"Jasmine" a woman in her late thirties called out
"It's Monday Jasmine, you are going to be late for the interview"
"Mum, it's still 6:00 am, and I have two hours and thirty minutes before the interview begins," Jasmine said.
"But Jay you have to be early the woman replied
"Mum I think it's time" Jasmine said seriously with her hands crossed across her chest
"Time for what Jay" the woman asked looking confused
"Time to start my mission of looking for a husband," Jasmine said
"What! A husband?, Jasmine what have I done to you why do you want to get married in such a rush " Elizabeth exclaimed
Jasmine chuckled "I never said a husband for myself, I meant a husband for you so that you can focus on him and finally stop nagging " Jasmine said
"So you think that I am a mother who is always nagging right?"Elizabeth said looking hurt
"No mum it's not what I meant, you know that I was joking right," Jasmine said and she hugged her mum tightly
Her father's disappearance gave her mum an emotional breakdown
Jasmine knew nothing about her father...And although Jasmine couldn't remember him, she felt the love her mom had for him and sometimes she also wished that he was here with them
At school, she saw many kids with their fathers and she kept asking her mother about it and after pressuring her mother for a long time she finally revealed that her father disappeared after an accident which happened sixteen years ago leaving her alone at the hospital
She assumed he abandoned her but her mum assured her that her dad wasn't a bad person and they were both in an accident so how could he leave the hospital in that state
Her mom told her that she tried finding him she also went to the police station but it seemed like he vanished from the surface of the earth
At a point, she gave up the search and focused on giving her a better future with the love of both a father and a mother and after receiving that answer from her mum, her curiosities were satisfied but deep down Jasmine wished for a complete family
"Mum, it has been sixteen years since Dad disappeared can't you forget him and move on? Or let's try to find him together" Jasmine said as she looked at her mum pitifully
Elizabeth took in a shaky breath... Jasmine could still feel that her mom was hiding something and she had tried so much to find out what she was hiding but to no avail ... Whenever she talked about her father she could sense a fear in her mother's demeanour which she knew that she was trying so hard to conceal... she always tries to avoid the topic and she knew that just like other days she would avoid it again... But there was no harm in trying
"Jasmine," Elizabeth said as she freed herself from Jasmine's embrace
"Take a look at the time, you silly girl it's 6:15 and you are still standing in front of me spouting nonsense? Remember, it takes one hour to get to sparkling beauty from here, Now go and take your bath" Jasmine's mum said as she pulled out her slipper to chase Jasmine into the bathroom
"Mum you can't run away from the truth you know "Jasmine said playfully and locked the bathroom door immediately
' I just want to place all my focus on you Jay and as for your father, although I haven't forgotten him yet I won't let it get in the way of your success Elizabeth thought looking at the bathroom door
Thirty minutes later Jasmine came out of her room in her work clothes
"Are you still in this house it's 6:55 for crying out loud hurry up and go" Elizabeth scolded
"Okay okay mum calm down, I'm done can't you see" Jasmine retorted
"be careful on the way it's still very early" Elizabeth reminded pushing Jasmine towards the door but Jasmine halted and turned to her mum hugging her tightly
"I love you, Mum," Jasmine said
"I love you too silly girl now go" Elizabeth said

Jasmine got to sparkling beauty by 7:53 so, standing in front of the tall building, Jasmine looked upwards and her green eyes lingered on the name written at the top of the building as the wind caressed her gold blonde hair at that moment, she looked no less than a goddess of beauty ...
"Sparkling beauty, finally! " Jasmine said without hiding the obvious excitement written all over her face
She took it air and looked forward with determination in her eyes. She walked into the building and asked about the interview hall which she was directed to
On Jasmine's way to the interview hall, a woman suddenly bumped into her and all the files she was holding fell on the floor which she bent to pick them up
"Are you insane or blind can't you keep your eyes up" the woman scolded
"I'm sorry ma'am but you were the one that bumped into me" Jasmine said without looking up and when she looked at the agitated woman..."Jenny!?" Jasmine said looking a little surprised
"Well well isn't this Jasmine Jones the woman sneered
Jenny looked at Jasmine mockingly and said
" Oh my God... who the hell do you think you are to so much as entertain the thoughts that you can get a job in Sparkling Beauty? Wow you dream too big Jasmine" Jenny scoffed
"so because you graduated from college with the first class CGPA, you suddenly think that you can get a job here? This company isn't for poor people like you, you should look for companies like Shining Life and Glittering World they would suit you more" Jenny said with obvious disdain
Jenny was Jasmine's coursemate in college, who had always been jealous of Jasmine's good grades and outstanding beauty.
Jenny was a very pretty girl with ink black hair and flawless skin and was very popular in college but she was pushed aside and people no longer gave her as much attention as they gave her before Jasmine gained a scholarship into the school... Jenny looked down on Jasmine for not being as rich as her and didn't expect that Jasmine would take her place as the campus Belle
Jasmine had beautiful gold-blonde hair which made her stand out and by the day she drew more attention to herself...
Jenny who was pushed aside became enraged and as a result, she began to look for opportunities to pick on Jasmine, but Jasmine who had much more important things to do couldn't care less about Jenny's jealousy
She frequently tried to push Jasmine to a corner but failed at every attempt and looking at Jasmine here today brought back so many memories she wanted to forget...
"Jenny, you're not the one conducting the interview, are you? Or is your father the owner of Sparkling Beauty? So Miss Jenny Adams if you have no answer to any of these questions would you please excuse me I have an interview to attend" Jasmine commented nonchalantly and walked away not sparing her a second glance leaving Jenny in a daze
Upon getting to the hall, Jasmine released a sigh of relief when she saw that the interview had not begun and she was the fifth person in the hall.
She immediately went ahead to pick up her number, but before she could take the number card a hand picked it up, she looked at the person who picked up the card
"oops my bad, sorry dear but I took it before you so you can't do anything about it but if you choose to create a scene, then be my guest" Jenny said and walked away
Jasmine scoffed at Jenny's childishness and took the next card which was number six. She wasn't the type of person to create a scene.
When Jenny saw Jasmine's calm expression it didn't sit well with her one bit
"Just wait Jasmine, I'll make your life a living hell" Jenny said in anger
A few minutes later the first four people were done with their interview and the fifth person which was Jenny was called in.
Jenny stood up from her seat with an expression which said 'I am rich', she looked at Jasmine, her gaze filled with obvious disdain as she walked into the office shutting the door behind her
After ten minutes Jenny came out of the Office with pride in her eyes which reflected all over her body
"Number 6 you are being called," the director said and Jasmine stood up from her seat with determination in her eyes unlike Jenny
"let's see what you can do" Jenny sneered
