Chapter 1 - The Reincarnation

The main character spent the entire day absorbed in a fantasy novel, completely forgetting that his final exam was scheduled for today. Despite not preparing at all and showing no signs of stress, he managed to answer every question on the exam with ease and confidence.

Once the exam was over, he went back home, had his lunch, and decided to rest for a while. But only a few minutes after falling asleep, an intense pain struck his chest and lingered for nearly half an hour. Eventually, the pain faded away, leaving him with the strange sensation that a heavy weight had been lifted from his heart, making it feel unexpectedly light and unburdened.

After a while, a strange, otherworldly voice reached his ears.

"You have fulfilled the purpose of your life," it declared.

Startled, the main character whispered.

"What was that? What is it saying? I don't understand any of this."

The voice continued, calm and resonant.

"Every soul born into this world is given a purpose they must see through to completion. You were destined to live with righteousness, to commit good deeds and refrain from evil. And though you sometimes strayed, your actions remained nearly balanced—yet tilted ever so slightly toward the good. You performed 50.1% good deeds and 49.9% bad ones. For this reason, you shall face both punishment and, alongside it, the granting of a single wish."

The main character finally spoke.

"Ah, now I understand what you were trying to tell me. But why is all of this happening only to me?"

The voice answered with solemn certainty.

"You were the chosen one entrusted with this responsibility. And in the design of your fate, it was written that once you fulfilled this duty, you would be granted a single wish. Speak now—what is it that you long for the most, that one desire you always dreamed could be real? Whatever it may be, I shall fulfill it without fail. This is my promise."

After a moment of deep thought, the main character spoke of his heart's true desire.

"There has always been one wish I've carried within me—to leave this world behind and be reborn in another. A world of kingdoms and magic, adventure and discovery—a true fantasy rebirth. That has been my lifelong dream."

The voice replied gently, yet with power.

"So this is the wish that lies within you. Fear not—it shall be granted. I had expected you to ask for something different, yet I can see you yearn for freedom above all else. Very well, I shall send you into a new world where the impossible becomes possible, a world born from the very depths of your imagination."

"And now, I take my leave. Your wish will certainly be fulfilled. Prepare yourself, for your new journey begins. Good luck."

The voice faded into silence, leaving the air still. Moments later, a glowing portal suddenly appeared before the main character, leaving him stunned in disbelief. From within the shimmering gateway emerged a messenger, who calmly instructed him to step inside. With a deep breath, MC followed, and together they crossed through the portal into the unknown.

On the other side of the portal, the main character slowly opened his eyes—and was struck with awe. Before him stretched a breathtaking sight, unlike anything he had ever witnessed. The world around him was veiled in clouds, shining with an otherworldly brilliance, as though he had been lifted from a dark, foul, and suffocating place straight into the realms of heaven. And then, at the heart of this divine scenery, he saw a man seated upon a grand throne, with the messenger standing loyally by his side.

As the main character approached, the god spoke in a calm yet hurried tone,

"Come, sit with me. I must explain a few things quickly, for time is short and we cannot afford even the smallest delay. You already know that you were granted a wish, one that led to your reincarnation. Since you are about to be reborn into this new world, I wish to ask you something. Live well there, and take care of yourself. But before that, I have one question for you—do you desire any powers? This is your chance to speak, for once the moment passes, I will not ask again. Normally, such an opportunity would not even be given, but because of your efforts—and for reasons I cannot fully reveal—I am offering it to you now."

"But first," the god continued,

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am the one who created this world and continue to guide it. Still, even I am bound by certain limits, which is why I cannot reveal too much. My name is Gadriel—remember it well. I have daughters, though you will only come to know of them in due time. Now then, if you possess any wishes, speak them freely."

The main character straightened and replied quickly,

"Yes, I do have some, but not just one—there are several. I'll list them fast since there isn't much time.

1. I want a new and stronger body.

2. An AI system I can control according to my will.

3. The ability to access and wield pure mana.

4. Not just one element—I want command over all elements.

5. And finally, before I depart, I want the chance to adjust some settings and make one last request."

The god nodded thoughtfully.

"Hmm, very well. I like your requests, and I am curious to see how you will use these gifts. So, I shall grant them to you.

