Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Perspective Maximillian Titanius

Even though it was intense at first thanks to Sefton's spells we were able to handle the speed. It wasn't exactly comfy but it was stable enough and it's been a few hours and I haven't seen whatever this sea of boiling stone could be yet.

"Hey Sefton what exactly is my Dellanima exactly Max's." Pace said.

"For you probably point one as for Max point zero three at most that's the level most start at after first awakening and remember the limit for one colour is well one Dellanima." Sefton said.

"That's interesting but beyond that what even is the sea of boiling stone?" Pace asked.

"A giant 5,000 mile wide and long ocean of lava that is unsurprisingly a wonder of the world it is quite the sight." Sefton said clearly trying to put a lighter tone on what was an incredibly horrible event.

"I'm... I'm sorry five... five thousand miles." Maximillian said while Pace was so shocked he couldn't even reply.

"Yes don't worry to much it wasn't made by an attack from one of the sin lords or the virtue lords not even the four arch angles or the lords of betrayal could do that it was from when the two gods faced the last hero." Sefton said acting like that still wasn't an insane feat of power.

"And it's just been their for 500 years no-one has been unable to do the damage and it hasn't recovered on it's own." Maximillian said.

"Pretty much." Sefton said.

"I'm just gonna guess that virtue lords and sin lords are angle and demon race members with seven colours while the arch angles and betrayal lords are their true lords." Pace said.

"Yup." Sefton said.

"Ah we are here." Sefton said as the carriage seemed to shake and slow until it stopped.

It was only then when we looked out to where he was looking and it was then we saw it a truly massive port city. The city looked like nothing I had ever seen before like a hybrid of more old fashioned middle ages architecture and more industrial age technology. But the actual technology wasn't technology it was just metal and stuff in specific shapes with runes on them using the rune magic to recreate things similar to early industrial technology. Of course when we first approached we didn't know it was the port city on the edge of the sea of boiling stone we were travelling to but that wouldn't take long to figure out.

"What is this place?" Maximillian asked.

"The port city of dragons stone and one of only a handful of cities on the dragon side of the dragon continent." Sefton answered.

"It's incredible." Pace said.

"This is just what it looks like from the outside its rather busy and populated on the inside." Sefton said.

"You'll even be able to see the sea of boiling stone when we travel deeper as you can tell its rather large most of the rune technology is powered by the energy pumping out of the sea of boiling stone. After the sea of boiling stone was made when we learned what it could be used for we started forging all rune technology here from metal found near by most often. Something about the conditions make it so the power of the user doesn't matter it was after that rune technology was finally able to advance and it did so rapidly." Sefton said remember those years when sometimes you would hear of a new discovery twice in the same day.

"That's incredible to be able to turn something so terrible into something so helpful that's amazing." Miss Agatino said.

"I've never seen something so incredible." Carbry said.

"I'll admit that's pretty cool." Lina said.

"You should see it at sunset their is a spot where you can see both the sea of boiling stone and the setting sun at the same time it's quite a sight." Sefton said remembering the number of times he had been their himself and how even Blaire who hated the sea of boiling stone enjoyed the view.

"Any who unfortunately the their won't be any boats left for us to travel on today so we will stay the night I'll show you all the spot it should help you all." Sefton said.

Everyone seemed a little excited at this something so awe inspiring even a long lived old elf like Sefton praised it was very motivating. Little did we know at the time all the stink of evil and vial things we would face after the sunset and just how many secrets this world still held. We would see scenes so beautiful they would make anyone stop talking for a moment to appreciate it and scenes so horrible they would make you reconsider your life choices at best. Rest assured the journey to the human territory was a long one filled with challenges travel and trouble is the name of the game with survival the goal. The only thing you can be sure of is to trust no-one in the port city of dragons stone.

Perspective Blaire Walker

"I'll never get used to that." Kiarra said almost throwing up clearly made nauseous by the instantaneous travel.

"You'll be fine get up brat." Blaire said unimpressed as usual.

"Yes master." Kiarra said dejected walking behind his massive frame.

It was then that Blaire took of his cloak and you could see his true look most of his right ear seemed to be missing making the left side of his face seem a different person. You could even more easily see the clear wrinkles on his left side making it clear even with the effects of his prosthetic arm and leg he was still aging since his curse was so powerful. Even the way the energy in his arm and leg seemed to pulsate with more power and force but still largely a green energy seemed to flow and cascade along the vein like workings of them. Even the way the runes seem to glow along them in pattern seemed more focused and less dull more like they were being fed proper power. You could even now see that Blaire was completely bald on his head not a hair to his name and seemed very well shaven through consistent grooming to prevent hair. Even his left arm could be seen he didn't seem to wear anything on either arm and his immense muscles could be seen coiled and containing immense power.

Of course naturally Kiarra also took of her cloak the way her scales formed around her looked akin to clothes more fit for battle and flexibility than showing of. The way her horns on her head looked even seemed to have more spike and how her short brown hair moved as she did seemed less hidden. You could even now see the wings tucked into her back only to be covered by her scales clearly using the body aspect to form her scales into clothing so she wouldn't need to bother. Even her own muscles were clear from her surprisingly thick yet thin arms to her imposing legs she was also incredibly muscular like her master.

"Master if I may ask why are we really here if it was really just the four knights cult making early moves you usually just send me?" Kiarra asked hopping along trying to walk casually along side Blaire's massive self.

"This is different this time the hero's are actually here we don't know why the writers summon hero's every time but we know they are a requirement for whatever great opportunity they hunger for. More importantly it was because I'm picking up my halberd you go ahead and look into their moves." Blaire said a thick veil of energy covering his skin less like power more like clothing making it hard to even see his greenish skin tone.

"Master... are you serious you mean that halberd?" Kiarra asked.

