Chapter 6 - The magical necklace and the overnight star.

Morning in Demon's Fang Village was usually quiet, but today it buzzed with whispers and excitement. Rosie woke to find Milo standing outside her door, grinning like he'd just uncovered the secret to eternal snacks.

"Rosie! You won't believe what I found!" he shouted.

Rosie rubbed her sleepy eyes. "If it's another exploding cabbage, I'm not interested."

"No, no!" Milo held up a small velvet pouch, its golden thread sparkling in the sunlight. "This! I found it hidden in the old forest near the waterfall. They say it's a necklace blessed by the Star Spirits."

Rosie blinked. "Star Spirits? Like, the ones that control cultivation?" Her tiredness melted into curiosity.

They hurried to the village elder, a tiny but wise old woman named Granny Mei, known for knowing everything strange and magical in the surrounding lands.

Granny Mei examined the necklace carefully. It was simple—a jade pendant carved with ancient runes hanging from a silver chain—but it shimmered softly with a strange light.

"This necklace," Granny Mei said in a hushed voice, "is rare indeed. It is called the Starbound Charm. Legend says it can multiply the wearer's cultivation speed by ten times."

Rosie's jaw dropped. "Ten times? Are you serious?"

The elder nodded. "Yes, but beware. Such power must be used wisely, or it can overwhelm an unprepared cultivator."

Rosie's heart pounded. If this charm truly worked, it could change everything. No more slow progress, no more struggling against the huge spirit chickens alone, no more being the village laughingstock.

"Can I... try it?" Rosie asked, her voice trembling with hope.

Granny Mei smiled kindly. "Only if your heart is strong and your intentions pure."

Rosie nodded firmly. "I'm ready."

Carefully, Granny Mei fastened the necklace around Rosie's neck. The moment the jade pendant touched her skin, a warm glow spread through her chest, flowing outward like gentle waves.

At first, everything felt calm. Then, suddenly, Rosie's body tingled—her energy rushing faster than ever before. It was as if the sleepy river in her chest had become a roaring waterfall.

"Whoa!" Rosie gasped. Her blue eyes sparkled with the newfound power.

Master Solaris arrived just then, sensing the shift in her Qi flow instantly. "The Starbound Charm," he murmured with a smile. "With this, your journey accelerates—but remember, speed is not everything. Control and wisdom must follow."

Rosie took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She focused on her Qi, feeling it pulse rapidly through her body and into her wooden spoon.

She imagined the glowing thread from earlier weaving through her veins like lightning, charging every part of her.

To test her new power, Rosie raised her spoon and channeled Qi into its tip. The spoon burst with a brilliant blue light, brighter than before.

With a determined yell, she swung—and a beam of energy shot out, flying faster and stronger than any pulse she'd ever made.

The targets from before—the wooden circles and tall bell—quivered as the blast zipped through them, leaving a glow in its wake.

Milo erupted into cheers. "Rosie! You're a cultivation superstar now!"

Rosie laughed, feeling lighter and more confident.

But then, the sudden rush of power made her dizzy. She wobbled on her feet and almost dropped the spoon.

Master Solaris caught her gently. "Remember, young one," he advised, "the charm speeds your cultivation, but your body and mind must keep up. Train wisely, or you risk burning out."

With that caution in mind, Rosie spent the next days practicing carefully. The charm's boost was incredible. Moves that once took hours to master now felt natural. Her Qi thread flowed as smoothly as a calm river, her spoon pulses sharp and powerful.

She even managed a small trick no one expected—she used her Qi to create tiny glowing stars that danced around her hands like playful fireflies.

The villagers soon noticed the change. Whispers turned into amazed conversations. The pink-haired girl with the wooden spoon was no longer the laughingstock—she was the village's bright hope.

Old Mrs. Tan whispered, "Who would have thought? That girl is glowing like a real star!"

Even the local kids tried to copy her moves, though none could get their Qi to sparkle quite like hers.

One clear night, Rosie stood alone on a hill outside the village, looking up at the star-studded sky. She touched the jade pendant softly. The Starbound Charm pulsed warmly against her skin.

"I promise," she said quietly, "to use this power well. To get stronger, to protect those who believe in me, and to make my dreams come true."

As the stars twinkled above, Rosie realized her journey was shifting into high gear. The path to becoming an Eternal Star Master was still long, but now, for the first time, she had a real edge.

Her wooden spoon wasn't just a kitchen tool anymore—it was a beacon of hope, glowing with ten times the power.
