Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Shield? Eat My Kick!

"What's with the injuries on your body, and this strange power within you?" Yu Jin asked, casually chopping away some obstructing bushes in front of Garura.

"Nothing, just some experiments done to me, and I became like this. As for that power, I don't know where it came from," Garura responded to Yu Jin's question in a low voice.

She only knew that after waking up, she was in a Fatui laboratory. As for what was done to her, no one told her, and she didn't want to know.

"Is anyone else there?"

"No, the laboratory was destroyed. Only I and Collei escaped," Garura said with lingering fear.

When the laboratory caught fire, she and Collei barely managed to escape with all their might. Afterward, they had to face the endless pursuit of the Fatui. Those days were truly terrifying.

Garura looked at Yu Jin in front of her and carefully asked, "Yu Jin, do you have a destination?"

Yu Jin scratched his head awkwardly, "To be honest, I'm completely in the dark about this place. I don't know where to go."

Then he said as if sighing, "No goal, that's really not a good feeling."

Garura's ears perked up when she heard him. She said with some surprise, "Then let's go to Mondstadt! I heard it's the only place on the continent that hasn't signed a protection agreement with the Fatui."

"And it values freedom. I believe Collei will go there too." As she spoke, a hint of longing appeared in Garura's eyes.

"Do you know the way?"

"Yes."

"Then let's go! To Mondstadt!"

With that, Yu Jin directly carried Garura on his back, and his speed suddenly increased!

"Ah!!! Too fast!!!"

"Don't scream, give directions!"

"Oh."

Even with her headdress, the strong wind still made Garura's hair fly up. The scenery in front of them constantly changed, and Yu Jin was like a flash of light, darting through the dense forest.

It was late at night, but the darkness and strong wind didn't make Garura feel any cold. Because she was on Yu Jin's back, a constant stream of warmth emanated from him.

It was like, like a furnace. Garura felt the warmth and thought so.

The strong wind dissipated. Garura, who had been squinting, opened her eyes and asked Yu Jin, who had stopped, "What's wrong, Yu Jin?"

"Look," Yu Jin said, pushing aside the dense bushes in front of them and gesturing to Garura.

Garura looked in the direction Yu Jin was pointing, only to see a flat clearing in front of the bushes.

A bonfire was lit in the center of the clearing, and several strange creatures were dancing a peculiar dance around it. Further away, more creatures that looked like their kin were watching their dance.

"Hilichurls! And Mitachurls and Samachurls!" Garura exclaimed. Judging by the number of Mitachurls inside, this camp was probably quite large.

"What are those?" Yu Jin asked curiously. He had an extraordinary curiosity for new things, especially for creatures.

"They are the most common monsters on the continent. They attack anyone they see, very fierce!" Garura watched for a while, then wondered, "

That's not right. The Whispering Woods shouldn't have such a large Hilichurl camp. This isn't Dadaupa Gorge."

But just as she lowered her head in thought, Yu Jin walked straight into the camp.

"Hey! Hey! Yu Jin, what are you doing! It's dangerous!" Garura saw Yu Jin walk into the Hilichurl camp and anxiously warned him.

Then she saw Yu Jin squatting on the ground, saying something to these Hilichurls, followed by a group brawl.

In between, Yu Jin made strange shouts such as "Stop hitting me! Stop hitting me!", "If you hit me again, I'll get angry!", and "That's sixteen cuts already!"

As Garura expected, the Hilichurls completely ignored Yu Jin's shouts. Soon, a Mitachurl grabbed Yu Jin's leg and threw him out of the camp.

"Bang!" Yu Jin landed, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Hey! Yu Jin, are you okay?" Garura hurried to Yu Jin's side, shaking his body repeatedly.

"No, I'm fine, just about to be shaken unconscious by you." Yu Jin patted Garura's hand a few times, realizing that Garura's hand didn't move at all.

This little girl is quite strong.

Yu Jin looked at Garura, who was now smiling through her tears, and could only silently roll on the ground once before standing up.

"Yaya, Zido!" Yu Jin had just stood up when he heard the Hilichurls in the camp yelling and rushing out.

"Damn it! Yu Jin, you step back first!" Garura saw the Hilichurls running towards them, baring their fangs and claws. She took a step forward, shielding Yu Jin behind her.

