Synopsis
Kaito Aizawa built a crossover-anime Pokémon game and sprinkled in a few fangame elements. The moment he finished the backstory… he got isekai’d into it. “Am I out of my mind? Why did I make this world so dangerous?!” Luckily, the protagonist’s cheat—his golden finger—came along for the ride. Game or not, this isn’t a joke. If the heroines lose, it’ll trigger **defeat CGs**! Chitanda Eru: “Actually, we can do without【compensation time】.” Shokuhou Misaki: “Can the current Misaka even compare to me? Not one bit, right?” Yukinoshita Yukino: “Do not compare my sister with me!” Sakurajima Mai: “You’ve got so many ‘local wives’—so who’s the one you love most? There isn’t an option other than me.” And so, bearing titles like “Kept Man,” “Know-It-All King,” “Breeding Tycoon,” and “Kanto’s Strictest Dad,” Kaito marches on to become the strongest Trainer.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Early March in Japan, the worst stretch for hay fever.

A teenage boy walked down the street, completely bewildered.

"Did I just transmigrate? Into the game I made?!"

Kaito stared at the unfamiliar street ahead, not knowing where to go.

One second ago, he was at his desk pondering the game's plot.

The next second, he had directly crossed into the game he'd been making.

What kind of expression was he supposed to wear at a time like this?

Which god had so much free time to mess with him?

Good news: he was much younger now, and the body that 996 had worn down was healthy again.

Bad news: this game world was not safe!

Kaito had set the game to be full of spicy content, but the worldbuilding itself was dangerous.

Just like that Pokémon fan-work "Master of One-Time Deals," Kaito liked to dig for plot inside the spice.

A game like this couldn't be sold openly at Todai, and Kaito only made it for his own amusement.

He never expected something like this to happen.

"Why did I bring trouble on myself?!"

"If there's spice, that's enough—who needs plot? Who needs worldbuilding?!"

Kaito lightly slapped his own face.

There was pain; this wasn't a dream!

He really wished it were.

Because he'd only set the background—he hadn't even figured out the actual story yet!

The world wasn't complete, and he'd already transmigrated. What was he supposed to do with that?

Now he'd even lost the advantage of foreknowledge!

"What is this world going to turn into?"

"Can someone send me back home?"

He looked up at the sky, hoping a dump truck of fate would run him back where he came from.

Unfortunately, all he could see was a familiar prompt box.

[Please enter your name]

He'd been working on this very box when he transmigrated.

After crossing over, he found the box had come along too.

Because this box existed, he knew he was inside the game.

"Fine, I'm here already."

Giving up on the sweet dream of returning, Kaito typed his name into the empty field.

[Kaito]

[Confirm?]

"Yes."

[Please choose one Pokémon as your starter.]

A long list of Pokémon Kaito knew by heart unfolded.

"If this part came with me, does that mean the cheat I set for the game also came?"

Kaito perked up.

If so, then the heavens hadn't completely cut him off.

Otherwise, in a world full of crises, he really didn't dare say how long he could survive.

He hadn't figured out the plot, but he had set the character backstories.

And by his settings, Japan alone could be called "a land of gifted people and fierce spirits."

Kanto's Champion, Aresta, was, per the setting, aiming to capture Ho-Oh and resurrect his family, willing to pay any price.

The Osaka area's Champion, Jewelon, had ties to Giratina in the Distortion World and was working hard to prevent the world's collapse.

Most troublesome was the Champion of the Northeast Island region, Makima—she was orchestrating a shocking, colossal conspiracy.

With power levels in Japan already absurd, the Dongda side was, naturally, even stronger.

According to Kaito's design, the Dongda Champion, Yuto, had signed a pact with the Rayquaza clans and was the strongest Trainer of the era.

Even as the creator, Kaito couldn't say what kind of sparks would fly when these people clashed.

After all, he hadn't figured out the story yet.

In a world like this, without a cheat, Kaito truly had no confidence he would last long.

"Which Pokémon should I pick?"

He stared at the entire list, falling into deep thought.

To prevent the world from being destroyed, to maintain peace, he had to grow stronger quickly.

The Pokémon on the list were roughly equal in talent.