1. You shall receive a new and stronger body.

2. An AI system shall be yours, fully under your control.

3. I will bestow upon you pure mana—a unique energy accessible only to you and those bound to you. Its power will remain entirely in your hands.

4. As for mastery over all elements—you may have it, but you must learn how to wield them on your own.

5. And yes, before you depart, you may finalize your settings and make your adjustments. However, you only have thirty minutes, after which the reincarnation process will begin."

With that, God turned to the messenger and gave the order to initiate the reincarnation. The main character was entrusted with all his new powers to test and adjust as needed. After sharing one final exchange with the god, the reincarnation process finally began.

The day of the main character's birth finally arrived. The weather itself seemed to reflect the significance of the moment. The sky had been clear just hours before, yet when the child was ready to be born, the heavens darkened, rain poured heavily, and fierce lightning split the skies—as though the world itself was heralding the arrival of someone destined to grow immensely powerful.

Meanwhile, his new father, Reynard LeonhartValtair, was still at work. He had planned to finish early so he could be at the side of his wife and newborn child, yet circumstances kept him away. Reynard was a noble and steadfast general, known for both his loyalty and strength. His mother, Selene Valtair, was a devoted and diligent wife, talented not only in healing but also in wielding water magic with grace.

At last, the long day came to an end, and the child was born safely. Soon after, Reynard returned home, and together with Selene, they chose a name for their son: Lucian Leonhart Valtair. On that very day, all who sensed the extraordinary aura surrounding the newborn were struck by its intensity—an unforgettable presence that none could ever erase from memory.

That very day, a few other children were also born in the village. Among them, Lucian and two others would soon grow close, forming a bond of friendship. Five years later, the three of them would be taken to the royal court, where they were to be presented before the king and formally registered to begin their education.

At last, five years slipped by, and the children had reached the age of five. As tradition required, they, along with their fathers, made their way to the royal court. This custom had long been established to keep records of every citizen and to ensure that proper benefits and facilities were provided to them.

When the registration process began, Lucian's turn soon arrived. But before it could proceed, King Alden Solmaria addressed Reynard directly, asking him to stay behind after the ceremony, as there were important matters he wished to discuss. Once the process was finished and the royal duties concluded, the king met Reynard in the waiting chamber. Their conversation touched upon the state of neighboring kingdoms and their armies.

Before the discussion ended, the king cast his gaze upon young Lucian. Impressed by Reynard's loyalty and service, King Alden granted the boy special privileges as a token of favor. These were bestowed not only because Lucian was the son of Reynard, but also in recognition of Reynard's unwavering dedication, which had earned the king's deep respect.

Lucian and his father began their journey home after the ceremony, as the others had already departed. While passing near a hill, the horse cart suddenly jolted—the wheel slipped out of balance. In that tragic moment, Lucian was thrown from the cart and plunged into a deep ravine below.

Reynard eventually returned home, grief etched across his face, and broke the devastating news to Selene. The couple wept together in anguish, their sorrow unbearable. By the next day, they forced themselves to resume their daily duties, but the weight in their hearts remained, heavy and unspoken. Word of the tragedy quickly spread throughout the land and even reached the ears of the king.

By some miracle, Lucian survived the fall. He could not tell whether it was due to the strength of his blessed body or if God himself had intervened. Yet survival came with something unexpected. After the meeting with the king and on his way back home, fragmented memories began to stir within him. Glimpses of his past life and the truth of his reincarnation slowly surfaced in his mind. This awakening, he realized, was tied to the special requests he had made in his final wish.

As the months slipped by, Reynard and the others grew convinced that no one could have possibly survived a fall into such a deep gorge. To them, Lucian had long perished.

But far below, Lucian still struggled, desperate to climb back to the surface, though his efforts always ended in vain. Then, one day, a faint sound reached his ears. It was a woman's voice, echoing in the darkness. She was pleading for help, her cries filled with desperation, like someone standing at the edge of death.

Guided by the faint cries, Lucian made his way toward the source of the voice and soon came upon a woman.

With innocent concern, he asked.

"Are you alright? Do you need my help?"

The woman lifted her gaze and was startled to see only a five-year-old boy standing before her. At first, she felt no hope that a child could possibly save her, yet desperation overcame doubt, and with trembling words, she pleaded for his help.
