Chapter 8 - First Contacts

First things first—I have no idea how I ended up back in my room, but whatever. As for what happened to Michael? Not a clue.

The last thing I remember is sharing a few drinks with him… and, uh, celebrating our alliance. Pretty sure someone else showed up… and if my memory's right, it was Gabriel.

Mini Flashback

"Hey, Michael, how about those drinks, huh?" I said, nudging him with my elbow.

"Man, I can't believe I never tried something this good before," he said, satisfied.

"Alright, time to go. My mom's gonna kill me," I said, standing up.

"Come on, Yuudai-kun, just one more drink." He held the bottle out to me.

"Mmm… well, since you insist—"

"MICHAEL, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" A furious Gabriel suddenly appeared.

"Gabriel! Ouuuuu Gabriel, come join us—we're tasting one of humanity's finest delights: alcohol!" Michael said before taking another swig straight from the bottle.

"Yeah, Seraph Gabriel, come on, one little drink won't hurt," I added, downing a shot myself.

That made a vein pop on her forehead. "First of all, Michael, you're a Seraph. You shouldn't be drinking! And second—who are you?" She glared straight at me.

"Name's Yuudai Gojo. New ally of Heaven."

"An ally? But you're just a kid."

"Gabriel," Michael said, "believe it or not, Yuudai-kun is crazy strong. And he's human. That makes him a valuable ally to Heaven."

"I see… but that doesn't explain why you're drinking!"

"Oh, this? We're celebrating our alliance," I said like a child caught red-handed.

"Yesss! And we're not stopping anytime soon!" Michael shouted before downing another shot.

Gabriel's patience snapped. She bonked Michael on the head so hard he passed out, then grabbed him by the leg and started dragging him away.

"Yuudai-kun, sorry for the trouble with Michael," she said, closing her eyes in frustration.

"Don't worry. I was the one who suggested we drink," I said awkwardly.

"Well, I hope our alliance lasts a long time," she said with a faint smile.

"Same here. I'll visit Heaven sometime soon."

"Oh, right—here, take this. With it, you can teleport directly to Heaven." She handed me a small amulet.

"Thanks. And, uh, good luck with Michael," I said with a nervous sweatdrop.

She opened a portal and dragged the unconscious Michael through. Me? I was left with a headache incoming.

Mini Flashback Over

After that little adventure, I figured I'd swing by Grigori to see if Azazel could help me get to the Familiar Forest—and maybe say hi to the gang while I was at it.

When I finally found Vali… oh man.

"Hellooo, Vali, I'm here. You know where Aza—zel…?" I froze mid-sentence when I saw what he was holding. The title on the cover read: Butt in the Paradise.

Vali jumped like a guilty teenager. "Nii-san! What are you doing here?!" He quickly shoved the magazine behind his back.

"What were you looking at, Vali?" I asked with a smug grin.

"Nothing," he said, looking away. "Just a book Tobio lent me."

"Ohhh, and that book was called Butt in the Paradise, huh? Pfft—HAHAHAHA!" I completely lost it.

Right then Azazel and Tobio walked in. "What's going on here?"

"Our dear Vali just stole one of your magazines," Tobio said casually.

"You little brat, you stole one of my magazines?" Azazel said, irritated.

"I-I found it lying around!" Vali protested, flailing his arms.

"Well then, Vali," I said, trying not to laugh, "how about this title: The First Butt Dragon Emperor? Hahaha! You'll be a legend."

"Wait, no ridiculous nicknames!" Vali shouted, annoyed.

"Hey, Albion, you heard that? From now on, you'll be remembered by that name," I said, grinning at his hand.

"[NOOOOO! Anything but that!]" Albion practically cried.

"Don't worry, Albion. I'll find you a good therapist," I said between laughs.

After we finished teasing poor Vali, I asked Azazel about the Familiar Forest.

"Old man, you know how to get there?"

"Yeah. You want a familiar?"

"Sure do. Would come in handy."

"Here—this will teleport you there and back to Grigori." He handed me some teleportation papers.

"Thanks. I'll head out soon," I said, opening a portal.

"Good luck finding a strong one," he replied.

Next stop: the Underworld. Time to visit Sirzechs-chan… but first, I picked up some sweets.

I popped into his office out of nowhere, making him jump.

"Morning, Sirzechs," I said, waving.

"Oh, Yuudai-kun, you came… and still appearing out of thin air, I see."

"Hey, it's only my second visit. Plus, I brought snacks," I said, lifting a bag of treats.

"Well, I'll take one… but first, let me give you a tour of the Underworld," he said, standing up and opening the door.

"Here, these are some of my favorites," I said, tossing him a snack.

"Thanks… what are these?" he asked, opening the package.

"Kikufuku from Kikusuian. Sendai's finest specialty. That one's edamame with cream filling."

He took a bite… and instantly turned red. "Delicious," he said, dazed.

"Alright, come on. Tour time," I said, dragging him out by his cape while he was still in a food coma.

And wow. The Underworld? Incredible.

I even met some of the nobles—well, except for Grayfia, who was still at the Gremory estate.

But then Sirzechs wanted me to demonstrate my power… and when Grayfia finally saw me, she nearly blasted my head off before he explained things.

And after some… let's call them "misunderstandings," Rias and I had a quick sparring match. Three seconds. That's all it took. She went full Crimson Princess on me with her Power of Destruction… and I tanked it like nothing using Infinity.

One finger flick to her forehead—BOOM. Out like a light.

Sirzechs, Grayfia, even Rias were stunned when I showed them the true scope of Infinity.

And in the end? Sirzechs extended his hand with a smile. "I underestimated you, Yuudai-kun. I hope our alliance lasts forever."

"Same here," I said, shaking his hand.

Back home…

Quiet… careful… no sudden movements…

"YUUDAI GOJO!!! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME YOU'VE COME HOME LATE! AS PUNISHMENT, YOU'RE EATING A WHOLE POT OF VEGETABLES!"

Ah yes… the only being in existence who can truly defeat me: my mother.
