Chapter 2 - GTAG Chapter 2: Adjustment

GTAG Chapter 2: Adjustment

The fourth form had already cooled down, its height doubled compared to before.

The skin on the surface had hardened as well, greatly boosting defense.

As for the fifth form, in the original work it only appeared for a fleeting moment—strange monsters at the tip of Godzilla's tail, struggling to break free.

That happened because skyscrapers kept crashing down on Godzilla, restricting his movement. Combined with the injection of coagulant, the timing led to the judgment that shrinking his body size would be the best way to survive the crisis.

But unfortunately, the coagulant took effect too quickly. Godzilla was frozen solid, and evolution was forced to stop.

Had nothing unexpected happened, Godzilla's fifth form would have split into numerous smaller individuals, each about three meters tall.

What came after that, he didn't know.

But now, possessing knowledge of the future, he would never let himself be manipulated by humanity, frozen, and forced into an indefinite slumber like the original Godzilla.

The most urgent matter was to return to the ocean and cool his overheated body.

So, without hesitation, he turned, collapsed onto the ground, and wriggled like a giant eel, quickly crawling toward the sea.

Even this simple action caused massive destruction under Godzilla's immense weight.

Everywhere he passed, buildings collapsed, leaving behind nothing but wreckage.

Godzilla's sudden retreat back into the ocean left the nation's leadership baffled.

Why did it suddenly go back?

A biologist pointed out that the rapid evolution may have overheated its body, forcing it to cool down in the ocean.

"Oh… I see. Then when it reappears, what form will it take?"

"…I don't know."

That was the biologist's only reply.

No one dared make any confident evaluation of this incomprehensible creature anymore.

But no one could guarantee that the monster would not appear again.

Thus, the nation began mobilizing, preparing strategies to deal with it.

The first priority: to uncover what exactly this creature was, and where it came from.

…

Underwater.

Godzilla stood in the ocean depths.

The surrounding seawater boiled from his immense body heat, sending columns of scalding vapor rising above the surface.

But as time passed, the vapor didn't lessen. It only increased, spreading wider until finally stabilizing.

Godzilla could feel every part of his body.

Thanks to the cooling of the ocean, the crisis of his body collapsing was resolved.

Fueled by the endless energy of the atomic reactor within, his body continued to grow rapidly. His muscles, bones, and organs became tougher and more resilient with every moment.

All of this happened simultaneously.

What's more, once calm, Godzilla realized he could sense everything around him, as if a radar existed inside his brain.

No—perhaps it really was a radar.

Though his eyesight now seemed good, he remembered clearly that in his earliest form, he had no hearing at all.

It was likely that before he developed proper vision, his eyes weren't much use either.

The only reason he didn't blindly stumble to his death was because of this radar-like organ, allowing him to sense everything around him with clarity.

This was far more effective than eyes and ears!

He hadn't noticed it before because his mindset was still fixated on "seeing" and "hearing" the world.

Another critical realization: his atomic reactor wasn't nuclear fission, but nuclear fusion!

That was simply the way his body was designed—there was no changing it.

Nuclear fission reactor? Godzilla laughed inwardly at the thought.

The difference in energy between fission and fusion was like heaven and earth!

Still, he wasn't about to let his body grow unchecked.

If nothing changed, in just a few days he would transform into the original timeline's grotesque form—over a hundred meters tall, tens of thousands of tons, his skin wrinkled and ugly.

He didn't care about beauty or ugliness, but such a form wasn't fit for battle.

Just look at those tiny stubby arms—completely useless decorations.

And those dead-fish eyes, that bald head.

It wasn't about being ugly—it was about optimizing. Letting his body grow that way was simply unnecessary.

Ugliness was the least of the reasons.

Definitely.

The first thing Godzilla did was thicken and strengthen his small arms.

Even a dinosaur's forelimbs were more useful than his.

As his forelimbs grew longer and sturdier, his center of gravity inevitably shifted forward.

He didn't bother to fix it.

At his core, he was a spellcaster—a mage with overwhelming firepower.

Improving close combat was only to prevent his body from being a weak point. Whether walking upright or on four legs, it didn't matter.

Besides, with his massive legs and tail, he could easily remain upright.

Next, his head needed modification.

He let the irregular, jagged teeth inside his jaws fall out, replacing them with rows of sharp fangs.

On his head, two pairs of twisted horns sprouted, curving like a crown.

With that, the adjustments were complete.

Compared to before, these were only minor modifications, with no hindrance to his growth.

As for the wrinkled skin he hated most—he left it unchanged.

There was no need.

The hardened skin already gave him maximum defense. Adding heavy scales wouldn't make much difference.

The folds were much tougher than they appeared.

And more importantly, they helped him vent heat.

The temperatures his atomic reactor produced were so high that the back alone couldn't disperse it.

The glowing red streaks beneath the wrinkles were in fact the seepage of that immense heat.

Godzilla's surface temperature was already several hundred degrees.

A normal human would die instantly just from being near him.

Oh, right—he had nearly forgotten about this.

His signature ability: the Atomic Breath.

Its destructive force was nothing short of apocalyptic.

Temperatures could reach tens of millions of degrees Celsius.

Nothing could survive under its searing fury!
