Chapter 6 - King's Piece

After I saw the exorcists moving toward Masaomi, I teleported right in front of them. They were stunned when I suddenly appeared.

"You're coming with me," I said, placing my hand on Masaomi's shoulder.

"Who the hell are yo—?" He didn't finish because I teleported us away instantly.

The exorcists stared at the spot we had vanished from before running off in pursuit.

"Who the hell are you, kid!?" Masaomi yelled.

"Relax, I'm just here to help," I said calmly.

"Where are we?" he asked, looking around.

"Far away. They won't be able to track us."

"Who are you? I doubt you're just some ordinary kid."

"You can call me Yuudai. Just a simple human," I said indifferently.

"A simple human kid could do all that?"

"Enough talk. Don't forget we have someone to save."

"You're right—Cleria! We got separated when they started chasing me."

"Don't worry about it. Oh, and what's your name?"

"Masaomi Yaegaki."

"Alright, Masaomi, relax. We're gonna save your girl," I said, bumping my fist lightly against his chest to encourage him.

"Let's go. I doubt Cleria can hold out much longer."

After our brief talk, I searched for Cleria's aura until I found her fighting off about twenty-five demons. I teleported us inside the barrier to deal with the trash.

"Masaomi, listen. I'll distract the demons. You and Cleria escape. I'll catch up with you later," I said as we ran in.

"Are you insane? They'll kill you!" he said, clearly worried.

"Don't worry. Because I'm the strongest," I said with a confident grin.

"I don't get why the hell you're helping us."

"I'll tell you later. For now, let's fight," I said as we reached Cleria.

As expected, we saw the bodies of two of her pieces on the ground. Cleria herself was lying there, half-conscious and badly injured. Masaomi's eyes filled with rage.

"Hey, guys! Don't you feel bad ganging up on a helpless girl?" I said mockingly.

"Heh… who the hell are you, brat? How did you get past the barrier?" one of the demon leaders said.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm just a human," I said. All the demons laughed. "But the strongest one of all," I added confidently.

"Hah! Stop joking, human. Guys, kill him. I'll deal with the Belial girl," the demon said, turning back toward Cleria.

Like lightning, I teleported in front of him.

"Ah, ah, ah, buddy. Your opponent's me."

"Filthy human!" he shouted, trying to punch me in the face—but his fist stopped dead in midair as it hit my Infinity.

That shocked him. "Hey, want to see something really cool?" I asked, raising my hand like a gun. "Convergence… Divergence… Cursed Technique, Reversal: Red."

BOOM! The attack blasted him, but he survived—so I punched him, sending him crashing through the roof above.

From a distance, Masaomi thought, This freaking idiot…

"I haven't mastered that technique yet," I admitted with a slightly sadistic grin, "but I'll kill all of you anyway."

"BASTARD HUMAN!" Ten demons jumped at me at once.

"Too weak." Using my control over gravity, I created a repulsion field, launching all of them away like ragdolls. The ground shattered everywhere except the spot I was standing on.

"Masaomi, take Cleria and get out of here," I said. He nodded and ran to pick her up, carrying her in true anime-princess style. (My time to carry someone like that will come… I thought, anime tears in my eyes.)

"M-Masaomi," Cleria said weakly, barely opening her eyes.

"Cleria! Please hang on, I'll get you to safety," he said desperately.

"Romeo, you better get going. It's about to get ugly," I said with a sadistic grin, glancing at the demons as Masaomi ran off with Cleria in his arms.

"Alright, now you guys… you're going to entertain me until I get bored. Then you die. How's that sound?" I said cheerfully, removing my glasses.

The demons attacked—some in close combat, others firing magic circles from a distance. Every blast stopped cold against my Infinity. I finally countered, picking up a rock from the ground and using my gravity repulsion to fling it at one demon's head at insane speed. It went straight through.

The others froze, enraged by their comrade's death.

"THE WORLD!!!" I shouted, freezing them all in time for half a second.

In that tiny window, I wiped out the rest.

"Another success for the list," I said, stars in my eyes. "Even if it's not the original The World, ever since I saw that scene in JoJo's, I just have to say it every time."

I started searching for Masaomi and Cleria but couldn't find them at first.

A few minutes later, I spotted a horrible scene—Masaomi badly injured, protecting an unconscious Cleria.

