Synopsis
I couldn’t believe it when I found out that Frieren was defeated by Solo Leveling for Anime of the Year and before I knew it, I was suddenly transmigrated into the Solo Leveling world without my consent.

Chapter 1 - 1: Little Rant

To describe this situation easily, have you ever seen that podcast clip of a woman talking about escaping North Korea that turned into a meme?

If you have, then you'll get what I mean because here in America, instead of getting isekai'd by a truck-kun, you get sent to another world after getting hit by a mustang-kun.

Aside from Karens behind the wheel, the type of driver I loathe most on the road is the muscle car dumbass. I was enjoying my meal in peace until this maniac, who probably trying to impress his girlfriend, lost control of his rear tires and crashed his Mustang into me.

Typical Mustang behavior. But to think I'd die in such a random, senseless way?

You'd think this is just a joke I found on reddit or that I've got an American gyatt ass that made me patriotic. Hell no. Apparently, due to government regulations banning trucks made in Japan, ROB had to find an alternative way to isekai me. Gosh, I always wanted those kei truck.

Anyway.

I was just buying snacks, eating a kebab on the street before heading home to continue watching my favorite anime recently.

It's a story that takes place after the demon king's defeat, where an elf named Frieren watches her human comrades from the hero's party grow old and die especially him. That him changes her life as she slowly goes from being cold-hearted to who she becomes as the story unfolds.

It's called Frieren, by the way.

Some people loved it, some didn't. Sure, it's slow-paced, but I think it's beautifully written. I still don't understand how some people don't like Frieren, when most isekai anime these days are just "OMG he's so OP," or "damn look at those cakes."

Honestly, Frieren could've won Anime of the Year without even trying.

"Frieren lost to what? Solo Leveling…?"

That was my first reaction.

So, I decided to check the anime. Frieren set the bar really high, so Solo Leveling had to meet that standard. When I finished it, I just smiled."What was that…"

No hard feelings though, it was really fun to watch. Although, I had something to criticize.

Basically one guy farming his aura all season while the rest of the cast just stands around watching in awe. Their whole existence feels like it's just to hype up Sung Jin-Woo's aura. Pretty repetitive, I guess. Not to mention, the anime seems to love showing unrelated stuff like Cha Hae-In's workout sessions. Like… why? Still, the animation is great I didn't get bored finishing season 2.

I was even surprised that it had better romance development compared to… well, if you know, you know and better animation than… yeah, if you know, you know. I know, I'm kinda late to the hype.

Not hating though Solo Leveling isn't a bad. But seriously, how did it beat Frieren when Frieren had a better plot, richer world-building, and beautifully written characters? Solo Leveling is great for having a badass protagonist, sure. But Frieren gives you all of that and depth. I'm still speechless that this happened.
