Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Library

Chapter 4: Library

But after only a few bites, Aiden felt a sense of being watched.

He looked back and saw a small red head just lowering.

Aiden's eyes flickered, and after a moment's thought, he picked up his tray and walked towards the girl's table.

Beside him, Charles noticed Aiden's actions, and the corner of his mouth slowly curved into a smile.

"Hello, my name is Aiden."

Aiden sat directly opposite the girl, smiling as he introduced himself and extended his fair hand.

"You're not afraid of me?" The child looked up at Aiden, her sapphire-like eyes full of curiosity and surprise.

"Why should I be afraid of you? You're not a man-eating monster!"

"Besides, we're all the same kind, aren't we?" Aiden said with a smile.

As he spoke, he raised his hand, and the bread on his tray automatically floated up to his mouth, and he opened his mouth and ate without using his hands.

It wasn't until Aiden used his telekinesis that the girl opposite him understood his meaning.

No wonder she had just felt a sense of closeness from the boy in front of her; it turned out they both had the same ability.

Seeing Aiden eating happily, a smile also appeared on the girl's usually expressionless face.

"My name is Jean, Jean Grey."

The girl said her name with a smile, and at the same time, the food on her tray also slowly floated up, mimicking Aiden's actions as she ate.

The actions of the two of them seemed so out of place among the surrounding children.

Charles, who noticed this scene not far away, couldn't help but show a gentle smile.

After breakfast, the next thing, of course, was to do what children of this age should do.

What else can teenagers do?

That is, study and attend classes.

The Mutant Academy founded by Charles, after taking in Mutant children, not only taught them how to better control their powers but also allowed them to study and learn like normal people.

Having lived two lives, Aiden naturally understood the importance of reading.

Knowledge is the most important thing for the progress of human civilization.

Accumulating enough knowledge is also very helpful for the development of abilities.

But what made Aiden a bit helpless was that most of the students in the school were children around his age, and the knowledge that could be learned in class was very limited.

A class quickly passed, and being at an age that loved to play, the students all rushed out of the classroom like unbridled huskies, playing in the spacious green lawn outside the manor.

Many students even used their abilities, not having to worry about being pointed at.

After all, everyone here was a Mutant.

Aiden, however, didn't go to play with these children but went directly to the library on the fifth floor.

As expected, there was no one else in the library, which was a good thing for Aiden.

The library was very large, with shelves full of books, roughly estimated to have tens of thousands of books, which showed Charles's wealth.

Before long, Aiden had selected the books he needed, holding a pile in his arms and levitating a few with telekinesis.

The categories of these books were indeed basic introductory subjects such as physics, biology, and chemistry.

The knowledge he had learned in his previous life had long since been returned to his teachers.

And he wasn't sure if the physical rules of this World were the same as in his previous life, so it was worth relearning them.

It's worth mentioning whether it was because he was a transmigrator, or because the psychokinesis he awakened was related to the spirit.

His mind was very active, he could remember everything he saw, and his comprehension of knowledge far exceeded that of ordinary people.

As he read, he also used his telekinesis to control the books, making them spin in the air and perform various actions, which was a form of multitasking, reading while exercising his abilities.

In just one afternoon, he had finished reading and digesting the content of more than a dozen books.

His initial judgment was that the physical rules of this World were not much different from his previous life.

The only difference was that this World had all sorts of strange and wonderful super-powered individuals.

Just as he was about to continue with more profound books, a voice sounded in his mind.

"Aiden, you are very studious, which pleases me, but you must also pay attention to balancing work and rest. Come down for dinner quickly; it's not too late to read tomorrow."

The voice was none other than Charles.

Presumably, because he had been out of sight all afternoon, Charles noticed and, seeing that he was still preparing to continue reading, spoke up to remind him.

Hearing this, Aiden looked at the sky outside the library and realized that it had already gotten dark.

Indeed, when one is focused on doing something, one doesn't feel the passage of time.

"Okay, Professor!" Aiden responded and then left the library.

Returning to the cafeteria, it was still as crowded as during the day.

He again got a large plate full of food and sat down in front of Jean Grey.

"Is your appetite always this big?" Jean looked at the piled-high plate and couldn't help but complain.

"Of course, studying is very tiring. If I don't eat enough, how can I have the energy to read!" Aiden said indistinctly, chewing food in his mouth.

"So you spent the entire afternoon reading?"

Aiden nodded, simultaneously shoveling a large mouthful of noodles.

"You're such a bookworm."

Seeing Aiden's gluttonous appearance, Jean Grey couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Loving to learn is not shameful, but having prejudice is!" Aiden glanced at the little loli, which made the girl fall into thought.

After dinner, Aiden returned to his dormitory and didn't rush to shower or sleep but continued yesterday's training.

When he once again enveloped the nightstand with his telekinesis, it was no longer as strenuous as yesterday, and it was also more stable, no longer swaying as it did yesterday.

He controlled the nightstand, making it rise and fall, until his brain once again felt a wave of dizziness before he stopped exercising.

Then he went into the bathroom, enduring the dizziness in his brain to wash off the sweat from his body.

After washing off the sweat, he collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

This was his first day at X Academy.

The second day's life was much the same; after breakfast, from ten to twelve in the morning, he would attend Charles's class.

After the dry and boring lessons, Aiden would once again dive into the library.

For him, he could acquire more useful knowledge in the library than in the classroom.

In the blink of an eye, two months had quietly passed.

At a table in the corner of the library, Aiden was engrossed in a book.

"You are indeed here!"

In the quiet library, a voice suddenly rang out, instantly startling Aiden, who was immersed in his sea of consciousness.

Following the voice, he saw a girl with fiery red hair draped over her shoulders, wearing denim overalls and a pair of small red shoes, walking towards him.
