Once she came back her grandparents pulled her to a separate room as they adviced her.
"I know that you are now an adult and you can make your own decisions,"There was a slight pause before she continued,
"But just remember that once you go there you don't have to do everything that he ask of you, if you are not comfortable with the things he might ask you to do, don't do it okay? You have to say no and he can't force you but if he tries to force you to do anything against your will, you must come back here, i and your grandfather will gladly take you back. Is that understood?" Her grandmother continued on worriedly, her voice came out shaky, her anxiety was through the roof.
But she could not help it, this was her granddaughter the only child her late daughter left behind for her to protect and care for, she will not be able to bear it if anything happened to her.
The truth was, her grandparents always knew that one day Serena will eventually have to take on the world as she had been alone all her life, they know one day she would have to eventually meet the man of her dream even though they did not expect it to be a vampire king, they still knew it would still happen as she was a sweet and nice girl. They could only hope that the man will treat her with absolute respect and love her.
"Yes grandmother, I understand. You don't have to worry about me, this is something I am excited and willing to do, I will not let anyone mistreat me and beside he said I was his mate, you know how strong the mate bond is, just look at you and grandfather even without the matebond you love each other so much. I will make sure he treats me with nothing but respect." Serena told them, she knows for a fact that if her grandmother was to stop the union Eiravyn would not take it nicely and she was more than ready to go with him anywhere he goes. So, there is nothing for her grandparents to worry about.
"You should know that you will be going somewhere far and the place will be so different from what you are use to… her grandfather advice her, before he continue speaking " and we will not be able to protect you, ensure to always be the good girl you have always been." By the time her grandfather was done with his speech Serena's grandmother was already shedding tears.
"Please don't cry, I'm not going until a few days and you can always come visit me." With that she hugged her grandparents and she went to her room.
In her room, Serena sent her resignation letter to her company via email. When she submitted it she reached out to Mrs. Olivia and told her that she had sent her resignation letter and that she is traveling to another country and might never come back to this country, she also told her to take over her project and make sure they will continue producing the meal-kits, Mrs.Olivia was so shocked when she got the news, but she eventually wished her well.
The main reason Serena wanted Mrs. Olivia on the meal-kits project by all means was particularly for this reason, something kept nagging at her that she might not be able to see the project to the end and she knew for a fact that having Mr.Olivia on the project was a good thing as she would make sure she sees the project to the end, that was how committed she was and with that done Serena eventually drifted off to a deep sleep.

Serena woke up very early the next day, feeling full of life as she got ready for the day. She went down to her grandparents room to say goodbye to them before heading straight for Kathy's apartment.
On getting there Kathy was not in the sitting room, since she was already familiar with the layout of the house and everything there from her previous visit.Serena made her way to Kathy's room, she called for Kathy as she reached her room, she knocked on the door before pushing the door open.
She saw Kathy lying on her back on the bed with her cellphone sticking close to her face.
"How are you doing, Kathy?"
"How do you think I'm doing when you dumped that news on me at the art event." Kathy said sarcastically not lifting her head from her phone
Serena took a deep breath, this will be a long discussion she said to herself, "I know you don't approve of this marriage but I really do hope that you can be there for me and trust my instincts." Serena said, she looked so sad with her face downcast.
"What do your grandparents say to all this, I'm pretty sure they might have giving you a long stern speech by now to make you see my reason." Kathy asked finally sitting up properly to have a good look at Serena.
"Actually they approve of the wedding."
"W-what? What the hell… that can't be true."
"It is," Serena has always been so weak when it comes to Kathy, if it was another person that was opposing this strongly to her wedding she would not even bother to explain herself to this level but since it was Kathy the only friend that had stood by her side since college, making sure she was fine, she had to explain to her and make her understand the reason she was doing this.
Kathy suddenly reached for her hands and pulled her to herself to make her seat beside her on the bed, "the reason- the reason you are doing this hope it's not what I am thinking it is?" Kathy finally asked Serena the very question that had been disturbing her all this while.
"If it is because of the doctor's evaluation on your perceive cancer, I suggest you drop this ridiculous marriage idea now… Renie," there was a short pause "you have not even gone for a proper check up to further confirm if you really have cancer or not, I see no reason why you should rush into a marriage with a strange man, I know I've always persuaded you to get laid in case you really had cancer but marriage this early, I don't agree I'm sorry."
Serena faced Kathy her expression had turned serious, " I have been trying to make you see reason but it has all been abortive, you leave me with no choice, Kathy I have something I want to tell you and I asked and plead that you keep it between you and me." Serena finally said hesitantly with her eyes set on the carpeted floor instead of meeting Kathy's eyes.
