Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: New Environment

Chapter 2: New Environment

In a suburb of Westchester, New York, stood an ancient building.

It was an old castle with an English architectural style.

Surrounding the castle were wide, clean lawns, and further beyond, a dense, verdant forest.

Directly in front of the castle, there was also an artificial lake.

Under the moonlight, it reflected the myriad stars, appearing serene and peaceful.

In the dead of night, a hazy, ethereal silhouette silently flew into the sky above the castle.

The phantom outline slowly descended, and upon reaching a certain height, gradually revealed its true form.

It was none other than the aircraft piloted by Charles and his companions.

At the same time, as the aircraft landed, the lawn below automatically and slowly opened a gap to both sides, revealing a spacious underground area.

Soon, the aircraft landed and parked, and Aiden, Hank, and Charles stepped out of the vehicle.

Upon exiting, Aiden curiously surveyed his surroundings.

This underground space was very large, likely about half the size of a football field, but that was only the visible area; perhaps there were even larger spaces elsewhere.

Numerous unidentifiable pieces of equipment were placed in various corners, clearly indicating this was a research facility.

"Aiden, you go with Hank; he'll arrange your accommodation.

Remember to take a good shower and get a good night's sleep; this will be your new home from now on," Charles said with a smile.

"Let's go, young man."

Hank patted Aiden's shoulder, motioning for him to follow.

Aiden waved to Charles and then followed Hank.

Following Hank, they walked and then took an elevator to the ground floor, emerging from an office with antique decor.

"The first floor is for classes, the second floor is the cafeteria, the third and fourth floors are dormitories for students and teachers, the fifth floor is for facilities like the infirmary, library, and study rooms, and the sixth floor is for recreational areas like the game room and gym.

There's also an air-raid shelter under the school, used for ability training."

As they walked, Hank introduced Aiden to the layout of the facilities within the manor.

Led by Hank, the two arrived at a room in the dormitory area on the third floor of the castle.

Click… The dark room was instantly illuminated by the lights.

The room was clean and tidy, with two clean beds, their bedding neatly arranged.

Clearly, this was a double dormitory.

However, seeing the beds so neatly made and devoid of personal belongings, it was clear no students had moved in yet.

"This will be your room; perhaps a roommate will move in later," Hank said with a smile.

"Okay," Aiden nodded.

Although he preferred to live alone, this was, after all, someone else's territory.

One must be content; compared to his previous life wandering the streets, surviving by petty theft, this current environment was already excellent.

At the same time, he felt extremely fortunate.

When he was wandering the streets alone before, he hadn't exposed his abilities.

He knew that in this World, ordinary people harbored great hostility towards Mutants.

Many organizations would even capture Mutants for research and dissection.

No matter how powerful those Mutants seemed in movies, the lower-class Mutants often lived worse than dogs.

"There are school uniforms in the wardrobe.

First, take a good shower, and I'll bring you some food later.

Oh, what do you like to eat?" Hank asked at this moment.

"Anything that fills my stomach will do," Aiden said casually.

"Alright, I'll be back soon."

Watching Hank leave, Aiden walked back into the dormitory and entered the bathroom.

Looking at his dirty but youthful figure in the mirror, Aiden's thoughts raced.

Now that he had settled down and his future life was secured, the next thing he needed to do was to find a way to become stronger.

Only by becoming strong enough could he live stably and avoid becoming cannon fodder, unnoticed in the various events of the future.

After all, this World was far from as simple as it appeared in the movies.

Thinking of this, he slightly closed his eyes, and his mental power extended outwards like a tangible, invisible hand.

Splash… The sound of running Water began, and the showerhead in the bathroom automatically turned on, Water spraying down.

Aiden's ability was actually very simple: psychokinesis.

This ability, which had appeared in numerous movies and TV shows, could be said to be commonplace.

But it had to be said that psychokinesis was also very comprehensive.

If developed properly, the potential of psychokinesis was limitless.

Perhaps because he was still young, the range his ability could affect was only about two meters in diameter around him, and the weight of objects he could control was also very limited, at most only a few kilograms.

It could be said to be pitifully weak, with nothing outstanding.

But Aiden was not discouraged.

The so-called weakness was only limited by his current physical condition, age restrictions, and the immaturity of his ability.

As long as he trained diligently, and with the accumulation of time, his ability would naturally become stronger and stronger.

Even Magneto, one of the two poles of Mutants, was only able to have small bursts of power when he lost control of his emotions as a child, wasn't he?

Having secretly formulated a training plan for his abilities, Aiden took off his dirty clothes and began to wash himself.

About half an hour later, Aiden, dressed in clean clothes, looked completely different.

His previously dirty face was replaced by a White, rosy complexion.

Exquisite features, bright black eyes, and a head of black, choppy hair falling behind his head—he was truly a handsome young man.

Looking at his somewhat mixed-race appearance in the mirror, Aiden couldn't help but feel satisfied.

Indeed, a good appearance.

What puzzled him was that after he transmigrated, he had no memories of his previous self in his mind.

He wasn't concerned about his background either.

After all, he had been an orphan in his previous life and had long passed the age of being fixated on such matters.

Knock knock knock… Just then, there was a knock at the door.

Aiden walked out of the bathroom, reached out to open the door, and saw Hank holding a tray with milk and spaghetti.

Hank, looking at the refreshed Aiden before him, couldn't help but be momentarily stunned.

"Hey, young man, you're quite handsome.

You'll surely charm many girls in the future," Hank praised.

"Thank you."

"The cafeteria chef is off work, and I didn't know what you liked to eat, so I made some spaghetti, which I'm pretty good at.

I hope you don't mind," Hank handed over the tray he was holding.

Smelling the aroma of the food, Aiden's stomach also let out a timely "rumble."

In the past few days since he transmigrated, he had mostly been familiarizing himself with the environment and his abilities, and had barely eaten a full meal.

"Thank you, it smells delicious!"

After thanking him and taking the tray, he began to eat.

Although hungry, Aiden's eating was not rushed; instead, he chewed slowly and thoroughly, completely pulverizing the food before slowly swallowing it.

Doing so was less burdensome for a stomach that had been hungry for a long time and made it easier to absorb, reducing the chances of getting sick.

Hank was very happy to see that Aiden didn't dislike his cooking, and his face was full of smiles.

Seeing him eat happily, he didn't bother him there, waved to Aiden, and left.

Perhaps it was due to prolonged hunger, but the food was quickly eaten, and Aiden felt his body regain a good deal of strength.