"The very same." Blaire said.

"Isn't that over kill I know it's the strongest weapon in the world since much like your prosthetics it's made from powerful pieces of the old world tree. But as far as I know the quality gap is insane isn't that stone in the middle between the axe part and the spear part the old world trees heart." Kiarra said.

"It is but this weapon while not useful now will be a requirement to win the later battles mostly because of the arch angles and the lords of betrayal. I may be more skilled but all of them have 3500 Dellanima just like me so this weapon is a requirement since even if all of the hero's reach seven colours being able to punch up even small gaps at that level is hard. Let alone fighting even one of them their are four arch angles and four lords of betrayal so even I'll have a hard time and that's if we call in everyone. Of course that's also leaving out those two the Limbo Lord and the will definer both have all nine colours so even though they are only at 3500 like me their is a gap since they have purer Dellanima than I do. So when it comes to fighting me and the current dragon king will be distracted by taking care of those two. With this weapon I can end my fight quick which will make life easier for everyone." Blaire said fully explaining the situation and how the change had made such an effect.

"Understood I'll go out and see what I can get." Kiarra said bolting off into the sky flying fast and faster till she reaches 100 times the speed of sound.

After that Blaire simply walked forward wondering through the human empires capital Lands folly and walked all the way to the castle of the human emperor himself. Naturally everyone their knew him and his status as one of very few clearly above even the emperor so they bowed and made way for his massive frame. This castle wasn't so massive as most others to brag but to make proper and comfortable room for Blaire to move around in since. Naturally it was the holy empirical families greatest pride and trump card that this place was also where Blaire lived. Such a great honour as to merely see Blaire was among the humans of today considered an omen of great luck and blessings. So it was only natural that the human empirical family despite their relative weakness had the confidence to talk as equals to even the dragon royal family. Even though Blaire wouldn't do everything for them he would make a move if it involved the four knights cult or making sure the others races didn't bully the still relatively weak human race. If you made a list of all the reasons the humans were considered the second strongest race after the dragons the only reason on that list would be Blaire.

It was a calm a leisurely walk through the palace to the most heavily guarded section of the entire place more so than even the emperors own bedroom. To serve as a guard for even a short while here required at least three soul colours and no family wouldn't take immense pride in having a relative serve to guard this location. It was also these few guards that would receive some of the highest honours in the human empire to learn under Blaire and Sefton. So all of these guards could be called the beating heart of the human empires pride second only the emperor himself. Each and every person who had ever served to guard this place ever since it was built almost 200 years ago was a truly trust worthy person that had earned at least some respect from even Blaire.

He then finally walked through that section with the guards known only as the ash protectors and gave a simple nod of acknowledgement. Even this was considered high and rare praise to most while to these guards they saw it whenever Blaire walked through which was rather often at least coming here once a week. It was then that he walked to the final door guarded by the leader of the ash protectors their captain. This man was most often one with four soul colours meaning he was from the empirical family and was most often the crown prince. So it was only natural that his importance and duty was immense in terms of importance only the Emperor or the pope might be able to claim more sway over the hearts of the people. It was then that Blaire gave a notably deeper nod and then walked forward through the last door as the ash protectors captain gave a respectful bow.

It was after the door open you could see the full scale of what was under such immense protection. The room it's was covered wall to wall in thick vines that pulsated with power given by the halberd with it's head in the ground. It would be then you could see that the halberd had a tree growing around it likely an effect from the material it was made from even having the jewel that once served as the heart for the world tree. You would likely question why no gardener had ever entered this place despite the clear need the reason was also for why the guards where called ash protectors. In an instant as the halberd senses a presence all the life turns to ash and cinder like burned by a great flame.

"I see you still feel bitter despite all my visits you old bastard well you deserve to be stuck in that thing." Blaire said staring with a violent hate at the jewel at the centre of the metal part of the halberd.

"You may think you were in the right but you weren't you blind hate for hybrids is why you lost you refused to believe I had reached your level so when you heard a hybrid of the highest order was to be born. Well you tried to destroy that egg but you killed my friend the only reason you still live is because of old bonds I unlike some won't forget." Blaire said grasping the handle.

It was then that the jewel which up till now had been glowing seven colour rainbow changed to a violent hateful storm like of colours the wind and ashes seemed to try and attack Blaire doing nothing.

"You should know by now you need a wielder to use any power arrogant bastard lucky for you the five hundred years of the seal is almost up." Blaire said.

The storm of ash seemed to stop as it heard this forming letters and words to communicate.

"Already?" The letters formed.

"Yup good for you that means someone gets to see outside and don't try resisting my power you know it only makes it worse." Blaire said lightly tapping what was a rune with a shifting form and a seeming few slight cracks over that exact spot.

"Don't rattle it so much you cretin." The ash formed the words.

"If it weren't for the miracle that was whatever went wrong when I sealed you the stone would still be dead and I imagine that would be quite painful since your stuck and your not getting out any time soon." Blaire mocked the mysterious being in the halberd and his situation.

"If I weren't in here this halberd wouldn't be half as strong and the already difficult fourth cataclysm may be unwinnable." The ashes formed the words with greater speed than the last one clearly knowing what Blaire would say.

"Doesn't matter you fancy lizard we got work to do." Blaire said gripping the hilt with an immense force in an instant with one arm casually swinging the weapon free from its place and casually swinging it over his shoulder.

"Now then let's go out on our little walk and don't complain brat." Blaire said remembering when the being in the halberd had said something similar to him well over 500 years ago.

"Good Job runts but until further notice I'll be using the halberd the hero's are in this world traveling here with Sefton as we speak so make sure everyone important knows!" Blaire yelled using some power so that all the ash protectors would hear they very quickly went on the move.
