Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Perspective Pace Tory

"So what else is their we need to know about this world?" Pace asked.

"Well their are true lords, the curses and blessings, the four knights cult and of course a little history lesson as to the wonders of the world with were we will be going yours see most of them." Sefton said.

"First of true lords are a rare phenomenon among the races like I said their are usually three at a time at most though sometimes their are more. For some races all those that reach the limit of power are considered true lords even if they aren't. The limit in question is known as the 3000 barrier even for most true lords reaching 3000 is a great feat let alone the true limit of this world 3500. So when it comes to those with 3500 only the most powerful are known to have such power Blaire is naturally one of the handful. It I recall each race has one member with over three thousand though only Blaire and the dragon king are known to have 3500." Sefton said explaining the true lords in greater detail.

"The curses are things the gods place on the mighty mortals known to have seven colours if you are a member of the four knights cult or switch sides to the gods your curse changes to a blessing." Sefton said also rather clearly explaining why the curses existed and why one as ridiculous as Blaire's existed in the first place.

"Then the four knights cult known as the betrayers with members from each race it also has due to the aid of the two warring gods individuals with seven colours and even a few true lords all with powerful blessings." Sefton said.

"Then as for the history of the world wonders other than the sunken continents divine palace of runes all were made during different fights from the third great cataclysm." Sefton said satisfied.

"Okay but with two guys like Blaire around why we're three continents lost in the last one?" Pace asked curious and knowing even though an unreasonable question it was better asked just in case.

"Well you see the two gods were at war since assume ably before even the first great cataclysm and they both have one individual under them at that level. Moreover at the time Blaire had only just reached seven colours and hadn't fully awakened his true lord nature and the same can be said for the dragon king. More importantly for some reason the third great cataclysm seemed to have many more powerful beings with over 2000 Dellanima on the side of the gods. This was because of an organisation now known as the four knights cult joining the gods to finish their war and wipe out the mortal world in a quest for a mysterious blessing from a divine writer. As for divine writers I know another other than they are to writer what we are to writers." Sefton said a long winded but helpful explanation.

"Okay I get it." Pace said he then decided to ask about the world wonders in hopes hearing about them might boost everyone else's spirits.

"By the way could you tell me all about the world wonders especially how many their are." Pace said.

"Well the most famous and the only one from before the third great cataclysm is the divine palace of runes the reason it's the only one left is the others were destroyed in the third or second cataclysm." Sefton said taking a moment to think and stroke his beard trying to remember details about the others that might be interesting or help boost spirit seeing what Pace was trying.

"Their is the largest the sea of boiling stone that is what became of the middle third of the dragon continent after the final battle in the third cataclysm. Their is also the great waterfall, orc ravine and mighty river on the orc continent also damage from the third cataclysm those three count as one. The great human empires wall, then the fortress of wood and steel made by the elves and dwarves working together for the first time in history due to having no other options. Of course their is the great library of history made by the elves on their half of the great elven and dwarven mountain range. Then the history cellars of the dwarves on their own side of the mountain. Of course the new world tree in the centre of the fortress of wood and steel. I think that's it yes that's it that's all eight." Sefton said clearly leaving out any details of size or distance on the sea of boiling stone and the orc ravine. While the size of the sea of boiling stone was obvious from that it takes up a third of the dragon continent the orc ravine and the mighty river and great waterfall were also going to far surpass what nature could make.

"That's really something so where are we actually and where are we going?" Pace asked feeling as though the mood of the others just by looking at them was clearly unchanged even Max seemed almost like a ball of sadness.

"The dragon owned part of the dragon continent we are going to the sea of boiling stone to human territory. After training their go to the elves and dwarves then back to human lands we can get a boat to cross the Malanon sea to the orc continent to train your bodies their. After which we return to the human territory with most of your remaining training being to reach the sunken continent and study the runes in the sunken continent till the marks of another cataclysm start popping up. From which you'll return to human territory for a quick speed training under Blaire till the four knights are summoned by the four knights cult." Sefton said a truly immense and rather long list for their training though reasonable given to beat the most powerful they would face had at least seven colours. It wasn't unexpected that their would be those with all 9 colours.

"Okay but I still have some questions like why didn't Blaire and Kiarra bring us with and also tell me more about how the colour system works still drawing some blanks their." Pace said asking and saying what most of the spiritually broken group was thinking.

"Oh you would have been torn to pieces by the force of traveling so far in an instant. As for the colours as I said the primary colours when you gain one has a physical affect that transforms your abilities. The first just tightens all senses no-one has died to that the second seems to burns tear and break bones to reforge many times stronger over a short period. Though naturally the increase is greater based on original physical power regardless the physical improvement is immense and painful so most train their bodies a lot before going for it. If I recall the gap in physical power means even an elf's on pure strength alone can equal a young dragon without a soul colour so that should put into picture how ridiculous the increase is and how painful it would be. Then the third by far the greatest improvement in raw physical ability and the most pain even most dragons if unprepared die trying." Sefton said pointing to some of his scars likely not wounds but marks that couldn't be healed since they were from gaining a second primary soul colour.

"That doesn't sound very fun." Pace said.

"Oh don't worry with rune technology you won't die from the pain at least." Sefton said.

