Aria sat on the bus beside Maya as they were on the way back to Miraden. Aria was catching up on her missed notifications from her system.
[ Emergency Quest Completed - Defeat the Tree Ent or escape to safety. Reward: 200 Exp, and 3 free stat points. ]
[ D-rank boss Tree Ent has been defeated, earned 400 Exp (x4) ]
[ User has leveled up: 5 -> 6 ]
[ Exp: 970/1200 -> 1370/2000 ]
[ Quest Completed Defeat the Yggdravine, or destroy the portal crystals. Depending on course of action, rewards will differ upon completion. ]
[ Reward has been calculated based on achievement in the Quest battle. ]
[ Rewards: New Skill Obtained (Atomic Density), and 5 free stat points. ]
Curious about her new skill, Aria expanded on the information.
[ Atomic Density Level 1 (Passive and Active) - Using both Titan and Celestial bloodlines, the users body becomes more dense and sturdy. Connected to Vitality/Durability, weight and density scales based on the stat. Every 10 points in the Vitality/Durability stat, weight is increased by a factor of 1.0x. At higher levels, control increases and user can activate skill at will. ]
Aria was a bit confused by the skill. Does this mean my weight is higher? It's helpful to not get knocked around in battle but I don't want to weigh a ton! This system gives the weirdest skills. Aria's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, let's just hope no one has to carry me at some point.
Aria put 5 stat points into her Endurance, so that she won't pass out in the middle of battle next time.
[ Endurance: 11 -> 16 ]
With her level up, Aria still had 4 more stat points to place. She decided to leave them for now and use them if needed. She soon drifted off into sleep again, this time out of mental exhaustion.
A while later the bus arrived at the front gates of Miraden Academy as the students began to unload. As soon as Aria began to get up, she could feel her new skill affecting her body. She was the last one off the bus but when her foot left the last step, the bus slightly shifted from the weight decrease.
Dang, why did I have to get this skill!
She walked back to the dorms with Maya beside her in silence. Neither of the two minded though, it was peaceful after such a stressful day. Eventually Aria did speak up.
"Maya?"
"Yes?" She responded with a gentle tone.
"Would we be able to eat lunch together tomorrow?" Aria asked with sparkles in her eyes, hoping for a yes.
"I don't like the cafeteria because of all the noise, so I am not sure." She answered with a slightly troubled tone.
"Well what if we go to the library and eat lunch there instead?" Aria tried again still hopeful.
Maya appreciated Aria for trying to accommodate her preferences and agreed to the request. "Yes, I would like that." She smiled slightly.
"Alright, I'll meet you at the library during lunch!" The two split up as they went to their seperate dorm areas.
When Aria got back to her room, she remembered her daily quest was still incomplete. She groaned as she went to her yoga mat to finish her exercises for the day. I feel like the daily quests are kinda useless at this point, 10 Exp barely makes a dent in the 2000 Exp required for my next level up.
She got a notification right after saying that.
[ Daily Quest Complete - 10 Exp awarded. ]
[ *Update* - User's body has been prepared for the physical burden of the Titan and Celestial bloodlines. Daily Quests will no longer be initiated. ]
Aria saw the update and was intrigued by the development. It will be nice not having to worry about it everyday, but again the system reacts to my thoughts. It's almost sentient, or a very advanced AI at least.
Putting her thoughts aside, she looked at the clock and saw how late it was. She climed into bed and fell asleep with ease.
As for Maya, she was pondering the information she learned earlier in the day.
After she had left the medical room to answer a few questions regarding the portal, she also eavesdropped on the conversation between Aria and Eric. For some reason she couldn't hear a single word Eric had spoken. It's like the sound around him was erased. She didn't know what rank he was but she got the feeling he shouldn't be messed with. She did hear what Aria said though.
So she is from a High Celestial bloodline, but how come she asked me about Titan bloodlines previously?
....
The next morning, Aria had just arrived at her homeroom classroom and got her tablet out to take class notes. She felt a tap on her shoulder and for the first time, she didn't freak out. Somehow she knew it was Eric, he had a habit of sneaking up on her.
Turning her head around, she looked at his handsome face as he stood behind her.
"Can I help you with something?" Aria asked with a sarcastic tone.
"Aw it's no fun if you aren't surprised by my appearance. I just wanted to say hello to my newest desk neighbor." He replied before taking a seat in the chair beside Aria.
"Wait, what?" She looked back at his desk and saw the girl who normally would sit in the seat next to her. "Aren't these assigned seats? How did you manage to change your seat?"
"I have my ways," Eric said with a laid-back tone.
Just how does he get away with all of this stuff?
Ignoring Eric's sudden desk change, she tried to focus on Professor Hodgens who had entered the room and began the first lecture of the day.
Others around the room did take notice of Erics seat switch. Some students were merely confused while certain others were perhaps even jealous. While many were afraid of Eric, there was a decent amount of girls that took a fancy towards him.
Aria could practically feel the daggers being starred at her. Well whatever, they already disliked me for being an F-rank.
Aria narrowed in on the lecture, hoping to avoid trouble. Trouble always manages to find her though.
