Chapter 13 - Welcome to Cultivation School — Chaos, Classes, and Crazy Dormmates

Rosie woke up on her first morning at the cultivation school feeling a mixture of excitement, nerves, and a touch of confusion. She lay in her new dorm bed, staring at a polished wooden ceiling that looked way too fancy for her tastes. The little wooden spoon charm tied to her belt jingled softly, like a tiny bell reminding her she belonged here now.

She rolled out of bed and tried to stand on her sore legs. Training and battles had left her muscles tight, but her heart was pounding with joy. Today, she wasn't just Rosie from Demon's Fang Village — she was Rosie, the new Starry Seed, a student at the famous cultivation school.

Rosie threw on her school robe, which was a bit too big and smelled like... well, old socks mixed with fresh bamboo. Milo appeared outside her door, juggling three fruit buns and grinning like he'd won a lottery.

"Morning, Rosie! Ready to get schooled?" Milo joked, tossing her a bun.

Rosie caught it gratefully, taking a bite. "I think so... but honestly, I have no idea what's going on."

Milo shrugged. "Neither do I. But I'm pretty sure chaos follows us wherever we go."

Their first stop was the grand hall where hundreds of students gathered. Big banners fluttered — "Welcome New Students!" and "Aim For The Stars!"

Rosie felt small among so many faces, some glowing with powerful Qi and swords that looked like they belonged in legends. She squeezed Milo's hand for courage.

They were greeted by the school's headmaster, a tall man with a beard that looked like a waterfall and a robe covered in sparkling stars.

"Welcome, young cultivators," he boomed. "You are here to train, to grow, and to reach your highest potential."

The crowd cheered, but Rosie noticed Milo rolling his eyes. "Sounds fancy, but I'm just hoping we don't get homework," he whispered.

Their first class was called "Qi Control Basics." The classroom was a massive garden with floating rocks and glowing plants. The teacher, a cheerful lady named Mistress Luna, smiled warmly.

"Today, we learn to feel the flow of Qi through the body," she said, closing her eyes and breathing deeply. "Feel the energy, like the gentle breeze or the calm river."

Rosie sat cross-legged and tried to do the same. But instead of calm, she felt itchy, and when she stretched her arms, a mosquito bit her nose. She shook it away discreetly, but Milo burst out laughing.

Mistress Luna asked everyone to send their Qi into their hands. Rosie concentrated hard, imagining glowing threads flowing through her. She sneezed loudly right at that moment, causing a few students to chuckle.

"Bless you!" Milo whispered with a smile.

Next up was "Weapon Bonding 101." Rosie's wooden spoon got a lot of curious looks. One student whispered, "Is that a cooking spoon?"

Rosie blushed but proudly held it up. "It's a Starbound Charm wielder's secret weapon!"

The teacher tried not to laugh and asked, "What makes your weapon special?"

Rosie explained the glowing Qi and the Starbound Charm necklace. She even showed off a tiny light trick, making her spoon sparkle like a disco ball.

Some students clapped, while others raised eyebrows. Milo whispered, "You just made spoon magic cool."

Lunch was an adventure of its own. Rosie and Milo sat in the crowded cafeteria, surrounded by students arguing over dumplings and rice balls. Rosie tried to eat quietly but somehow got herself covered in sticky sauce when a flying chopstick went rogue.

Milo laughed so hard he almost dropped his food. "You really know how to make an entrance."

The biggest surprise of the day came when Rosie met her dormmates. Their room was small but filled with noise and chaos — snoring students, loud music, and a debate about who could grow the biggest cultivation crystal.

One dormmate, a tall, skinny boy named Fang (not the vine whip guy, a different Fang!), challenged Rosie immediately. "You think your spoon is special? Wait 'til you see my crystal grow!"

Rosie grinned, "Game on!"

That first night, as the dorm settled to sleep, Rosie lay awake thinking about the day. The school was bigger and crazier than she imagined, but it felt like home. She hugged her glowing spoon and whispered, "Tomorrow, we train harder. And maybe keep the sauce on the plate."

Her spoon seemed to twinkle in agreement, lighting the path ahead.
