Chapter 7 - The challenge and the entrance trial.

The sun was shining brightly over Demon's Fang Village, but Rosie barely noticed. Her mind buzzed with the power of the Starbound Charm, and her wooden spoon glowed softly with energy. Today was unlike any other day.

As she practiced near the village stream, a shadow suddenly loomed over her. She looked up and saw a tall boy standing confidently, wearing fine clothes with the cultivation school's emblem—a silver phoenix blazing across his chest.

"I'm Jin," he said smoothly, eyes sharp and proud. "I'm ranked second in the cultivation school, and I'm here to challenge you."

Rosie blinked. "Challenge? Me? I'm just a Starry Seed... with a wooden spoon."

Jin smirked. "That spoon won't save you. But this challenge isn't just a fight—it's a test."

Jin explained the school's entrance trial was coming. To join, a candidate must defeat ten other challengers—strong cultivators from the village and beyond—in a series of battles.

"You must fight and defeat ten enemies," Jin said, eyes locked on Rosie. "Only the last one standing will join the school."

Rosie's heart jumped. Ten enemies? It sounded impossible.

Before she could say more, Jin threw out a challenge, "Show me what you've got. Fight me first!"

Though nervous, Rosie clenched her glowing wooden spoon and said, "I'm ready!"

The fight was fast and fierce. Jin moved like the wind, summoning sharp energy blades and powerful strikes. Rosie dodged and countered with bursts of glowing Qi from her spoon, faster than ever thanks to her charm.

Though Jin's skill was far greater, Rosie's speed and determination surprised him. She wasn't just a poor girl anymore—she was a challenger.

As the fight ended with Jin stepping back, impressed, Master Solaris stepped forward.

"The trial starts next week," he announced. "Ten opponents. Only one winner joins our ranks."

Rosie stared at Jin and then at the path ahead. Fighting ten enemies alone was daunting, but she refused to back down.

Her voice steady, she said, "I will fight... and win."

That night, beneath the stars, Rosie held her glowing spoon tightly.

"Ten enemies, one winner," she whispered. "I have my charm, my heart, and my will. I can't fail now."

The path to the cultivation school was tougher than ever—but Rosie was ready to face every challenge.
