Chapter 1 - 1. Meet up

Somewhere on earth, there is a big island far from sight of people. Even if this is middle of ocean, there is no difference of a big high tech city. Even airport, roads, hotels and building is even more advance.

Who knows how much have spent to create this miracle in middle of ocean ?

But there is a young man standing in front of a big building. With his dull attire and style, he is out of tune. Such a high tech rich place and no more than hundred yuan dress, is there any comparison.

Except for his handsome look with his well fitted body. If his attire would some fashionable, he may be really suit here.

An old man in a butler's uniform approached slowly, his posture straight and refined. When he saw the young man, he stopped and gave a respectful salute.

"Fifth Young Master."

The young man smiled faintly. "Butler He, it's been a long time since we last met. You still look the same as ever."

The old man's face creased into a warm smile. "And you Young Master Lin Zhan, have become a man in these ten years."

Lin Zhan nodded lightly and stepped forward. The entrance gates opened with a soft hum as the two walked into the grand estate. It was less a mansion and more like a palace — yet unlike ancient ones filled with gold and jade, this one shimmered with smooth metal and faint blue lights, its walls flowing with digital veins. The mix of elegance and technology gave it a sacred, futuristic aura.

As they walked down a long corridor lined with floating lanterns of holographic glow, a tall young man with bright red hair came from the other side. His eyes lit up the moment he saw Lin Zhan.

"Fifth brother! Long time no see." The red-haired youth grinned. "If I didn't already know you were the last one to return to the family, I might not have recognized you."

Lin Zhan's lips curved slightly. "Second brother Lin Chen… with that hair, you're the easiest one to recognize."

Lin Chen laughed, not minding the teasing. "Still sharp-tongued as ever. Butler He, leave us. I'll take him from here."

Butler He bowed slightly and excused himself. The two brothers began walking side by side through the corridor.

Lin Chen glanced at him from the corner of his eye. He was tall, with a lean and lazy frame — the kind of body shaped by comfort rather than battle. His calm, handsome face carried a faint edge, the kind that came only from enduring years of hardship. Combined with his bright red hair and confident smile, Lin Chen looked more like a celebrity who could steal hearts in some party pubs.

As they walked, Lin Chen asked casually, "So… how was your time in the outer cities? I heard you were sent to Korea."

Lin Zhan's expression darkened slightly. "If you remove the first few years, it wasn't much better after that."

Lin Chen chuckled, though his tone was somewhat bitter. "Heh, I was in New York. That wasn't any better either. God knows who suggest those old geezers to send their family children to send out to train himself.'"

As they reached the end of the shining corridor, a massive black gate loomed before them. Its surface was etched with faint runic lines that pulsed with a dull crimson glow, giving off a sense of solemn authority.

When the gates parted, a soft hum echoed — and the scenery beyond shifted drastically.

Instead of the expected modern architecture, a quiet garden stretched out before them.

Emerald grass swayed gently under the sunlight, and a faint fragrance of spiritual flora drifted through the air. The contrast between high-tech surroundings and this serene natural haven was striking — almost unreal.

Several figures were already waiting in the garden.

Lin Chen smiled lightly. "You should meet them. After all, they're your brothers — though I doubt you've seen them in years."

Lin Zhan nodded and stepped forward.

The first man stood tall, with sharp, sword-like brows and an aura of composure. His dark suit clung to a body that radiated control and confidence — the First Brother, Lin Hao, known for his calm authority.

Beside him stood a youth with messy silver hair and clear eyes, a little more easygoing — yet a faint trace of arrogance flashed between his movements. That was Third Brother, Lin Yue, the prodigy of the Combat Division.

The last one was shorter, his features softer and more youthful, with traces of immaturity still clinging to his expression — Fourth Brother, Lin Feng, the second youngest among them.

They all turned as Lin Zhan approached. A brief silence lingered before recognition sparked in their eyes.

"So, the fifth finally returns," Lin Hao said evenly, though a faint smile touched his lips.

"It's been ten years," Lin Yue added, grinning. "You almost made us forget what you looked like."

Before Lin Zhan could respond, the air changed.

A sudden gust rippled through the garden. Shadows trembled — and then, without a single sound, an old man appeared before the stone seat at the far end. His arrival was so abrupt it felt unreal, like a ghost stepping out of the void.

The man stood straight, tall despite his age, his frame still firm and sharp as iron. A faint crimson fire mark burned on his forehead, and his eyes glimmered like twin suns hidden behind storm clouds.

Even before he spoke, an invisible pressure spread out.

The air thickened — like the gravity of the world itself had multiplied.

Lin Zhan's breath caught; his lungs strained as the invisible weight pressed down upon his shoulders. His knees threatened to buckle, yet he forced himself to stay upright.

This pressure...

Lin Zhan clenched his fists silently.

So this is the strength of the Lin Family Head... He had already know in his memory, but feeling it firsthand was something else. For the first time in years, he truly felt powerless.

The old man's deep voice rumbled, calm yet carrying immense authority.

"Let me see," he said lightly, "how much your so-called training has improved your bodies. Show me — the result of ten years outside."

The pressure increased sharply.

The stone floor cracked under their feet; faint ripples spread across the marble ground. The third and fourth brothers gritted their teeth, their knees bending slightly.

Lin Shan — the old man — chuckled lowly. "Did I not tell you? You may use your energy as well."

At once, pale-blue energy burst from Lin Feng's body, like frost blooming in midair. The pressure around him eased slightly as he straightened his spine again.

Beside him, Lin Yue released his white internal force, shimmering like silver mist.

Lin Shan's gaze moved slowly between them, his sharp eyes gleaming.

He could see through them — their bones, their bloodline flow, their cultivation state — everything laid bare beneath his divine perception. And then his gaze landed on Lin Zhan.

For a brief second, Lin Zhan felt as if a pair of fiery eyes had pierced straight through his soul, dissecting every secret he held. He cursed silently in his heart.

Old geezer… still as terrifying as ever.
