Ultra Code R.G Rebooting in 33 minutes
A silence so calm, so quiet
peaceful, free from all troubles.
The entire world… the entire ground filled with bodies.
People standing, carrying guns not just any guns.
For a moment, the world froze.
No sound. No movement.
Only one voice flowed through the air:
"Ultra Code 0.G Digital Code R.G
resetting in one… two… three… four… five…"
The silence grew heavier.
Men with guns dragged their own brothers to the corner.
Machines four-legged, long rifles mounted ran straight ahead,
And men ran straight into death without looking back.
Then again… silence.
So calm for a heartbeat
Then it came.
The noise.
Explosions tore through the air, loud enough to kill the silence.
The sound of bodies, crushed beneath iron and fire.
Soldiers shouting.
Commanders screaming orders.
The war ground painted with human flesh and metal.
Iron feet crushing, jamming, gathering the fallen.
Ultra Code R.G.
A biological system built in the '90s deadly, ancient, unknown.
No scientist ever discovered its true creation.
No nation ever claimed it.
It decided on its own to take the entire surface.
Noise again.
Screams: "Soldiers! Run! Save yourselves! We can't win!"
"They're monsters machines! Not human!"
"They're exterminating us!"
Over 9,300,143 soldiers entered the battlefield.
Only 100 walked out.
The rest wiped clean, erased from existence.
Their final transmission echoed:
Run. Save yourselves. Do not die here. Go home.
We can't fight them they have no conscience.
The system replied coldly, almost human:
"Notification: System rebooting.
0.G code terminated.
No need to harvest anymore."
Every loss. Every fallen man.
That was the rhythm of the year.
No one knew where they came from.
No one knew where they were going.
No one knew the secret behind these machines.
No one even realized they were machines not at first.
The technology was strange to us, but some learned how to fight back
to twist the Ultra Code against itself.
A technology so advanced…
no man could tell what generation had made it.
Ultra V.200 Notification
R.G/0.G Terminating Bio-System.
Bio-System rebooting. Termination dropped.
The same sound, the same cold voice
the Ultra Code spoke before vanishing into the fog.
Out of the millions who went to war, only a hundred came back alive.
Of those hundred, fifty were broken
legs gone, minds shattered, eyes empty.
The rest… breathing, but not alive.
Their souls burned away by what they saw.
A man stood at the corner Commander Karvus Bloodmere.
He shouted through his tears:
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn these machines!
Every time we fight we lose more than we have!"
He tore off his cap, pressed his hand to his burning head,
gripping his gun so tight his knuckles turned white.
He looked around
his soldiers, his brothers, limping, crying, half-alive.
Some missing eyes, hands, legs…
some missing the will to live.
System Notification:
"Ultra Voice: Mission complete.
Data gathered. Compatibility confirmed.
Target human.
Creating void.
Destruction sequence… initiated."
They who survived made it back to the gathering zone back inside the walls built to drive out the Ultra Codes.
A shite stood with them, clutching his gun, wondering how he'd lived through it. His name was Twilight. The old Twilight was gone; the face that looked out from his skin was filled with ghosts fathers and brothers, men older than him and men who had died. He showed no fear. He held his gun tight. He had gone to the war, but how he came back… Twilight had no answer.
He wondered in his head how he survived, but there was no way to voice it. Commander Bloodmere stepped forward. "All right attention!" He barked. Every man snapped to the salute, every man stiffened. They saluted those who had crawled back from the fields of iron. Twilight stood in the middle a child of sixteen, pressed like a coin into the rough palm of war. No one knew how he'd begun. The commander raised his voice and ordered them to hear him.
"All right, listen!" he shouted. "This is not for the weak. This is to build and to break. This is to fight for your family. To free ourselves from this control. If you are willing to fight, step forward. If not take your place inside the walls and never return."
Bloodmere's words hit hard. Men who had seen too much shuffled their feet. Some stared at the commander with suspicion he was new to them. Whispers spread: he's never been to the front; he doesn't know what he speaks of.
Bloodmere answered the silence before it could rot into doubt. "I know I have not followed you into every battle. You have not seen my face before. But I have walked the war. I have seen the world burn. I led thousands millions, some would say into a field that took them all. In Squad 0.5., a thousand went in. I was the only one who came out. The Ultra Code wiped the rest."
Silence drank the air. Soldiers' mouths closed. Their eyes searched his face for the lie, but his gaze was not of a man who had never known fire it was the gaze of someone who had been to hell and carried the smell of it home.
Twilight, the boy with the gun, still turned the question over in his chest: how had he survived? If this could be called a war it was less war and more machine-made therapy; torture dressed as strategy. It was meant to break men to drag them into despair, into a vast domain of sorrow. Twilight felt that sorrow like a current under his feet.
A word to the reader: the main character is not Twilight. As the story goes on, the true protagonist will be revealed an experiment yet to be introduced.
...................
Twilight
Out of all the men, he was the only one who stepped forward.
Everyone else turned back, walking silently into the walls.
Story Opening
Zone 4.0
The largest zone ever built and the quietest.
No one lives there.
It is also known as The Experiment Zone.
Neither the commanders nor the high-ranking soldiers the ones who rule and give orders truly know the rules of this world anymore. They know nothing about what came before. All they know is rumor that once there were treasures.
When I say treasures, I mean machines. Weapons forged before the fall machines so powerful that a single one could take down an Ultra Code.
Children were gathered in Zone 4.0 to be taught and trained not like normal humans.
This place was known as The Alchemy Zone, also called The Room.
Every child, every man brought here went through training brutal and endless to learn how to use these "treasures" left behind by those who fought the Ultra Code before history rewrote itself.
To the commanders, this was the only way to win the war that has consumed the world for years.
No one knows where these machines came from, or where they go once they finish killing.
So Zone 4.0 was formed after the discovery of those ancient treasures, the war weapons.
Weapons we had never seen before.
Guns whose bullets could pierce through iron thicker than steel.
A suit was also created by scientists who had gained strange knowledge from the changed world.
It was called the U.R. Suit.
Since the Ultra Codes were faster, stronger, and moved on four legs, this suit was designed to boost human speed and reflexes to make men move like the machines they feared. But not everyone could wear it.
That's why Zone 4.0 existed: to train children to break them mentally, to erase fear, to teach them that death is not the end.
Among all the children in this lab, there was one group known as Squad 0.7 six children:
three boys, three girls, each with a strange personality and a past no one speaks about.
They were trained and taught how to use the weapons we now call the "secret treasures."
This was the new military the New Order born from endless war.
Most of the old commanders had fallen.
Now, only four remained the rulers of the four Zones.
They made the rules. They controlled the fate of what was left of mankind.
Squad 0.7 mastered the weapons of the old world.
They were granted the right to fight under one commander
none other than Commander Bloodmere.
And the boy who chose to stay with him, to keep fighting Twilight.
