Synopsis
After being smashed clean off the road by a cement truck, Su Yu reincarnates—system included—into the peaceful day-to-day life of the Golden Courtyard. He plans to grind the Abyss again in this new world… only to discover a fatal problem: without a bound Valkyrie, the system won’t even activate. With no way to play the power game, he shelves that ambition. But with a head full of Earth pop culture, Su Yu decides to start fresh the easy way—by becoming a spectacular “creative copier,” rewriting classic works and stirring up a roaring cultural storm. His happy new life has barely begun when, on a rain-washed evening, he meets Kiana—a girl who has somehow crossed over from the early Arc City era. That familiar ahoge droops. Her eyes are dull, like ashes after a fire burns out. “Is this… Arc City? I want to go back.” “You probably can’t.” “Why not?” “Because this place is very far from Arc City.” “How far?” “At least fifty thousand years.”

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Undefeated at the Start, Then I Pick Up a Valkyrie

Su Yu gave the convenience store receptionist, Xiao Hua, a quick greeting. After paying, he walked out with his "unrendered kitten combo"—instant noodles and a bottle of frozen Guojiao Iced Black Tea stuffed into a plastic bag.

Cold rain swept into his pant legs. He couldn't help but shiver.

He followed the old street back home. The streetlights had just come on—orange halos smearing into blurry reflections across puddles on the ground. The rain wasn't heavy, but it clung and clung without end, and the air smelled like wet asphalt.

And right then—

[Ding! Detected: the host has already spent the 847th minute of today without performing any effective tasks!]

A translucent red light-screen popped into existence, perfectly blocking his view.

[Friendly reminder: the High-Quality Valkyrie Binding Task remains unactivated! Please complete binding ASAP to begin your grand, earthshaking "creative-copying" life!]

There it was again.

Su Yu was long past being startled. He casually swiped the screen aside, pulled out a strawberry-flavored stick candy from his bag, unwrapped it, and tossed it into his mouth.

After recovering the memories of his previous life, he realized he'd joined the vast army of transmigrators.

You want to know why he transmigrated?

Because life is a crappy game.

As a player of Earth Online—a garbage title that force-installs, force-launches, and gives you zero choices—Su Yu's not-very-long life ended that day.

He officially announced his retirement from Earth Online.

The reason was simple:

Veteran players kept forcing him to "recruit newbies," and Su Yu could only stare, dead-eyed, at the romance system he'd waited decades to unlock—still locked.

Then he ran into a "simulated heavy-truck player" who'd downed some mysterious barley drink because the session wasn't going his way. In a "slightly buzzed" state, the guy pulled off a gorgeous drift.

That night, Su Yu became one of those classic "isekai reincarnation" cases on the news.

In plain language?

He got flattened by a dump truck.

But.

Maybe the otherworld-reincarnation quota was completely full. Maybe some prank-loving mastermind pulled strings.

Either way, he got reborn into the game he loved most.

That game was called Honkai Impact 3rd.

A godforsaken world where the mortality rate—whether you're born in the Previous Era or the Current Era as an ordinary person—shoots straight through the ceiling.

Even if you're chosen as part of the main cast: if you're born in the Previous Era, what's waiting for you is still Finality washing the world clean and you getting wiped along with it.

And even if you're born in the Current Era, unless you're Rita Rossweisse…

You start off with dead parents. Your little sister gets tossed into the Sea of Quanta. Your teacher dies halfway through the journey. Then you become the successor to… whatever the hell it is that likes touching your horns—strawberry cake and blueberry cake… and then they blow themselves up…

There were a thousand different "pain套餐" waiting for you to pick from, each one guaranteed to make you suffer.

Su Yu had wanted to raise a middle finger at the bastard behind all this and "bless" their entire family with wealth and prosperity.

The strawberry candy dissolved on his tongue—too sweet, kind of cloying, but that was exactly the point.

The rain seemed to get heavier. He lifted his head.

On a massive screen under neon lights was an endorsement ad featuring the world-famous superstar Eden.

He searched for information related to "Honkai" on his phone, but all he got were shady little sites with tags like [Honkai Face]…

With the mindset of appreciating the "art treasures" of this new world, Su Yu tapped one with enthusiasm. Three minutes later, still reeling from the sheer impact of what he'd seen, he couldn't help but sigh with deep emotion.

No matter what world you're in, there will always be pioneers who blaze a path and carry humanity's flame forward.

Truly great.

I respect them. Salute.

He flicked over to trending topics, and his mouth twisted further and further out of control.

[World-renowned superstar Eden's concert will be held on the 12th of this month at the Dome…]

[Mobius Laboratory offers high pay to recruit volunteers…]

[Popular streamer Miss Pink Elf is running a charity fundraiser…]

[Top male model Kalpas' cowboy jeans photobook now available—limited stock…]

[Famous web manga artist "Teacher Hui Shi" announces new work: Forbidden Academy 2…]

"Ehehe—!!"

Su Yu laughed like a god who'd just gotten his hands on a mysterious notebook. The streetlight cast sinister shadows across his face; a child passing by shrank into their mother's arms.

"Never have I had such a wonderful start! Cheer for me!"

