"No need to come at them so violently." Kristian said as approached us. "I don't think Darion would sign me just to piss me off by killing my best friends."
"Sign?" I questioned.
"Yep." Kristian agreed. "I'm officially apart of the NTAU."
"So your working for Darion?" Natalie asked.
"Yeah, this is better than college. This is exactly what I need, especially now." Kristian answered and looked to Ethan. "Now lower your weapons."
Ethan nodded to Tampa, she put her gun away and walked into the facility. Ethan put his weapon away and took a few steps back. Kristian stepped in front of him and waved us on.
"You can come in, Darion will be here in a little." Kristian said. "Or you can leave, because you can't fight Tampa."
Kristian was like my brother, now he was apart of them. Where is Darion going with this? Why is he signing people? I couldn't just jump into conclusions with Kristian and maliciously come at him.
"Why'd you sign with him?" I asked Kristian.
"I see a future with the plan he has."
"What's the plan?"
"Darion has to tell you that."
"Seriously?"
"Does Kamira know your quitting school?" Natalie asked Kristian of his mother.
"Does Natasha know you quit?" Kristian came right back at her by putting her mother into the situation.
"He's clever Natalie." I spoke softly. "You know it's a reason why he signed a contract from Darion. It must be reasonable."
"I'm not signing anything. I'm going back to Massachusetts." Natalie replied. "Are you going to comeback with me or not?"
I'm sure Natalie was set on going back to college for sure now. Just like Kristian was set on being apart of NTAU. Just like Sincere was set on being drafted into the NFL. Just like Genesis was set on being drafted into the WNBA. I'm the only one who's not set on anything. I'm the lone confused one.
"I can't go." I finally said. "I can't go. I need to stay."
Natalie sighed. "Okay, I'm going in to say goodbye to Jaylie."
I watched as Ethan walked Natalie in. She was upset, because I was set on living this lifestyle. Kristian was smiling at me. He must've been pleased with the choice I made, I chose to question him.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing." He replied, still grinning. "Come on."
I walked with him inside the facility. We went straight for the elevator. Kristian was just walking around like he was familiar already. He was more than determined to live this life, indubitably.
"Darion's here." He said, "he told me to bring you upstairs if you stayed."
I wasn't expecting that. "I love him."
"He's a hell of a character. I'm not sure who's harder to handle. You or him."
I laughed. "Screw you."
"No thanks, let's stick to being la familia."
"I love you Krissy."
"Love you too Rosey."
The elevator door opened. He pressed button number two as we stepped in. I didn't know what was on the second floor, but I knew it wasn't Darion's bedroom.
"What's on the second floor?" I asked.
"The second floor is the business floor. That's where all the meeting rooms are." Kristian explained.
I nodded as the elevator door opened. I walked behind Kristian, he opened the door to one of the business rooms. He held the door open for me, I thanked him as I stepped in.
"Hello Mr. Waters." I tried to sound professional as I stepped into the meeting room.
"Ms. Castro." Darion replied.
"How did you beat me here?"
"I've been here longer."
"Meaning?"
"I know my way around better."
"So why'd you have Kristian escort me in this room."
"Kristian is lethality." Darion replied. "He's perfect fit in NTAU."
"What exactly makes Kristian so lethal?"
"The fact he grew up with you alone makes him lethal."
"Is that right?"
"Yes, but your more lethal. I need you to be the face of the nation with me."
"Face of the nation?" The thought pleased me, Darion and I. "What exactly are we going to do if the President rejects peace offers?"
"Then, we'll have to let our offers be known differently."
"You look war ready."
"We most definitely are."
"I refuse to work with you if we go to war with the U.S."
"A civil war?"
"That'll destroy everything. We cannot destroy our own home."
Darion's smile was questioning. "It won't destroy everything, but alright."
"How won't a war destroy everything Darion? Please explain since you're such a fucking genius!"
"Baby girl, nobody can counteract with me."
"What?"
"My power, is far too dominant for any force to withstand against us."
It hit me hard. I wasn't using my brain. I haven't been using my brain enough. I was trying to get so much out of him so easily, that I forgot he loves me for my brain. He loves me for the capacity I supply in my mind. He loves me for my ability to elaborate any question given to me.
America was no doubtingly the most powerful military in the world, but that power didn't come out of nowhere. Everyone knows it came from Darion. If Darion had the power to supply all that power to America, he has the power to disable the power just as quickly. Maybe even much faster than how he supplied it.
I just stared at Darion for the time being. His smile wasn't very felicitous, considering the moment we were in. He must want war, he wanted to defeat America. He wanted power. He wanted to be the worlds most eminent power.
"I'm cutting my hair." I said softly, I needed this subject changed. I couldn't handle all the thoughts inside my brain at this moment.
"Okay," He said monotonously.
He can't be serious. "Really you asshole?"
"Well there's a infinitesimal chance of me liking the outcome of you cutting your hair. So you alone saying something that foolish intrigued me." He said. "I've already amnestied the fact that you've tried to push away the subject."
