Long ago, man and God walked the land as one until an incident occurred. This incident brought about the raging fury of the Ruler God, the God of gods, Fei.
By Fei's decree, each and every single god was to return to their domains, dominions, and realms, and never to descend upon the Mortal Plane ever again.
With the absence of the gods to carry out their divine will and duties, the mortal world fell into disarray and chaos. Fei, witnessing this, allowed the gods to create or bestow their power on a being to carry out their will and duties. These beings were known as Avatars, the representation of the gods.
Initially, this arrangement worked smoothly, allowing Fei to take a long nap lasting hundreds of years. However, upon awakening, Fei found the mortal plane once again engulfed in chaos.
When the gods were granted the ability to create Avatars, no limit was initially placed on how many each could produce. Consequently, new rules and laws were established to address the situation.
According to Fei's new decree, "A god can have a maximum of three personal Avatars and one Mixed Avatar. An Avatar may serve a maximum of two gods." Furthermore, this rule included a provision: a new Avatar slot only opened upon the death of the previous one.
Despite these strict limitations, the gods, masters of divine bureaucracy and loopholes, immediately circumvented the restrictions by creating multiple Mixed Avatars in collaboration with other gods. By endlessly partnering with different deities, they were able to continue multiplying their influence, ensuring that the Mortal Plane remained saturated with divine presence, even if it was thinly spread and often contradictory.
This is the world inherited by Helen Phi, the Mixed Avatar of Teleute, Goddess of Death, and Cyrius, God of Justice. And this is the world that demands absolute divine perfection, a perfection consistently undermined by her assistant, Titan, a demigod of unparalleled intellect and spectacular ineptitude.
