"Welcome!" Darion called out as we stepped into the building. "Welcome to our fortress!"
He wasn't over exaggerating either. He meant it, it was literally a fortress. It looked as if it was built for some Mexican military to use as a fort. It was brick built, tall, long as hell, and absolutely close to perfection.
"What's her name?" Jaylie asked, as if she was so sure that it was a girl.
We were all fascinated. I didn't think anyone had forts like these anymore. It seemed so old timey, like nobody thinks of it anymore. Nobody thinks of it but Darion.
"This is Fort Beauty." Darion answered.
"Beauty." Jaylie said with a nod. "Perfect name if you ask me."
"Thank you." Darion said with a pleased grin.
We just got to Los Angeles a couple hours ago. The first place we went was another large building, except it was made up of absolutely no bricks. It was all glass, you could see the three floors from outside the building. The top floor was a business room, it had a rectangular meeting table in the middle of the room.
The bottom floor had a few sofas. A large television was across the room wall as well. There was dining tables in the middle floor, that was where whoever was inside the building cooked obviously. It seemed like there was a kitchen on the second floor as well.
After we left the glass building we came to the fortress. He finished giving us a tour of this giant militant building. Then, we left to another gigantic looking building. This one was much further out. There were gates surrounding the place like a giant square, I believe at least. The gates were tall enough to cover up everything that was behind it from the outside. They were made of all metal as well. It seemed like those gates were indestructible.
Darion pressed a tiny button opening the gates. The insides were like its own separate city. There were tiny homes, around the gate. One larger facility was planted in the middle. That must be like some sort of headquarters of this place. The gate closed behind us, much quicker than they opened.
"That shit is dangerous." Jaylie said looking back at the closed gates. "Can't that thing kill people!"
"Yes, it can kill people." Darion said. "That's why nobody should stand in the middle of the gate when it closes."
They stopped the cars. His assistant came out of his car behind us and Darion stepped out as well.
"You want to get the settled in?" His assistant asked.
"You take them into quarters. Show them what we do here, tell them what we're about." Darion replied to the assistant. Then looked at me. "Ethan is going to take it from here."
His assistant name is Ethan, thank God he told me because I would had never known. I got out the car and shook Ethan's hand. Natalie did the same, but Jaylie just waved. I glared at her.
"What? He ain't cuffing me no money checks. I don't care about his handshakes."
"Follow me." Ethan said as he began to walk.
We followed him into the main quarters. Outside of the quarters, it was pretty much dead. I didn't think there was any sign of life here. That's why when I noticed the crowd of people inside the quarters, I nearly gasped.
"Damn, what's this? Times Square?" Jaylie said as she watched the people.
Everyone seemed busy with something. You were either walking somewhere or you were seated with friends. The people that were sitting down were talking to each other . Some others were eating.
"This is where they work." Ethan said. "The main quarters is bigger than what you assume."
"Well exactly how big is it?" Jaylie asked.
"Follow me." He waved us on.
Many people greeted Ethan when they saw him. Maybe his personality was much better than what he's showing us so far, because everyone was all smiles when they saw Ethan.
"An elevator?" Natalie said softly. She said as she spotted the elevator was straight ahead.
"This building isn't big enough for a damn elevator." Jaylie added.
I agree, maybe this was a two story building. This elevator had to just be for the handicap. If it wasn't, then they were just adding unnecessary crap to look good.
"Let's finish this already," I said exasperatingly. "I'm sleepy."
"Just step in and see." He said as he pressed the elevator button. The elevator opened and we stepped in together.
"Holy shit." I read the lips of Natalie as she mouthed.
There was thirty buttons, for thirty floors. From the outside, the quarters didn't even look two percent as big as a thirty story building does. I wondered what kind of stunt Darion pulled to hide the other twenty-nine stories of the quarters.
"So how do you manage to vanish off this entire damn building." Jaylie started, but something must had changed her mind. "No, don't tell me. I don't have the time to try and comprehend with all your scientific bullshit."
Ethan smiled as he pressed a button. After a minute, we stopped on the twelfth floor. He stepped out first and led us through the way.
"This is where you guys will be stationed." He said as we walked.
Every room we passed were little apartments, but bigger than the dormitory I had back at school. Darion wasn't just taking us for a moment, he planned on keeping us permanently and making us apart of the little civilization of his.
"What are you people?" Natalie asked.
"The world is becoming angry. That America is the only country with these powerful recourses and technology." Ethan explained. "Mr. President doesn't want to share the supplies we have, even though we already owe countries like China."
"We owe them money, not our technology." Jaylie said.
"Our technology could pay off the debt in seconds."
"No, because then they could make more of our technology as well." I jumped into the conversation. "Some countries shouldn't be trusted with power. That leads me back to Natalie's question. What are you people?"
"The difference." Ethan said. "President Brando and Vice President Dangers want to keep our technology national. Despite the opinion of, Darion."
"Darion believes differently? He believes we should share this crazy ass shit?" I brusquely began. "That is the most dumbass thing I've ever heard. Darion's already filthy rich, what the fuck else does he want? The President said no, why can't he fucking deal with that? I know why, it's because you idiots fry him on. You fucking let that man think he's powerful as the President."