I love it when gets all smart ass with me, but I was still upset with the fact he didn't show any expression of me cutting my hair. I should cut it all off and just be bald headed.
"Fuck you, goodnight." I said, I was turning around when he called me back.
"Rose, if you turn your back to me one more time."
"What will happen, Darion?"
He didn't answer. I thought so, is what I wanted to say. Instead, I took a seat at the table with him. I blew him a kiss, he blew one back.
"This meeting still isn't over?" I asked.
"No, it's not." He answered.
"I want you to know every member of NTAU is important. Rather they are highly ranked, or not. I'm not finished signing people. I do have my eyes on certain targets to sign, some are people you do know."
"Like who?"
"You'll see if they accept my offer."
I wanted to object to that. I felt the need to know who it was now, but whoever it is I'm sure won't reject his offer. They'll know about me being the face of the company with Darion, they'll most certainly join.
"Okay baby." I said with a nod.
"Your birthday is in two weeks baby." He leaned over and kissed my forehead. "Let's make these two weeks brilliant."
"Okay baby."
"Next week is our meeting with the President. I'm only bringing a select few with me. Your one of the few, so be prepared. Just stay humble, follow by my side. Don't let me down baby girl."
"I won't Darion."
I stood up after blowing him one last kiss. Kristian opened the door for me, which meant this meeting was finally over. Kristian stepped out of the room with me and walked with me to the elevator.
"It won't be a war." Kristian said. "It's not competitive enough for a war."
"You don't have to explain. I know Kris, I'm with Darion through everything." I replied. "Since you decided to join, I know it's alright to trust him."
"Good." He pressed the fifth floor button.
"What's on the fifth floor?"
"You'll see."
"How the hell do you know this place so well?
"Darion told me everything I needed to know."
"So your committed huh?"
"Yes, Rose."
The elevator opened, we stepped into a room. A firing range. Dummies were everywhere, all of them had red bullseyes on the middle of the head. Kristian must had been ordered to take me here.
"He told me to give you a one minute course." Kristian explained.
I nodded, and picked up a gun. The gun turned blue as it did last time. It spoke, just like last time as well.
"One minute training course, the time begins when you pull the trigger. Gunlocks disabled."
"I found it hilarious when the gun spoke." Kristian said.
I laughed. "Yeah, me too."
I aimed my gun at the first dummy target. There was a scoreboard ahead, with names and times.
"So you can finish before the minute is up?" I asked.
"If you take down all the targets, then yes."
Darion's name was on top of the list, forty seconds was by his name. Tampa was second, forty-three seconds. Kristian was third on the list, forty-six seconds. Ethan was forth, fifty-five seconds. Some man named Felix was fifth, with fifty-seven seconds. All the other names on the board finished with the whole minute up.
Why was Darion first on the scoreboard? Where did he learn to shoot so damn good? I'll ask him those questions later, for now I've got to beat his time.
I aimed my gun at the furthest target. My strategy has always been to shoot the furthest target in a shooting range, then make my way to the closest. End with the easiest shots, finish confident. That's how you do your best.
I pulled the trigger, the bullet didn't shot like a regular gun. The bullet flew into the target much quicker, you could barely see the bullet fly. Maybe this is why their scores were so fast.
I continued shooting, knowing I'll beat every score on that board. I was already a skilled sniper, I've been shooting guns since I was seven years old. Now the guns were even better to assist that, exactly why I finished in only twenty-five seconds.
Kristian clapped. "I knew you'd kill that shit."
"Yeah, it's nothing."
My name popped up on the board, above Darion. Then we left the room to get breakfast. We went in the café and got omelettes. Then went back in the commons and sat with Jaylie and Natalie.
"He offered Jaylie a contract too." Natalie said when we sat down.
"Well, did you sign?" I asked Jaylie.
"Hell yeah, he told me my attitude was perfect for the NTAU." She answered, but continued. "Aight look I'm gonna stop fuckin wit yall."
"What?" Natalie said.
"I've known Darion for awhile. That's why I randomly just ran into you that day Rose, Darion sent me." Jaylie confessed to been working under Darion.
I don't mind, she didn't do anything besides make me like her. I was going to class that day anyway. I always thought Jaylie was just too special to just random pop up.
"It's ok Jaylie."
"Darion contacted me a few weeks ago." Kristian said. "He told me I'm perfect for NTAU as well."
I laughed. "Okay, since everybody is admitting shit. It's your turn Natalie."
"I don't got shit, your future hubby must not like me." Natalie said.
"Yeah, he wants you to go back." I said.
"The only reason he brought you was because he knew you wouldn't let Rose just come with me." Jaylie told Natalie.
"Whatever." Natalie rolled her eyes. "I'm ready to go."
"I'll tell Darion to get you out of here." I stood up without finishing my food. "I'll be back."
I went to the meeting room on the second floor, he wasn't there anymore. My next guess was his bedroom, so I went up to the thirtieth floor. I walked into his room, to see Tampa on his bed.
