Chapter 1 - Multiverse Trading System

"I knew I'd find you here, Tsunade."

A 25-year-old young man walked toward the woman in the graveyard and stopped beside her.

Satoru sighed when he noticed her blank stare at her brother's grave.

'You caused a lot of trouble for your sister, ungrateful brat,' he thought. 'Why couldn't you stay still like I ordered you?'

As someone who knew the future, Satoru had warned his comrade's brother many times about the danger of war and had even saved his life twice as a gesture of kindness. But the stubborn little fool acted recklessly and charged to the front line, only to be crushed to death.

Honestly, Satoru was a bit relieved that the brat wouldn't cause more trouble for him. But seeing Tsunade's dark-circled eyes made him uncomfortable.

He wasn't in love with her or anything, but the secret they shared had made them naturally close for years.

So seeing her in such a sorry state made him feel guilty for being happy about her relative's death.

"Satoru…"

A quiet voice pulled him out of his spiral of thought.

"Sorry, did you say something?" Satoru asked.

Tsunade glared at him with bloodshot eyes, causing him to take a few steps back. Her temper was getting worse these days, and he didn't want to be on the receiving end of her venting like that masochist perv Jiraiya.

"I said I don't want to stay in this world anymore."

Satoru's gaze sharpened, and he took a quick look around before lowering his voice.

"You're sure? Last time, you firmly rejected my proposal."

"I have no one left to care about, so there's no reason to hesitate anymore."

"Really? What about Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Hiruzen, and Kushina? Will you really abandon your grandfather's village?"

Even though Satoru wanted to leave this world, he didn't want her to regret her decision. The chances of returning were extremely low, so he warned her in advance.

Tsunade's eyes briefly wavered before hardening. "Don't talk nonsense. Let's go."

"Well, you're the boss." Satoru shrugged and led the way to his house.

A few villagers whispered among themselves as they passed, causing him to smirk and glance back at her.

"I wonder what they're saying?" he asked innocently.

Tsunade's eyes twitched. Both of them had enhanced senses, so they could clearly hear the outrageous gossip the villagers were spreading.

"Sigh. Looks like Jiraiya will die of envy once he hears the news."

"Wanna die!" Tsunade raised her fist, looking ready to punch him.

"Sheesh, you're no fun."

Satoru stopped joking and increased his pace. Even though he was a Jonin, he didn't dare take one of her bone-breaking punches.

After walking for a while, they entered a simple two-story house. Satoru quickly grabbed the storage scrolls filled with food and gold that he prepared in advance.

"This is the last chance to reconsider!"

Instead of answering, Tsunade waved her hand, and a virtual screen appeared in front of them.

[Multiverse Trading System]

'Isn't this supposed to be my cheat? Why am I sharing it?'

Satoru didn't understand, but the system had connected him with Tsunade somehow ten years ago.

At first, he was elated, thinking he would quickly reach the pinnacle. That until he understood the system's mechanism.

Just as the name suggested, the system let you trade items from the multiverse using Trade Points earned from the quality of items you exchanged.

But the tricky part was that the store only refreshed ten items every year. Most of them were either useless for strong shinobi like them, or too overpowered and cost outrageous amounts of points.

Satoru took a quick look at this year's refreshed goods.

- The Conceptual Eraser (Item): A standard pink pencil eraser. When used on any written name or description, that person or object is erased from reality and collective memory. 100,000,000 points

- The Self-Opening Door (Item): A magical door frame that opens automatically when you approach, but it doesn't lead anywhere—it just stands in the middle of the room. 3,000 points

- The Save State Coin (Item): A gold coin that creates a "checkpoint" in time when flipped. If the user dies, they instantly respawn at that exact moment. 70,000,000 points

- The Invisibility Cloak (Item): It makes the cloak itself invisible, but not the person wearing it. It looks like you're wearing nothing at all. 2,500 points

- The Infinite Battery (Item): A universal power cell. It provides limitless energy to any machine, from a flashlight to a galactic-tier death star. 50,000,000 points

- Molecular Flavor Swap (Ability): The user can make anything taste like anything else. It doesn't change texture or toxicity. You can make lava taste like strawberries. 2,500 points

- The Honest Mirror (Item): A hand mirror that tells you your flaws. It doesn't help you fix them; it just insults your outfit and your life choices. 2,000 points

Vampire Bloodline

- The Mosquito Lineage: You gain all the thirst of a vampire but none of the cool powers. No super strength or speed. Your nose grows slightly sharper, and you develop an intense craving for blood. However, if you drink any, you immediately break out in itchy hives and feel bloated for three days. You still burn in the sun. 25,000 points

- Energy Conversion (Ability): Grants the user ability to convert their natural energy to other types of energy. 3,000,000 points (locked)

- The Random World Portal Gate (Item): The user can summon a portal at will, but the destination changes randomly after every use. 10,000,000 points (locked)

Your current balance: 17.000.000. points.

****

Honestly, a few items left him completely speechless. What the heck would he use an Honest Mirror for? He already had a woman who beat him up occasionally—he didn't need insults added to injuries.

Fortunately, there was a locking function that allowed you to stop items you fancied from refreshing.

[Tsunade wants to use ten million points to purchase a Random World Portal Gate. Do you agree?]

Satoru was resolved to leave this cursed world, but his heart ached when he saw the cost. They had spent five years collecting this much, and now they were spending it on something that wouldn't even make them stronger.

"How about we stay a little longer…"

"Stop yapping and quickly agree." Tsunade glared.

Satoru cursed himself for teaching her a few civilized words and reluctantly agreed to the purchase.

Though he had no right to complain, as most of their points belonged to Tsunade in the first place. She had been able to look at the Book of Seals and trade all the jutsu.

'Tsk. Connection works in every world.'

[Purchase Confirmed. Random World Portal Gate unlocked.]

Tsunade's hand trembled for a moment before a silver ring materialized on her finger.

Satoru curiously looked over with envy. Even though they shared the system, it didn't split the purchased items into two.

In a trance, Tsunade waved her hand, causing the runes on the ring to flare. A swirling blue portal materialized in front of them.

"It looks like a dungeon… we won't teleport into a monster den, will we?" Satoru inspected the gate, comparing it to the novels he had read in his previous life.

"It's different from space jutsu." Tsunade looked skeptical. "Will this really take us to a new world?"

"One way to find out." Satoru grinned and jumped inside the portal without hesitation.

"Wait…" Tsunade raised her hand, but Satoru had already gone. "So childish!"

Despite her complaint, an anticipatory smile spread across her face as she followed him into the portal.
