Chapter 1 - [horror#1] Waking up in a creepy room

A chilly breeze weaved its way through the cracked glass of a lavish room, a chandelier hanging on the roof of the opulent expanse, its glassy crystals tinkling with a quiet, almost melodious hum.

The scene was aesthetic with an unnatural, dreary ambience, which was further exaggerated by the dichotomy of a pale young man lying on the dusty carpet.

As the cold winds continued to burrow their way into the scene, some of it drifted towards the teen and landed on his neck.

The teen shuddered a bit, and then his eyes snapped open with a startled light.

He rubbed his eyes a bit and pushed his upper body off the floor, and started looking left and right with gradually increasing tension and apprehension.

"What .... where the hell is this place... and why was I knocked out cold on the floor, but before that... where are Dan and Tim...."

The boy looked left and right in search of anything that might have a bit of semblance with what he was doing just before waking up. He mumbled some curses under his breath and stood up, dusting his clothes a bit and started pacing around the room.

"I swear to god if this is some sick joke those two fu*kers are playing with me, I'll make sure they meet their ancestors in the afterlife...on second thoughts, what was I even doing before...."

The teen stood rigid for a moment, while having a perplexed expression on his face and then mumbled under his breath softly.

"That's right, those two assh*les wanted to meet up for a drinking party, and I was on my way to the subway station... through that empty street and then ??"

The teen clutched his head as if in immense pain and almost fell to the floor, knocking down a flower vase with dried white roses on a tabletop.

"*gasp* ..*huff* *huff* why.. Why can't I remember anything after that? Just what the hell is going on here ?"

The boy huffed for a breath and then steadied himself by placing his hand on the table. Looking at the dried-up roses, he had a bad premonition in his heart about this whole situation.

Gradually calming down after a minute or so, he rummaged through his pockets and found his mobile, which calmed him down a bit.

Opening his mobile up, he looked at the time, which displayed 11:57 pm. After doing so, he looked at the battery, which was just shy of 51%.

He glanced at the wallpaper, which had a picture of him standing with Daniel and Timothy outside an amusement park while making ridiculous faces at each other. Gradually moving his gaze towards the network bar, he saw that there was no coverage for either of his SIM cards, which was frankly ridiculous for where he lived.

"Just what the fu*k is going on? I just randomly woke up in the middle of a creepy room with broken windows and piles of dust all over, and there isn't any coverage for my mobile... am I still dreaming ?"

The boy pinched himself on his thigh and yelped out loud, his voice echoing through the hollow walls.

"Definitely not a goddamn dream, what else? Is this some kind of divine punishment for all those hours of gaslighting people online?"

He joked with himself, trying to make sense of this situation, but alas, joking wasn't going to help him in this matter.

"Okay .. for real though, what type of shit*y situation am I in here, no clue on how I got here, no way of contacting anyone, and every time I try to remember what I was doing I get a fuc*ing migraine, sweet... what else"

After a while of thinking aloud, he shook his head and tried looking around the room for something to help him with... whatever this situation was.

The room was lightly illuminated by the moonlight coming from the windows, just enough to make out everything in the room without using his mobile's flashlight.

The walls were coloured green with slight moss growth at the corners of the room, which were fairly far from the windows. The room had a sofa at the centre with a glass table in front of it, right around the edges of the room were tables adorned with various flower vases with dried-up contents.

A faint fragrance drifted into the room from the windows. Intrigued, the boy stepped towards the cracked window and peered outside and saw a wild field with a dilapidated boundary of stones around a hundred meters away. The sweet aroma was coming from the wild jasmine shrubs dotted down below on the ground floor.

The scene looked a bit creepy and a lot terrifying. After shuffling around a bit, he turned back and looked inside the room once again. He looked towards the ceiling at the chandelier, which was twinkling with the moonlight, then gradually his gaze fell on the rows of paintings on the walls. After tottering here and there around a bit, he finally found a wooden door which was battered, like someone had tried to claw their way into the room. One of its hinges was torn, and the door was tilted slightly forward.

" Fuc*ing hell. Where the hell have I gotten myself?..... I need to leave this place as soon as I can. This is giving me a very bad feeling."

Feeling an Imperceptible chill run down his spine, the boy took some steps forward and peeked outside the door. He looked right and left to scout out the area. Feeling the ambience of the place, he was terrified to his bones. Gradually, he mustered up his courage and tried to step outside.

'I swear to God if I make it out of this place alive, I'll donate all my savings to the orphanage.'

Finally stepping outside, the boy turned right and started to move at a leisurely pace. After walking two or three steps, he looked at the window right beside him, where a large painting was hung in which a war of epic proportions was depicted, 'most probably a meaningless conflict,' the boy thought.

One thing the boy found odd was that in the picture, at the edges of the people fighting, some dark figures were lingering with twisted faces and unnatural limbs. With their faces being entirely blurred out without any distinguishing features, this reminded him of a movie he once saw titled 'Slender Man'.

After a few seconds, he shook his head and continued to move forward. While he was moving forward, there was some misty dark fog seeping out of the room he had just been in, with slender tendrils extending out, clawing at the edge of the door.
