Chapter 1 - Humans and Monsters

It was the year 18xx, the monsters were thriving and the humans that felt like outcasts had been living amongst said monsters. The monsters followed their King with great respect and would do anything to fulfill his orders. The others who were considered strong in their own ways, accompanied the King with love and encouragement. The King, who called himself by the name Asgrin, just smiled in joy, seeing how much faith everybody put on him.

The humans saw the advances that the monsters were making with how quickly they were improving upon weapons, agriculture, rune formations, magic spells and much more. The humans felt uneasy, almost scared that they were being steadily approached in skill and knowledge. The Emperor of the land got notes of this information, gripping a hold of his thrones arm rest, a disgusted and angered expression washed over his face. He stood up, eyeing down at everybody, his presence giving all of them a scare, as well as intimidating them. With one word, the men were ordered to blend in with the other human town folk that lived within the monster walls.

A dark, ominous cloud was formed above the human kingdom. Rain poured down onto the hard rocky ground and thunder crackled across the sky, the ear deafening sound booming through the air.

The human town folk within the monster kingdom just conversed with others. The humans within the walls showed love towards monster kind and weren't bothered by their presence at all, they helped one another, made bonds, and even relationships. Slowly, overtime, more and more settled humans were missing. Missing person posters were being nailed into the info board outside the town hall, the monsters looked, some full of grief and others worried as the missing people had obviously made a form of connection with those monsters.

The human spies walked among the others, some having their faces covered whilst others hid in the shadows. Some monster kids would see the people in the shadows, tugging against their mothers or fathers wanting to get their attention. "Mommy, daddy, there is a strange man in the shadows!" The child pointed towards where the man was, but the instant the child looked up at the mother and father, the spy had already been gone. The father and mother turned, a little anxious from their child's words, but as soon as they turned and saw nothing, they calmed down.

The mother looked down at her child as she put her hands on her head. "Oh sweetie, you shouldn't say stuff like that! You nearly gave mommy a heart attack!" The father crossed his arms and sternly looked down onto their daughter. The daughter, knowing she saw something tried reasoning with them, she stuttered and didn't know how else to prove her point. "Enough." Said the father, "We will be having a long talk once we get back to our home. The situation is already dire enough with all the missing people."

Within the kingdom, the leading captain of the royal guard, Gerson Boom walked down the hallway, his heavy armor clinking with each step. Gerson approached the throne of Azgrid and Talia dreemurr, kneeling down. "Your majesties, I come with horrible news that we have not yet found the perpetrators of which had caused the sudden mysterious disappearance of our human town folk."

Azgrid, looking down in pent up anger let out a long exhale. "Captain Gerson, you may stand." Gerson looked a little timid, standing up as he could feel the King's anger boiling within him. "Yes, of course your majesty." The King then stood up, walking down the stairs as the Queen just stared, not uttering a single word. The king put his hands on Gerson's shoulder, his monumental height of 10ft being rather intimidating, however, he knew he could count on Gerson.

"You are the best of the best, I believe in you and I know that you have the capabilities of being able to solve this." Gerson was moved by this, smiling and nodding. "I won't disappoint you! I promise my King." Azgrid turned around as two of his men had already prepared something for him. "For being such an excellent example of a royal guard, I gift you this.." Azgrid grabbed ahold of what looked to be a hammer, the hammer was imbued with celtic monster magic as a deltarune marking was deeply engraved into the middle of the hammers head.

Gerson looked at it, its size massive and even being relative to his own. Gerson stood at a height of 7.5ft (228cm), being above the average height of the royal guards, which is also what made him so strong due to the height advantage. He let the head of the hammer rest on the ground as he held the handle, putting his fist up against his torso. "I promise to master the hammer and let it be not just my weapon, but my partner in crime."

As days passed, Gerson had been noticing less and less human town folk within the city walls. At the edges of his peripherals he swears he could see hooded figures appearing and vanishing from thin air.

One of the spies appeared next to his buddies, crossing his arms and leaning against the tree as the leaves completely hid him. "There he is, the leader of the royal guards." The spy said, looking over to his buddy. "He is about to go to his usual location to train, so let's take him to the boss once he is done training."

His buddy smirked. "Smart, not only will he be exhausted, but I highly doubt his senses will be as keen." The two then chuckled quietly, vanishing into thin air.

Gerson shrugged to himself, preparing to go to his usual location where he trains. As he passed down the gravel road and large hillsides, he then entered into a thick forest where he set camp. As hours passed, Gerson was seen covered in sweat, his body exhuming vapor due to how much his body has warmed up. He set his hammer down against a log, grabbing ahold of a water canister, chugging it down. "Man, I'm getting too old for this." Said Gerson, rubbing his forehead.