Base Stat Totals were all above 520, Individual Values were all over 150 total, and potential was uniformly quasi-Elite Four tier.

No matter which he picked, Kaito could make it work—there wasn't a huge difference.

He tried to recall everything he'd set up.

With a cheat in hand, he didn't need to worry about early-game growth—what he should worry about was the future.

"By my settings, a few special Pokémon will also change the protagonist's background when chosen."

"That's the real key—there's a huge opportunity on the Dongda side."

Kaito scrolled up and down, and finally found a dignified little pup.

"Then it's decided—it's you, Growlithe!"

A Poké Ball appeared in front of him.

[Open Growlithe panel?]

"Yes."

[Growlithe]

[Type: Fire]

[Level: 5 (Newborn)]

[Talent: Quasi-Elite Four (Lv. 60–69)]

[Friendship: 70 (Max 255)]

[Ability: Intimidate (Purple)]

[Base Stats: Grade C (350)]

[Individual Values: Grade A (157)]

[Moves: Tap to expand]

"IV total 157, not bad."

Seeing the key line, Kaito nodded in satisfaction.

By his settings, a starter's IV-total ranged from 150–159.

IVs are split into six stats, each up to 31, for a max total of 186.

Once the IV-total reached 155, the system rated it Grade A.

With a 157 total, this Growlithe was pretty lucky.

Kaito took out the ball and released Growlithe.

From the outside, Growlithe didn't look much different from an ordinary dog.

Precisely because of that, compared with all sorts of oddly shaped Pokémon, Growlithe tended to be quite popular.

"I'll be in your care from now on, Growlithe."

He reached out and petted its head.

"Arf!"

Growlithe barked excitedly, tail wagging nonstop.

It finally had a Trainer!

[Growlithe Friendship +1!]

"Next up, my cheat."

Kaito drew a deep breath—this was the crucial step.

With the ability to view panels, he could be an outstanding appraiser.

But that alone wasn't nearly enough.

The cheat he'd designed for the game's protagonist was the key of keys.

[Name: Kaito]

[Trainer Rank: None]

[Owned Traits: One Beyond Fate (??? )]

[Owned Pokémon: Growlithe (Lv. 5)]

"Such a clean panel. But this alone is enough—it means I can copy Traits from others and from Pokémon."

Kaito smiled.

Good thing the cheat he'd prepared was fairly powerful.

"Hey, you over there—are you trying to get yourself killed? You can't release Pokémon on a public street!"

A passerby—Horikita Suzune—cut into his thoughts.

Other than Kaito, no one could see the game panels.

So in Horikita Suzune's eyes, he was just spacing out with a Growlithe out.

"...Oh, sorry. I'll return it right away."

Kaito recalled Growlithe.

By the setting, forty years ago in this game, Pokémon had begun integrating into this world.

As for a foreign species like Pokémon, humans reacted very realistically:

They fought.

Naturally, Pokémon didn't flinch either—they had once been called "monsters," after all.

Led by certain battle-hungry Legendaries, the Pokémon side stood very united.

The two sides fought for over forty years, leaving each other battered and bruised.

In the end, the upper echelons on both sides reached a cooperation agreement, and now they were barely coexisting in peace.

Among the people, most supported order and peaceful coexistence, though there were loud voices of opposition.

Walking a Pokémon down a main street—even a popular one like Growlithe—was not allowed.

Some people would genuinely lose it if they saw it.

"Remember this for next time. Don't do it again."

"Are you a Trainer too? Want to duel in the park?"

After the lecture, Horikita Suzune also took out her own Poké Ball.

She'd noticed earlier that the Growlithe looked like it had only just been born.

Newborn yet imposing—that was a worthy opponent.

She'd just received a new Pokémon herself and was eager to find someone to fight.

"...Are you sure you want to duel me?"

Kaito hesitated, itching to move.

By his settings, this game wasn't just a "comprehensive anime Pokémon" mashup.

Especially for the heroines—if they lost a duel, there would be a defeat CG!

"Are you scared?"

Horikita frowned.

Kaito flared up on the spot.

"...Who's scared? If you want a fight, then we fight!"

"Don't say I didn't warn you—you asked for this!"
