Chapter 1 - ~Our encounter~

~{Chapter 1} My Addiction ◉‿◉~

It's the middle of March but it's been raining alot lately, and last night was not an exception. Deep in my sleep, I could hear thunderstorms, it was soo loud and threatening. I could hear the window sprang open and a cold breeze brushed against my cheeks. I wrinkled my nose as it tickles and turned over to the other side of the bed, but then it came again, this time it was closer and colder. I felt it brush against my neck, sending a shivering sensation down my spine, just then, I cought on a very faint gardenia scent, it was intoxicating, so intoxicating that it sent a wave of goosebumps throughout my whole body and my nipples immediately got hard. I knew this scent, how could I not.. it was Liya's, the one scent that could drive me nuts, I inhaled deeply trying to drown myself in it. The cold air came again but just as I was brazing my self for all the pleasures, I heard a very subtle soothing voice whisper my name

"Maya... Maya.. Hey.... Open your eyes"

I snapped my eyes open and above me was the most beautiful and mesmerizing big brown pair of doe eyes staring down at me.

"What's the matter..?? I heard you call out my name.."

she said flashing the most gorgeous smile I'd ever seen. I immediately came back to my senses, sprung off my bed and tried to catch my breath.

"N... Nothing.. Nothing's wrong.. I'm totally Okay..."

I stammered, my heart pounding in my chest.

"You've not changed a bit.. still very silly."

She teased,

"breakfast is almost ready, go freshen up so you'll come eat okay..!!"

She said smiling while walking towards the kitchen counter, she was still the same too, tho prettier, it's been 5 years but she hasn't changed a bit, and so is my feelings, actually they've grown even stronger.

Liya and I have been friends for 8 years now, we first met during my sophomore year, she was studying professional modeling while I was into cosmetology Since our families own one of the biggest luxury clothing and cosmetic brands in Bangkok. Being an award winning introvert, it was difficult for me to associate or make friends, and even when I try to, they treat me like I'm not human that has problems or feels pains, just because my family was wealthy. The wealthy ones on the other hand, had too much pride to be friends with, so I resulted to being a lone wolf, it was better that way, alone and mentally safe, or so I thought. It was raining the day I met Liya, my driver was running late so I had decided to take a Little walk, and somehow ended up at the river verge and before I knew it, it had started raining. I closed my eyes and shut off every sound, only focusing on the soothing sound of the waters slamming against each other, the cold drops landing on my face, it felt so calming and refreshing and I felt so free, but then someone suddenly started yelling at me, I turned around to see who it was but then accidentally slipped and fell. Liya didn't hesitate, she came running towards me.

"Are you okay..? did you get injured..? where does it hurt..??"

She asked, examining my entire body. She looked really worried, how weird.

"I'm okay... Didn't get injure.. and it doesn't hurt.."

I replied in a teasing tone. She looked up at me and when she saw I was smiling, she suddenly hit me on the head.

"Are you crazy.. why are you standing here under this heavy rain.. do you want to get sick.. and don't you know it's very slippery around here when it rains you could slip and break your neck.. what were you thinking..??"

She said. I was speechless, nobody has scolded me in that manner in a very long time. After my older brothers death, it felt as if I was invisible, no one cared about me or how I'm feeling or if I was okay, my mom blames me for it, so it wasn't really a surprise they treated me the way they did. It felt good tho, to be invisible, I could be alone, just me, myself with my thoughts but still I hated it. They weren't the only ones mourning, my brother was literally my everything, ever since we were little he was the one who took care of me, our parents were always either busy with work and so many other things, or fighting, they were always away. Jai, who was just 5 years older, was the one who raised and took care of me, he was my best friend, my everything, yet when he died, nobody even bothered to ask me how I was feeling, if I was okay, instead my mom blames me for his death, my dad would always tell her it wasn't my fault but she never stopped, while I was hurting and dying inside, I just wanted to be treated like a human being, just one person that cared enough to ask me how I was feeling, I'm a person, I hurt and I feel pains too. And now, after after a long time, someone had finally asked, a total stranger, someone I've never seen before, was worrying about me. I stood there, staring at her in awe, my eyes stung from all the pent up emotions since the past one year and before I knew it, tear drops started rolling down my cheeks. Her gaze immediately softened and she pulled me in for a hug.

"I'm sorry, please don't cry... I didn't mean to get angry and yell at you... I was just worried..!!"

She said, gentle patting my head, I instantly felt bad. I wanted to tell her that wasn't the reason I was crying, but then I heard a car horn and someone called out to me, it was my driver.

"What's your name..?"

She asked.

"Maya... Kamaya Chantasiri.."

I replied amidst my tears.

"Okay Maya...hurry and go.. I'll see you tomorrow okay.."

She said smiling at me. I offered to drop her off but she declined saying her class was not over yet. I nodded and hurried to my car, as we drove off, I could still see her, standing there watching us go.

I got home and my parents, as usual, was too busy on their computers to even notice my presence, but for some weird reason, it genuinely didn't bother me, I just greeted them and headed towards my room, I felt good, but no idea why.

I was still in the bathroom when I heard the housekeeper calling me, so I hurried up and came out to meet her.

"What's the matter.."

"Oh.. good day lady Kamaya, your father has asked me to inform you to hurry up and come downstairs, his business partner is visiting so he wants you to be present.

She said, slightly bowed, and then left. I immediately felt irritated, what's my business with him and his partner, I don't care, I don't even want to have anything to do with them. My good mood had finally been ruined, just when I thought I could spend a day in this house where I'm not moody. I took a deep sigh if only I had a friend, it would've been nice, I would've escaped and go be with them instead, I wouldn't have to deal with this, but I don't have anybody. I fell back on my bed and shut my eyes, and the memories from earlier started replaying, if only I had her number, I could've called and talked with her, who knows, I might feel better afterwards, and then out of no where, reality hit me.

"I don't have her number...?? OMG... I didn't even ask her name or department... How am I going to see her again...??"

I screamed out.

"What were you thinking you fool, how do you forget the most important things, what am I going to do..??"

I said to myself, pacing around in my room. It was already evening so I quickly put on my clothes and headed downstairs.

"Let's get over one problem first, then we'll think of how to solve the rest later.."

I thought to myself. I got to the visitors room and they were already there, so I bowed in greetings, even though I hated it here, I still had to show courtesy.

"This is my daughter, Kamaya. We lost her older brother last year, so in the future, she'll be the one to manage Siiri Navarii..."

My dad continued introducing me, while I tried heading to the sofa to sit down, but just as I raised my head, my eyes immediately caught someone familiar, I paused and took another look to confirm, and there she was, it was exactly who I was thinking about

"Oh this my daughter, Naliya and that's her older brother Santa..."

I stood there, frozen, staring at her, as she stares back... Wearing the most gorgeous smile I'd ever seen, her big brown doe eyes glittering like she bore the universe in them, the world became utterly quiet.

"Naliya..!! Your name is Naliya..!!"

Was the only thing I could utter.
