Chapter 9 - Consequences

POV Yuu

Well… how do I even explain the beating I got when I got back to Grigori? Let me summarize it for you.

The day after I trashed Neberius, I went back to Grigori. Like the amazing friend I am, I was going to thank Azazel for letting me go to the Underworld.

The moment I stepped out of the portal into Azazel's office, I was greeted by two punches to the head courtesy of Penemue and the old man himself.

"YOU RECKLESS BRAT, HOW DARE YOU GO AND ATTACK THE NEBERIUS HOUSEHOLD?!" Azazel shouted at me.

"YOU ARE SO IRRESPONSIBLE! You have no idea how worried I was when Azazel told me!" Penemue said, angry but also worried at the same time.

"Relax, I appreciate your concern, but I already killed the bastard I needed to kill."

"Ahhh… sigh… You're not going to the Underworld again unless you tell me first," Azazel said.

"Yeah, Yuu, I agree with Azazel. Even though you have enormous power, you can't be that reckless against any enemy," Penemue added.

"Okay, fine, I won't be reckless like that again… (So this is what it's like when people actually care about you… BUT THEIR CONCERN HURT A LOT!)" I screamed in my head.

"Alright, now tell me what you did there—" Azazel began, but he was interrupted by the door slamming open as Tobio and Vali walked in.

"Yuudai! Why the hell didn't you take me to the Underworld so I could kick some demon ass?!" Vali yelled, a vein popping in his forehead.

"Hey, Yuu, are you hurt? Were you able to defeat the demon?" Tobio asked, worried.

"Relax, guys, I'm fine. I already beat up the guy I had to defeat," I said, waving my hands back and forth.

"You never share, Yuu," Vali said, arms crossed, eyes closed.

"Phew… what a relief," Tobio sighed, hand on his chest like his soul just came back.

"Hey, wanna have a little three-way sparring match?" I said, looking at both of them.

They both nodded.

"Alright. If I win, you both have to give me a foot massage. But if I lose, I'll give you guys one," I said with a grin. Vali and Tobio froze and looked at each other.

"You're not getting away that easily, brat," Azazel said, grabbing my head with a dark aura.

"Okay, okay, I'll explain!" I said, panicking a little.

After explaining, I beat both Vali and Tobio with my own two hands, and they had to give me a nice little foot massage.

Time Skip

A year has passed since that day, and a lot has happened.

I turned nine. My relationship with Vali and Tobio became like real brothers. Obviously, I was declared the oldest. Why?

Near the end of the year, we held a noodle-eating contest to decide who would be the big brother. Of course, I won—but barely. Turns out Vali can eat a LOT of noodles, but even he couldn't compete with the bottomless pit stomach of Majin Buu.

The final score: Me first, Tobio second, Vali third.

"Hey Vali, all that arrogance, and you lost in your own game," I said, mocking him, barely holding back laughter.

"Shut up, damn it," Vali said, now looking kinda chubby.

"Hey Tobio, don't you think he should start respecting his big brothers from now on?" I asked. Now that I looked, Tobio was kind of a meatball too.

"Y-Yeah, Vali, now you have to respect your Nii-chans," Tobio said, about to burst out laughing.

"Fine… I admit I lost. But I want a rematch," Vali said, glaring at both of us.

"Sure thing, little brother. Now, can someone bring the salad, please?" I said with anime-style tears in my eyes.

Hehe… that day was awesome. I gained brothers. Not by blood, but I treat them like they are.

Flashback

A grown-up Yuu could be seen saying goodbye to someone who looked just like him.

"Yuu, take care of him for me, okay?" the other said with a smile, handing him a box.

"Y-Yeah," Yuu said, head lowered.

"Come on, don't be sad. You defeated his parents and freed both of us. So never lose that smile," the other said, patting his head gently.

"Yeah, Nii-chan… I-I'll keep moving forward," Yuu said as tears rolled down his cheeks.

"I hope you do."