"Oh cool but still I imagine that is why seven colours is rare seven colours must be those that can hold a high head anywhere." Pace said.

"They are but even though you have a chance since Fey are known to gain lifespan based on how much Dellanima they have don't expect to be able to achieve it until some point before the final few battles." Sefton said clearly not much faith even another worlder could pull it of likely having seen only one succeed probably the one that ended the third great cataclysm.

"Okay but what about the great cataclysm what ended each of them?" Pace asked knowing it was a sensitive question but he knew the more they understood the better to survive.

"Well in the second the records say that one of the hero's awakened a mysterious power he referred to as the grey soul power and he sealed all foes away even the gods. As for the third I saw it myself a hero give his all and all his friends gave their lives so he could gain that power of grey and seal the gods and their armies away again though for a far shorter time period. As for what this grey soul colour and it's power is no clue though I can tell you what I understand about white and black even if it isn't exactly accurate." Sefton said clearly having not the foggiest about the grey power that seemed to only be able to appear in the other world hero's and even then at a great cost.

"I see fair enough I take it they surviving hero's from the second cataclysm is how the Fey I'm related to got to my home world." Pace said.

"Exactly." Sefton said.

"Now the only big question left I can think of is what do black and white soul colours do." Pace said.

"Black gives power and white takes power naturally black is used on the self to increase the power of your specialty and white is used to weaken an enemies most powerful moves." Sefton said.

"I see... wait how are we going to get the others to understand you?" Pace asked.

"I have rune technology for that and I turned it back on after Blaire and Kiarra left." Sefton said.

"Oh... Feels kinda obvious now... I feel kinda stupid for asking and dumb question." Pace said.

"Not a dumb question completely reasonable how are you meant to know." Sefton pointed out.

"Now then onto the human empire." Sefton said his water powers to move the wheels by covering them in water and lifting it with his clear skill and power.

Everyone including me jolts at this and I then sit down and move over to the other survives to try and boost spirits.

"Hey guys I know it's all doom and gloom now but let's be honest moping won't help." Pace said.

"How can you still be so motivated to keep going after all that?" Jacklyn asked.

"I learned a long time ago just because you faced a great tragedy you don't get to sit around moping forever you got to just keep moving forward... Nothing to it but to do it." Pace said more muttering the last bit.

"He's right just because of all that's happened doesn't mean we can just mop and cry about how sad we all are." Maximillian said sitting up his spirits back to usual.

"Easy for you to say you two have super powers." Lina muttered.

"How about this I'm sure as to most of your names but not all couldn't be bothered to learn them but I'll try to learn them so tell me your names that goes for all of you." Pace said.

"Maximillian Titanius." Maximillian said going first.

"Vittoria Agatino." Miss Agatino said.

"Carbry Ulick." Carbry said.

"Lina Catherine." Lina said.

"T-Tillie Luella." Tillie said.

"Jacklyn Mamie." Jacklyn said.

"Austin Kenzie." Austin said.

"Brycen Chace." Brycen said.

"Okay now we are what exactly?" Pace asked the probably rhetorically question.

"Survives who just got lucky?" Austin said like it was a question.

"No we are more than that...uh..." Pace said before Maximillian quickly whispered the name to him to remind him "Austin no Austin we are much more we are few we are smaller and elite if me and Max can awaken our soul colours so can you. Also considering everything seems pretty likely at least most of you have better talent than me actually that is a great question." Pace said looking in Sefton's direction.

"Yes when it comes to the hero's the pattern is at least one of each colour and any others only get primary so just don't be the last two and you'll get better talent." Sefton said clearly not sure largely just guessing on some details though confident most of it was right.

Upon hearing that the spirits of the others had finally gotten to the point they could at least move forward even if it would take a lot to get them going again. It was after all that I finally realised that at no point did I have any clue as to where my notebook was likely meaning we had lost it.

"Hey would any of you happen to have the notebook I kinda... Don't." Pace said.

"Oh yeah I do here." Lina said.

"When did you? Never mind all that matters is we still have this now everyone gets to write a page but no more." Pace said.

Everyone nodded and waited for their turn getting their emotions down on paper also seemed to further improve the mood again a few notches.

"Actually I'm curious how long will it takes us to get to the sea of boiling stone and how will we cross it?" Pace asked.

"A few days but if I got max speed we could get their in a day but that is very fast what is the fastest you've ever travelled regardless of context?" Sefton asked.

"Well the average train speed for a train most people use is 125 miles per hour so that fast unless we count planes." Pace said.

"Okay good so if I use my wind abilities and water abilities to protect us going 300 miles per hour shouldn't be a problem for you lot." Sefton said already using water to shape the dirt the carriage was made of making it have a full back and seats then drying it into hard rock without a hint of water. Even though it would need constant and immense control and focus to maintain the vacuum seal on our air and the newly remodelled carriage it was likely possible for this to be used to reach the sea of boiling stone in a day. This immediately made us think he meant a few weeks instead of a few days simply viewing time like elves often did in fiction with a year being nothing even decades in their later years hardly mattered.

"This is going to be painful and terrifying isn't it." Maximillian said.

"Probably." Carbry said.

"Almost definitely." Miss Agatino said.

"With our luck exceptionally scary at least." Pace said.
