"Beep beep... Beep beep", the alarm blares to life as the clock hits seven making me stare in my sleep. "Viv your alarm" I murmured groggily expecting Vivian to turn off the alarm as usual but I got nothing but the annoying beeps of the alarm. "Vivi!! Turn it off for heaven's sake" I said out of irritation expecting my outburst to wake her up and turn off the alarm but instead I heard the door to my room clicking open. "Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday day dear Violet!! Happy birthday to you!!". My family chanted as they made their way into my room. Mom and Dad held up the cake while Vivian trailed behind them with a gift box in hand, the drowsiness I felt earlier vanished in an instant replaced by excitement. I sat up hurriedly bubbling with anticipation as mom and dad got close to my bed standing at each side of my bed, the cake was placed on my legs. "Happy birthday my little angel", mom said while brushing my long black hair and tusking the loose strands behind my ear.
"Happy birthday Cupcake, make a wish", my dad gestured towards the candle. I clasped my hands together, blew the candle as hard as I could till the light went out then I clamped my eyes shut silently making a wish. "Happy birthday Vi" Vivian moved forward with her gift and placed it by the side of my bed.

Later that day....
" Yo people, where's the birthday girl?" Uncle Matt said in his deep loud voice as he barged into the house with a wide grin plastered on his face. "Matt you're here" mom hugged her brother as she looked behind him to see if he brought his wife and kids. "Where is Laura and Dan?" Mom asked wanting to communicate with her sister in-law and hold her little nephew in her arms. "Laura slept off on the way here, you know she's been tired lately due to her pregnancy and Dan he's on his way, he just couldn't beat his old man in a race", he said chuckling to himself. "That's because you clearly cheated", Dan's baby like voice said as he stared blankly at his father. "Good afternoon Aunt Abby, you look so lovely as ever" Dan complimented my mom as he held her hands. "Oh my, you're such a charmer".Mom said blushing as her nephew left a kiss at the back of her hand. My dad who was already fuming with jealousy squeezed Dan by ear, "She's very much taken with two kids and a lovely husband so...back off" my dad said glaring daggers at the poor little boy.
Uncle Matt wasn't even bothered how his brother in-law treated his son, he just went straight up heading towards me and Vivian's room. "Girls!!!" He called his voice fading as he was out of sight. "Aurelia, how have you been?" Laura greeted as she was being supported into the room by her maid. "Laura!! Oh my, I'm doing well and I can see you're doing just fine. How is the little one treating you?" Mom asked seeing how round her best friend is due to pregnancy. Laura rolled her eyes as she started lamenting to her friend about how tiring it is to be pregnant and all she has to go through every day. They both sat on the sofa chatting away as always completely ignoring the man and the boy arguing in the background.
Uncle Matt descended the stairs with Vivian and I on either side of his shoulders. "Mom,Dad, Uncle Matt is taking us to the amusement park to try the latest ride" I shouted in excitement. "That sounds great, make sure you don't wonder off and If you want anything let your uncle know, okay?" Dad replied ignoring the little troublemaker by his side. Mom and Aunty Laura also agreed deciding to stay back because of Aunty Laura's condition. "Um Uncle Matt, I think I'll have to skip this one, I have a project that needs to be completed" Vivian said trying to avoid going to the park, everyone decided to let her skip on this one knowing she is acrophobic. "Don't worry Viv, I'll help you buy your favourite snacks" I said not wanting her to miss out. "Alright kids, let's get going" Uncle Matt said holding me and gesturing to Dan to hold his hand. "Don't worry Dad, I don't need to be held like a baby to find my way to the car" Dan said ignoring his father's outstretched hand and moving forward raising his head high as if he just achieved something great. Uncle Matt and I looked at each other before rolling our eyes at the egoistic boy ahead of us. We said our goodbyes as we left the house in Uncle Matt's BMW.
**After trying all the rides**
(Uncle Matt's pov)
'The surprise should have been completed by now' I murmured to myself looking at the time on my watch. 'Weren't you enjoying the ride and screaming like a banshee' Onyx my wolf teased as he burst out laughing. 'Come on Onyx, you know that's not true' I said rolling my eyes at him. 'Hehehe, are you sure Matty? What of the time you screamed like you wanted to shit?' Onyx taunted staring at me with an expression I'm all too familiar with as if he were wiggling his imaginary brow. 'On' my words were cut short as I got a mind link from one of the bodyguards I left to guard the house. "Alfa we are under attack, the vampires have invaded the mansion and we are currently outnumbered" Stan mind linked me, his voice panicked which was a rear occurrence. "What ever you do make sure the Luna and my sisters family is safe, try holding up till I get there with backup" I stated as anxiety started creeping in. 'Evan send back up to Aurelia's home, make it fast their under attack' I mind linked my beta scooping up the two 10 years olds rushing towards the car. Fear crept into my being making me shiver 'Our mate is in danger I can feel her fear' Onyx said panicking as he paces anxiously. 'Laura can you hear me?' I mind linked hoping she's safe. 'Laura please be safe' I mind linked again hoping she would reply this time. 'Matt the house is under attack, hurry they're.....' the mind link ended abruptly. 'Laura! Laura!!' I screamed internally trying the mind link over and over again. 'Stan can you hear me?' I said driving as fast as I can, the kids sitting at the back sit looking at me dumbfounded. "Dad, what's wrong?" Dan asked worriedly, I looked at him and then at Violet through the rearview mirror, they had a worried look on their faces. "It's nothing kids" I tried reassuring them but my voice have me a way as it broke at the end. 'Evan I want you at Aurelia's place right now, I don't care how you do it just be there' I said voice breaking but booming with authority.
The usual 20 minutes drive took just 5 minutes to get there. I jumped out of the the car as soon as I got there, stepping into the gate, I saw bodies everywhere, bodies of both wolves and vampires. My heart sunk at the sight of my warriors dead bodies in the ground, having no time to grieve I headed straight to the mansion only to be met with a gruesome scene.