"He's the most powerful man in the universe." Ethan said calmly.
"Sweetheart, the world is changing." I turned after hearing Darion's masculine voice, yet it was always so soft.
"Your changing it, we know." I looked up at him, into his eyes as he stepped closer. "I just have a presentment for danger because of you."
"Hopefully your presentment isn't correct."
"Hopefully."
"We're here. So explain everything."
He nodded. "Natalie, let your brother name your coming to see him soon."
"Okay." Natalie replied.
"Come with me, Rose." He commanded me as he opened the elevator door.
When the elevator door opened, I stepped in first. He followed, I was pissed off. All those questions I had back in Massachusetts when we reached the airport, now they were all gone because he wanted to wait until we got to this damn institution full of Darion dick riders.
"How did you know Natalie wanted to see Sincere?" I asked when the elevator door shut.
"Common sense." He replied. "Don't you have it too?"
God I love this man's attitude. "Why is this building invisible."
"This building isn't the only thing I can make invisible." He pressed the biggest number on the elevator, we were going to the highest floor. "I've developed software that'll make anything disappear by just a press of a button."
"You develop everything."
"Just about."
"What's your secret?"
"It wouldn't be a secret if I exposed it would it?"
The elevator stopped, the hallway ahead was small. No, more like a lobby room. Darion opened the double doors ahead and stepped into the room. I followed, and was amazed by the large bedroom. This room had so much space. His bed set was queen sized, his wardrobes were enormous, the paintings on the walls were antiques, the closets were large enough to fit another damn queen size bed inside them.
"This is heaven." I said softly.
I stared out the glass window. The opposite wall from the door side of the room was made up of glass. This man had three walls and one glass side in his room. I didn't mind, not at all of course. I could see the city, even though we were much further out. Behind those gigantic rectangular walls below us was the city of Los Angeles. The city lights glistened so brightly at night.
"This isn't heaven, it's more like having sex with God himself." I said pleasingly.
"Well keep having that intercourse with God, because this is yours." He replied.
I felt his arms come around me softly. He held my back against him and gently touched me. I looked up at him, seeing him ogling me down. I found it rather a shame, how he couldn't go one moment without being so damn freakishly minded. I stood on the tip of my toes and he leaned down, we kissed softy. He held my neck as I put my tongue in his mouth, circling around his tongue slowly. Then our lips connected again, tongues locked around each other. I moaned softly, then pushed him away.
"What is this?" I remembered one of the major questions I wanted to ask him. "This damn facility, these damn people, all this damn material you have. I know you better than you think Darion. So if you lie to me, I promise to you this will be the last day you'll ever see me in your damn life!"
"This is NTAU, National Task Assault Unit. Ethan and I told the President of our work here and what we are as well. The only thing is, President wants me to shut us down."
"Why?"
"Because he wants to be the only one progressing the resources I provided from point on."
"What?"
"He wants me to quit what I do best."
"That's fucking crazy."
"He told me this in a meeting we had awhile back. Our next meeting together is next week."
"What happens if you don't do as he said Darion?"
"Then I guess the President of the most powerful country in America is going to beef with the man who made this country the most powerful."
"You cannot beef with the President. That's insane, we need to make this workout. My mother would-"
"Baby girl your mother is gone." Only one person had called me baby girl in my life, and that was my Uncle Jordiee. Darion didn't deserve to be in the last line as him.
He made numerous mistakes, just with five words. I turned my back to him and walked away. He attempted to grab me as I expected, so I smacked his arm away. I turned back to him and spoke acrimoniously, but I didn't give a fuck.
"You the only nigga I fucking know that brings up my momma all the damn time!" I yelled, soon increasing my voice because his reaction didn't tell my I was loud enough. "Yo crazy ass need to put my momma to the fucking side! Where the fuck is yo momma? Where the fuck is yo damn daddy nigga? Nowhere to be fucking found! So get the fuck off my damn ass about my mom! She taught me how to live like this! She gave me this attitude! So if your in love with me how you fucking say you are, then your in love with Cecelia fucking Castro!"
He remained calm, he was fucking with me. He had to be fucking with me. How the hell could he be absolutely emotionless after what I just said? Because he's a lunatic.
"I've gotta get away from you. I imagine you naming our baby Luna, or some other psychopathic shit like that."
I turned my back to him again, but this time I was determined on walking out of the room. Then I felt his hands on my waist, yanking me back to him. The first time we ever saw each other, he did that. Just like the first time he did that, I found my panties becoming soaked just from that yank by my waist. He raised my hand and spun me around to face him, like this was some prom dance.
I smiled when I faced him. "God, I'm so happy I met you."
"We have to go against the President," he brought that subject back up. "It's the only thing I'm putting up as a choice Rosey."
He kissed me softly. I touched his face and felt down his neck. I don't know which I love most about him, the chocolate skin or the newly shaved goatee. The sideburns really ate my little thirsty ass up. Fuck it, it's all just hot as hell.
"Okay baby," I agreed. "Let's run this shit together."