Leaves kept on rustling around him, branches snapping and the sky becoming much more cloudy than usual. "Huh, it looks like a rough storm is brewing." He looked up as some rain drops fell on his body. "Ahh, this feels really good." He closed his eyes, feeling the cold rain droplets fall on him, cooling him down. His relaxation was then interrupted by a sudden whoosh as a dagger flew straight towards him.

Though exhausted, his senses didn't seem to have died down. Moving his hammer with his leg, the dagger snapped in half as one of the spies whispered. "The hell, you said he was going to be tired!" The spy looked worried. "Yeah I thought so too, I didn't know this old man was so careful."

"I can hear you, in fact, I heard the both of you back at the kingdom as well." Gerson said, grabbing ahold of his hammer and smirking. The two spies then jumped down, their feet slooshing against the mud. "The hell you mean you heard us, that is impossible!" Gerson just let out a laugh. "Wahahaha! I'm not ancient yet!" He spun his hammer around his fingers shooting out yellow-ish hammer head energy apparitions towards them.

The two spies dodged, their bodies zipping across the surroundings at speeds of which normal eyes couldn't perceive. "You ain't beating us old man." The two spoke in unison, throwing daggers, some even coated with a paper which exploded upon contact. Gerson jumped from one foot to the other, using his hammer to throw himself upwards with a swing, using the mud under him to coat the papers containing their mini blasts. "Dont be so sure of yourselves youngin'."

Using the weight of his hammer he spun around and shot out hundreds of yellow hammer head apparitions, a majority of them were fake to trick the spies into moving into certain spots. The spies, knowing which ones were fake due to their energy senses, decided to play along. Gerson felt the hammer's weight by now, it was exhausting him further so he tried to hold on.

As the two spies got into position, Gerson spun his hammer at such speeds that it formed a solid wheel, one of the spies grabbed hold of the other as they teleported to one of the papers that didn't blow up. Gerson, noticing this didn't stop and instead just increased his power output making the hammer glow a bright orange. The rain droplets felt like they were moving at a snails pace as his pupils slowly turned over to the two spies, his smile widening "THIS, is REAL strength kiddos!" said Gerson, impacting the mud with such force that it transferred all of the energy all over the thick forest, causing a category 5 earthquake.

The might of 9.3 megatons impacted so hard, his armor was torn to shreds and a massive explosion blew every tree, rock, soil and mud into the sky. The spies screamed out as their bodies got flung miles away meanwhile Gerson was standing within a deep crater, the entire forest around him now torn to shreds with trees scattered all over the place. "I believe I went a little too hard on that one.. Well they dont call me Gerson Boom for nothin'!" Gerson jumped out of the crater, still having just enough energy to walk back home.

"I didn't get their faces.. But I have a sneaking suspicion that I might know who sent them."

Meanwhile, within the monster kingdom walls, they were hit by the category 5 earthquake. Screams echoed through the kingdom as the earthquake stopped as fast as it came, thankfully, only doing minimal damage by throwing small ceramic or glass objects on the floor. Azgrid and Talia were both awake, running out to check the commotion only to see their kind running around. Azgrid huffed out, ordering out loud, his voice booming "SILENCE." Azgrid's magic took effect in calming everybody's heartbeat down slowly, their overwhelmed panicking senses going back to normal.

Talia looked at Azgrid, smacking their head "You didn't have to do that!" she shouted. Azgrid, just chuckling "Well, it calmed them down didn't it?" Talia rolled her eyes, flicking her fingers as a miniature tornado formed by her wind magic started putting every dropped item back where it belonged. Azgrid then saw someone approaching the kingdom walls from afar, his eyes squinting. "Who may that be.. Oh.." Finally seeing who it was, both the King and Queen walked over.

Talia spoke, her voice sounding concerned as she started healing up Gerson's tired muscles and body. "What happened to you?" Gerson looked over at the both of them, sitting down. "A pair of spies attacked me at the end of my training session." The town folk gasped out loud as all that was heard from them were questions and chitter chattering. "Spies?" .. "What spies.." .. "There's spies?!" .. "Thank goodness he is okay."..

King Azgrid looked in a random direction, his eyes showing anger. "I believe I may know who is behind this attack." Azgrid turned back towards his kingdom, ordering out loud. "Everybody, go back to your homes and go to sleep! This may not concern any of you, for you are all safe within these walls! And you, Gerson, come to my quarters in the morning." Gerson just nodded as Talia just followed Azgrid.

Gerson looked at his open hands, clenching them into fists. "I promise to retrieve and save all of the humans that were taken away.. All of the humans that rightfully deserved to live here."
