Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Roommate Danny

Chapter 6: Roommate Danny

Just as Aiden was doubting his life, the corner of his eye suddenly noticed Charles and Hank walking out together, heading towards the school gate.

Aiden immediately became interested.

From their appearance, it seemed they were preparing to welcome someone.

Could it be that some important person was coming?

Thinking of this, Aiden directly got up, wanting to go and see.

"Where are you going?"

Seeing this, Jean couldn't help but ask.

"Look over there, Professor and Hank are walking towards the gate. Someone must be coming. Let's go and see, it's not like we have anything else to do."

Hearing this, Jean also became interested.

Before long, the two arrived near the gate.

Noticing someone approaching, Charles looked back and saw Aiden and Jean.

"It's you two. Perfect, Aiden, I'm about to introduce you to a new roommate."

Roommate?

So, a new Mutant had joined?

This was something Aiden hadn't expected.

He had thought it might be someone important, like Mystique or Magneto.

Besides Charles and Hank, and Jean who hadn't grown up yet, he hadn't seen any of the other characters from the original story.

After waiting for about a few minutes, the sound of an engine from outside the school, gradually approaching, drew near.

Before long, a black vintage car appeared in everyone's sight.

The vintage car drove into the school and stopped in the plaza at the entrance.

With two sounds, the car doors opened, and two figures stepped out of the car.

One large, one small, they appeared to be a father and son.

Both were dressed in well-tailored black suits, behaving gracefully, looking like they came from a wealthy family and were well-educated.

Especially the adult man, who exuded an elegant demeanor in every gesture, like a very cultivated gentleman.

"Hello, Mr. Xavier, I'm Edwin, whom you've been in contact with. This is my son, Danny." Edwin smiled and shook hands with Charles, then pointed to the young man standing quietly beside him.

As his father introduced him, everyone's gaze turned to the young man.

Seeing so many people looking, the young man raised one hand to his chest, with the other hand behind his back, and gave a standard gentleman's bow to everyone.

"A very polite child. Thank you for your trust, Mr. Jarvis. I will teach him well to control his abilities." Charles smiled and nodded.

Saying that, Charles waved to Aiden again.

"Aiden, come meet your roommate."

Hearing Charles's call, Aiden, who was in a daze, immediately snapped back to attention.

His gaze fell on the young man, and then finally on the face of the other's father.

Feeling the gaze, the young man's father, named Edwin, nodded slightly towards Aiden, revealing a warm smile.

Aiden also smiled politely, but his eyes were a little dazed.

However, he quickly calmed his thoughts, walked to the young man with a smile, and extended his hand.

"Hello, I'm Aiden, your roommate."

"Hello, I'm Danny, Danny Jarvis. It's a pleasure to be your roommate." The young man also extended his hand, but unlike Aiden's complex gaze, Danny's eyes held a hint of excitement.

"Oh, by the way, I forgot to introduce you. This is Jean, she's in the same grade as you." Charles then pointed to Jean, who was standing beside Aiden, and introduced her with a smile.

"Hello!" Danny politely extended his hand, wanting to greet Jean.

Jean hesitated for a moment, secretly glanced at Aiden, and then extended her hand to shake his.

Seeing that the three seemed to be getting along well, Charles showed a knowing smile.

He looked at Aiden and said, "Aiden, since you're here, you can take Danny to familiarize himself with the school for me. We still need to catch up with Mr. Jarvis."

After giving this instruction, he didn't wait for Aiden's response and led Edwin towards the school.

Seeing this, Aiden nodded.

He waved to Danny and said, "Let's go, I'll show you around."

Danny nodded, his eyes full of curiosity and excitement, and followed Aiden, carrying a small suitcase.

As for Jean, she also followed.

She was very curious about what the boys' dormitory was like, whether it was really the pigsty everyone said it was.

And so, the three walked towards the school together.

Just like when he first arrived yesterday, Aiden followed the same procedure Hank had used to introduce him, taking Danny to various places to familiarize him with the environment.

Finally, he brought Danny to his dormitory.

"This is our dorm. I sleep on this bed, so you'll have to choose the other one." Aiden said, pointing to the other empty bed.

"It's fine, I don't mind."

Danny wasn't as delicate as he appeared. After choosing his bed, he immediately started making it.

"Is this where you live? It doesn't look much different." Jean surveyed the room's environment.

The room wasn't large, with only two beds, essential wardrobes, and furniture.

Aside from that, there weren't any other personal belongings.

After all, Aiden hadn't left since he arrived, had no source of income, and no money. Even if he had money, the nearest mall was very far from the school.

Therefore, the dorm looked a bit empty.

"It's good enough to live in. Compared to where I used to live, this is already much better." Aiden said with a smile.

Hearing this, Jean's face was full of confusion.

Danny, however, asked curiously, "Was the place you used to live in very bad?"

"I'm an orphan. I never had a place to live before, or rather, any place on the street that could shelter me from the wind and rain was where I lived."

"I'm so sorry! Aiden!" Danny apologized to Aiden very sincerely.

Jean, standing beside him, also had eyes full of self-reproach, as if blaming herself for speaking too much.

"I... I'm sorry..."

Seeing this, Aiden smiled and waved his hand, pretending to be nonchalant, saying, "That's all in the past. Now I have a home, and you are my family, my friends, aren't you?"

"Yes, we are all friends, family!" Danny looked at Aiden seriously.

As for Jean, she also looked at Aiden with red eyes, nodding heavily.

The seeds of friendship among the three began to sprout on this day.

"Oh, by the way, Danny, what's your ability?" After the three had a laugh, Aiden casually brought up the topic.

As soon as he heard Aiden's question, Danny visibly became excited.

Without him doing anything, he simply extended both hands towards the air in front of him.

Sizzle... As he extended his hands, Aiden saw that the space in front of him seemed to distort slightly.

The next moment, a thumb-sized, golden, spherical energy field appeared out of thin air in front of the three of them.

However, this energy field only appeared for a moment before disappearing directly.

"Hoo... hoo..."

Danny lowered his hands, his chest heaving violently, as if he had expended a lot of energy.

"My ability is... this... I... I don't know exactly what it is, but it can generate a golden energy field. And..."

At this point, Danny took a deep breath, calmed his breathing, and then continued, "And this ability is sometimes effective and sometimes not, and it consumes a lot of energy. Just now, forming this ball almost made me collapse."

Aiden rubbed his chin, recalling Danny's ability in his mind, searching through the Mutant movie clips he had seen, but he didn't find any similar abilities.

It seemed to be a new ability he had never seen before.

But he was not surprised.

After all, according to his memory, Jarvis didn't seem to have a son, only an adopted grandson.

He guessed this World was another parallel Universe.