Back to the present

I told Azazel what happened with Shuri and Akeno, and also about their current situation.

"Baraqiel," I said, sitting on the couch, "it's been a while since we talked."

"Don't worry, you're part of the Fallen Angel faction now. I've got some free time anyway," he said, sitting across from me.

"Well, I wanted to talk to you about your wife and daughter. Do you know where they are?"

His face turned serious. "What do you know about my wife and daughter? All I know is that some people attacked my house and killed them both," he said, voice heavy with pain.

"And what if I told you they're alive?" I said casually.

His eyes widened—even though they're closed, somehow he saw that.

"Where are they? Are they safe?" he bombarded me with questions.

"Relax, Bara. Akeno and Shuri are safe. They're living in the Underworld right now, so don't worry," I said, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you so much. I'm so glad they're safe. Can you tell me what happened that day?"

So I told him about saving Akeno and Shuri, bla bla bla…

"Now, Baraqiel, on a more serious note," I said.

"What is it?" he asked, matching my tone.

"Can I marry Akeno?" I asked with a dumb look on my face.

"NOT EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS, YOU DAMN BRAT!" he yelled, grabbing my shirt.

Then Penemue walked into the room, shocked at the sight of Baraqiel about to fry me with lightning.

"I'LL NEVER GIVE MY DAUGHTER TO YOU, YOU CHEEKY BRAT!" he shouted, firing lightning at me.

"Come on, Bara, I'll be a great son-in-law," I said with the same dumb look, blocking his attacks with Infinity.

"What the hell is going on here?!" Penemue yelled, angry at the wrecked room.

"THIS BRAT WANTS TO STEAL MY DAUGHTER!" Baraqiel shouted, pointing at me.

"Bara doesn't want to accept me as his son-in-law!" I said in a mocking tone, pointing back at him.

"Hahahaha, Baraqiel, I didn't know you were so overprotective. You're always so serious," she said, laughing at the scene.

After that, I met the Slash Dog Team members, including Lavinia Reni. I liked all of them, especially Lavinia.

Right now, I was training to master Reverse Rotation: Red. Believe me, learning the Reversed Cursed Technique is a nightmare. I'm stuck.

I'm also trying to learn how to keep the Six Eyes active automatically, but that's way off in the future. I can't do much until I master the Reverse Technique.

Today I was lying around in my room doing nothing. But this year, I actually managed to tone down Issei's pervy nature a little.

How? Well, I met him in the park, became friends with him and Irina (who I'm totally going to steal—cough cough I mean, play with), told him something like, "Kid, being a pervert won't get you anywhere," and then punched him to make it clear.

And that's how Operation Beat the Perv Out of Issei ended. Long name, but whatever. Now we just have to wait for Irina to leave Kuoh before starting phase two.

I even brought Irina and Issei to my house to play for a while.

"Mom, I'm back! I brought some friends!"

"Oh, Yuu, that's great. What are your friends' names?" my mom said with a smile, hands clasped.

"Issei Hyoudou, nice to meet you," he said energetically.

"Irina Shidou, nice to meet you," she said with a small bow.

Ah, I forgot to mention—Issei's eyes went wide when he found out Shidou was a girl.

"Issei-kun, Irina-chan, make yourselves at home. Yuu, why don't you take them upstairs to play until snack time?" my mom said.

"Sure, come on, guys. I've got a console with tons of games."

We played for hours in my room. Issei kept demanding rematches because he couldn't beat me. Then we had snacks, and everyone went home.

Third Person POV

Meanwhile, Masaomi was running from several exorcists, among them Toji Shidou (Irina's father), who was chasing him.

"Please, Masaomi, surrender, or we'll have to kill you," Toji said, sounding pained.

"Sorry, my friend, but I won't give up until I'm with her," Masaomi replied.

"Then die in the name of God," Toji said in the same tone.

I stayed watching to see what would happen. Hehehe… this is going to be fun.