"Hmph..." The familiar black aura began to flow around Garura again. However, before Garura could do anything, a warm iron hand rested on her shoulder.

"Haha, there's no reason for a child to protect an adult. Garura, just watch. Battle is a bit too early for you. Children should play more."

Yu Jin exerted force, pulling Garura behind him. At the same time, a new power flowed from Yu Jin's hand into Garura's body, and the restless remnants of the gods immediately quieted down.

Garura looked at Yu Jin, noticing that he had a plain straight sword in his hand at some point.

She originally wanted to say something, but Yu Jin, holding his weapon, exuded an absolutely cold aura that made her a little scared, and the words she wanted to say got stuck in her throat.

Yu Jin held the sword in one hand, looking at the Mitachurl leading the charge with its shield raised.

The Mitachurl's shield was over two meters tall, like a thick, heavy door. The Mitachurl's muscular physique behind the shield gave off an immense pressure.

At this moment, it was running quickly towards Yu Jin, holding its shield. The immense force caused dust to rise over a meter high behind it.

"I originally wanted to communicate with you properly, but it seems that won't work!" Yu Jin muttered, then ran directly towards the Mitachurl.

Just as the two were about to collide, Yu Jin kicked out. His leg was like a giant spring, instantly releasing all the accumulated power!

Kick – A combat skill that involves raising the foot high and kicking forward. It is very effective against defending enemies, capable of making them lose their balance.

A common combat skill, but performed by Yu Jin.

"Boom!!!" A huge air bubble spread out from Yu Jin's kicking foot, destroying everything in its path.

After the dust settled, a trench over a meter wide and about ten meters long had appeared out of nowhere on the originally flat camp ground.

"Kuzi!" The remaining Hilichurls exclaimed in shock, then scattered like birds and beasts.

Yu Jin watched their fleeing figures and didn't pursue them, because the souls of the Hilichurls who had just died had been absorbed into his body. They were somewhat special; they were transformed humans.

"Garura, how much do you know about Hilichurls?" Yu Jin put away his weapon and turned to Garura.

"Huh? Oh! Not much. I know they're very common, and it seems like their numbers suddenly increased about five hundred years ago."

Garura recovered from her shock, answering somewhat distractedly.

She quickly ran to the location of the trench, looked left and right, then looked at Yu Jin, and ran over to ask curiously,

"Yu Jin, where's your Vision? Can I see it?"

"Vision? What's that?" Yu Jin was a bit confused. He hadn't heard of it; it seemed to be a specialty of this world.

"None?" Garura looked incredulously at the trench on the ground, then at Yu Jin, who was shrugging.

"None," Yu Jin confirmed.

"Impossible! How can you be so powerful without a Vision!" Garura still didn't quite believe him.

Yu Jin was silent for a moment after hearing that, then said, "Martial arts. I used martial arts of extremely high purity!"

Garura's eyes lit up at his words, then she bounced around Yu Jin, saying, "Teach me, Yu Jin, teach me!"

Looking at the vibrant Garura in front of him, a faint smile couldn't help but form on Yu Jin's corpse-like face inside his helmet.

He waved his hand and said, "Don't rush. First, tell me what a Vision is."

Garura quieted down. She bit her finger, pondering, "

I think I heard that a Vision is a God's recognition of a person. When a person's wish is strong enough, the God will cast their gaze upon him."

"Only those with a Vision can use elemental power, which is why those with a Vision are so powerful."

As Garura finished speaking, she suddenly felt an eager gaze directed at her. She looked up and found it was Yu Jin's gaze.

"Stare--"

This time, it was Yu Jin circling Garura.

"Where's your Vision? Where's your Vision? Let me see!"

"Yu Jin, what are you doing!" Garura couldn't stand Yu Jin's eager gaze and said with some annoyance.

"I'm looking at your Vision," Yu Jin said, stopping and speaking earnestly.

"How could I have a Vision!" Garura yelled at Yu Jin, speechless, then she looked a little dejected.

"The ones who experimented on me were the subordinates of the Cryo Archon. How could I possibly have a Vision?"

Yu Jin crossed his arms at her words. Slaying Gods? He was quite familiar with that.
