With newfound motivation, Aria was ready to rumble. Let's have a little fun, shall we? Aria recently created a skill and she decided now would be a good time to experiment with it.
[ Luminous Blast Level 1 (Active)]
Activating the skill in one hand while holding the ball in the other, an orb formed in her hand with a solid casing around it. Others were confused by what she was doing. Aria proceeded to throw the orb to the other side of the field where it shattered releasing a blinding flash of light.
Everyone on the field except an exceptional few, felt their eyes burn from the intense light. While only lasting a second, Aria took her chance and threw the ball at the closest student on the opposite team.
The student who was busy rubbing his eyes trying to regain his vision, had no idea of the ball flying towards him. Thown with about 50% of Aria's strength, this ball was faster and more deadly than the last. The poor student was nailed on the chest knocking them over onto the ground and skidding back a few feet. While not unconscious, the student was gasping for the air that was just knocked out of them.
The call was made and the student was out of the game, they did have to be carried away though. "Oops" Aria said innocently.
A few bitter students were mumbling away saying something about a fluke, but Victor knew Aria had more to give yet. He couldn't put his fingure on it yet, but something was bothering him. Her ability is light related? Where have I heard a rumor about that recently? Soon his competitive spirit made him completely forget about his concerns as the game was about to continue.
This time the opposite team had control of the ball. A large boy with pale skin walked over to the ball and picked it up. He was feeling brave and wanted to try taking on Victor. Perhaps to impress a few girls, he had some newfound courage.
Aria scanned the boy with her skill.
[ Target Scanned Successfully]
- Name: Tyrik VonBellis
- Bloodline: Slavic Folklore (Indrik)
- Rank: B
Aria had never heard of this type of creature before. She expanded the information on the bloodline which was a new perk of her scan skill leveling up.
[ Slavic Folklore (Indrik) - A large beast that that resides in mountainous areas, often has the body shape of an elk or horse like creature. It's head is adorned with either one large horn in the center or large branching antlers. Physically is quite large and strong but has healing capabilities as well as purification. ]
Aria was shocked by the amount of information she could see now. She knew Victor can handle himself but perhaps the large student could prove strong.
Tyrik winded up his arm and then threw the ball with all his might towards Victor. Faster than even Aria's throw, it was like a missile. Victor looked calm as the ball came towards him at a fast rate.
Victor's eyes glowed red and a crimson hue enveloped the ball that was almost upon him. Just before impact, the ball froze midair in front of Victor. Victor grabbed the ball in his hands, "this counts as catching right?"
Victor was a descendant of the Greek god Ares, who was the god of war and battle. Weapons are apart of his domain, and Victor designated the ball as his weapon just now meaning it was under his control.
Since Victor just caught the ball, he chose to take the chance and tackle his opponent. Putting the ball down, he charged forward at Tyrik who was still processing what just happened. Victor didn't believe in mercy as he didn't hold back in his tackle. Aria grimaced as the two made contact.
A loud crack was heard across the field, Victor stood up unscathed while Tyrik was currently unconscious on the ground. His arm was bent at an odd angle, and Aria wouldn't be surprised if he had a concussion from that wipeout.
Victor looked like he was disappointed while returning to his teams side of the field. "Well that was too easy, I expected a little more resistance considering how big he was." Victor complained as Tyrik was being taken away to the medical office.
Aria knew that Victor had this side to him and it almost gave her chills. Battle was an addiction for him and if you were weak or unable to provide entertainment, then you are worthless in his eyes. So far she was amusing to him, but what if she become like Tyrik and is the one laying on the floor?
Aria put the thoughts out of her mind as the game continued again. Victor who had possession of the ball now, easily eliminated another student. He comanded the ball with his ability that telekinetically shifted it across the field. Instead of the ball landing on the other teams field, Victor would make it come straight back to his hands after eliminating a student. In succession he got multiple students out of the game. Aria assumed this would be the end of the game, with Victor dominating.
Another unexpected outcome arrived when a student who was about to be hit, turned his body into a gelatinous substance. The ball hit him and then was absorbed by his body which softened the impact. Taking the ball out, the student had officially caught the ball. Knowing better than to try to tackle Victor, the student with a slime body decided to pass on the chance.
By changing tactics, the boy threw the ball at one of the other members on Aria's team. Getting one girl out, the ball was given possession to Aria once again. Aria repeated her previous tactic and threw the ball after a Luminous Blast, which eliminated the slime student. With them gone, Victor wiped the floor with the remaining two students soon after.
Victory was theirs, and Aria was happy with her quest completion.