"Argh… damn it… I'll kill you all!" Masaomi shouted, standing with his sword despite his wounds.

"Give up. There's no escape," one of the exorcists—Toji—said, clutching his side.

"No. I'll protect her… even if it costs me my life."

"Then die!" Toji roared, charging at him.

I teleported right in front of him and punched him in the face. Sorry, future father-in-law, I thought silently.

"Sorry for being late," I said, standing in front of Masaomi.

"Y-Yuudai…" he muttered with his last bit of strength before collapsing.

"Rest, my friend. I'll handle things from here," I said, catching him before he hit the ground.

"Now… all of you die," I said coldly.

I grabbed the first exorcists I saw by the head, slamming them into the ground and stealing their time in an instant. The others froze, terrified.

"YOU'RE A DAMN DEMON!" one of them screamed.

"No. I'm not a demon. But I might as well be one in a human body," I said with a sadistic grin.

I lowered my gravity, launched forward, and kicked one in the head, knocking him out cold. Three more tried attacking me from behind, but I repelled them, disarmed them, then used Blue Rotation to smash their bodies together, killing them instantly.

When it was over, only Toji was left alive. I put Cleria on my back, slung Masaomi's arm over my shoulder, and teleported all of us to my house.

My parents probably thought I was asleep, but nope. I laid both of them on futons, healing their wounds before resting myself.

A few hours later, Cleria woke up.

"Where… Masaomi!" she gasped, rushing to embrace him.

"Hey, keep it down," I said.

She turned defensive. "Who are you? And where are we?"

"Yuudai Gojo. Call me Yuudai. This is my house, and I saved both of you."

Her eyes widened. "Saved us? But you're just a kid."

That ticked me off a bit. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Look, let me explain."

I told her everything that had happened.

"I see… thank you so much for saving us," she said, bowing slightly. "But why did you help us?"

"Just a whim. But I do want something in return."

She tensed up.

"Not your body or power," I said quickly. "I just want strong allies."

"Allies? For what?"

"You'll see… in the future," I said with a confident smile.

"I want you and Masaomi to become my allies. That way you can repay your debt to me." I held out my hand.

"Fine. I accept your alliance," she said, shaking it.

"I also know you were being hunted because you discovered they were using King Pieces in the Rating Games, right? And for having a relationship with an exorcist, if I'm not mistaken."

"Yes. The King Piece boosts demonic power ten to a hundred times over. Production of those pieces was banned, but some devils still use them in the Rating Games. There are even politicians and council members who secretly support it. When I found out the truth, they tried to silence me—and wiped out my entire nobility," she said, tears in her eyes.

"When Masaomi wakes up, I'll send both of you out of Japan. That way, you can live peacefully," I said. She looked at me with hope.

"And Cleria, can you create portals to the Underworld on paper?"

"I think I can, but I need to recover a bit first."

"Alright. Then we wait," I said, glancing at the still-unconscious Masaomi.

Hours passed. The guy was still sleeping. Finally, I kicked him hard enough to roll him into the wall.

"Hey, lazybones. It's been hours. Get up already," I said irritably.

"WHAT THE HELL, YUUDAI!? Where—" He didn't finish before hugging Cleria tightly.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Masaomi said, tears streaming down his face.

Cleria stroked his head. "Don't blame yourself. It's over. We're safe now," she said gently.

After a while, Masaomi calmed down. I told him about the alliance, and he accepted immediately.

"Alright, ready?" Cleria handed me the papers with the magic circles.

"Thanks, Cleria. I guess this is goodbye," I said, drawing the teleportation circle on the floor.

"Thank you, Yuudai, for everything," Masaomi said, bowing. Cleria did the same.

"Thank you both too. Step into the circle," I said. They did. "I'll send you to Italy. How's that sound?"

"Italy sounds wonderful," Cleria said, stars in her eyes.

"This is goodbye."

"No. This is see you later," Masaomi said with a smile.

"Yeah, see you later. Oh, right—these papers will let you contact me anytime," I said, handing them over as they waved and teleported away.

"Finally done… ugh, I need sleep. Too much work for my tiny body," I muttered, heading to bed.

(...Wait, maybe I should visit the Gremory family? …Nah, time for a time-skip jutsu. Sleep first.)
