System in Modern Family

Leo, a terminally ill 27-year-old dying of cancer, has one unique obsession: an encyclopedic and almost pathological knowledge of the sitcom Modern Family, particularly the character of Alex Dunphy, whose intellectual loneliness and unsatisfying ending torment him. In his final moments, a mysterious Canonical Transposition System hears his wish to become her "guardian" and reincarnates him in the year 2003, into the universe of the show, as Leo Bennett, a neighbor two years older than Alex.