Yes!

This was indeed the world of Honkai Impact 3rd—but it was the Golden Courtyard's slice-of-life world.

No fancy battle aura, no magic, no lethal Honkai energy, no random guy in a crowd suddenly turning into a zombie and chewing someone's face off—

Just celebrity concerts and new manga releases!

For Su Yu, this was a piece of news even more exciting than "ten-pull, nine golds."

Everyone knew people from Shenzhou had a "compromise" temperament.

Tell me you're dropping me into a boring daily-life world and I'll complain that there's no supernatural power.

But tell me you're tossing me into the Warp to serve the Emperor, and suddenly I'll feel like we can calmly discuss how to be a plagiarist in a daily-life world.

Right now, Su Yu felt like he'd climbed out of hell and into heaven. If he didn't mind soaking himself, he'd probably perform a full Shawshank Redemption scene on the spot.

Even the "unrendered kitten combo" in his hand—instant noodles plus frozen Guojiao Iced Black Tea—smelled better than ever.

This life, he had no money and no background—classic orphan-starter-pack—yet he was still, more or less, an "invincible person." One body, one mouth: fed himself and needed nothing else.

Instant noodles were delicious. Frozen black tea tasted amazing. The "teachers" of this world produced works that were explosively intense. He could even play games completely different from his old world…

After dying once, you learn to cherish the hard-won chance to live.

And besides, once his memories awakened, he realized he was basically an invincible solo player—full independence, no family baggage. What could possibly be more uplifting than that?

Plenty of people had miserable original families.

For some people, "your parents are dead" wasn't even an insult.

It was a blessing.

[Warm reminder: you currently have ZERO bound characters! Please find a Valkyrie to bind and unlock the system interface to embark on a life at the peak!]

Yes, yes, yes, I get it.

Su Yu had no idea when this system had shown up. It nagged him several times a day like a pop-up ad.

But come on!

There was no Honkai here—how could there possibly be Valkyries?

Even if he were in the Previous Era, this system had arrived a full fifty thousand years too early.

And what's more, he was in the Golden Courtyard's slice-of-life world.

Sure, failing to activate the system was a pity—but regret was baked into life. Even if Su Yu's "grades" weren't ideal… he meant, even if he wasn't perfectly satisfied—he was still pretty okay with his current life.

Eat well. Drink well. Don't take things too hard.

Tonight, when he got home, he'd pour ice cubes into a tall glass and then top it with iced black tea.

Tasteful. Classy.

With that thought, Su Yu quickened his pace and turned into an old residential complex.

The stairwell had no motion-sensor lights. Only a single ancient fluorescent tube hung near the second-floor corner, buzzing with an electric hum.

The light flickered, bright then dim, like it could go out for good at any moment.

Su Yu stepped up the wet stairs, his footsteps echoing in the empty stairwell.

He lived on the third floor.

When he reached the corner halfway up the second floor, he stopped.

Someone was squatting there.

Shadows swallowed most of the figure—only a pale calf and mud-caked boots showed.

Su Yu narrowed his eyes and stepped forward.

Right then, the fluorescent light flickered.

A harsh white flash lit up the curled figure in the corner.

White long hair—messy, the tips streaked with mud and dried blood.

A tattered jacket hanging open, revealing equally damaged white armor lining beneath.

And on her head, a stubborn ahoge stuck straight up—refusing to collapse even while the rest of her looked wrecked.

Su Yu's breathing stalled for half a second.

She raised her head.

That face was so pale it had no color at all. Heavy dark circles lay under her eyes, like she hadn't slept in ages.

Her left eye was sky blue.

Her right eye was a golden amber.

Two colors, glaringly sharp under the dim light.

Her lips were cracked. There was a scabbed cut at the corner of her mouth.

She looked at him.

That gaze—

Su Yu had seen many kinds of eyes.

Tired. Numb. Guarded. Despairing.

But he had never seen someone cram all of those things into one pair of eyes—then seal them under a thin shell that looked like it could shatter at any moment.

Like a stray cat drenched by rain, crouched in a corner, licking its wounds.

In an instant, a name leapt into his mind.

Kiana Kaslana.

Void Drifter?

How dedicated.

The armor and styling were so faithful… it was practically like a Valkyrie had stepped straight out of Honkai Impact 3rd.

And that performance—she nailed the bleakness, despair, and pain from the beginning of Arc City, right after losing Teacher Himeko.

This Arc City bug's cosplay was way too godlike.

Su Yu forced down the weird feeling in his chest, took out his keys, walked up, and spoke politely.

"Could you move a bit? I'm home."

His key had just slid into the lock.

The girl—who hadn't moved at all—suddenly trembled, her dull eyes shaking violently.

She spoke.

Her voice was light and hoarse, like something was stuck in her throat.

"Can you… see me?"

Su Yu was about to respond politely—maybe even compliment her acting—when his pupils shrank.

Wait.

This world… didn't even have a game called Honkai Impact 3rd.

So who was she cosplaying?

And she… who exactly was she?

The answer came from the light-screen, which suddenly began flashing at high speed.

What the hell… does that even mean?
