Chapter 9 - 9

Soon, Tony Stark, with bandages wrapped around his hands, arrived at the podium, escorted by his bodyguard, Happy Hogan.

"Everyone, please sit down, will you? Sit down so you can all see me."

"And I can be more casual."

Although Tony Stark was injured and looked unwell, his words were as casual as ever.

As soon as he spoke, the reporters and other visiting guests present immediately sat down.

Tony Stark sat at the front of the podium and saw Harvey Anberaka, who was standing at the back, towering above the rest.

Although Harvey Anberaka had never officially met him, there had been no shortage of rumors about Harvey Anberaka in recent years.

So Tony Stark had heard of this guy, and his identity was quite easy to remember, being one of the few Asian wealthy individuals in New York.

To him, Harvey Anberaka was just a guy who got rich by sheer luck, without any real substance.

Therefore, he only remembered Harvey Anberaka to that extent.

However, although the other party was not as rich as him, he was undoubtedly a wealthy man, and his intentions were not difficult to guess; he might want to discuss investment matters.

Facing Tony Stark's gaze, Harvey simply smiled and nodded.

The former Tony Stark would certainly have chatted with Harvey Anberaka after the press conference.

He would have seen if this guy was really here to invest, but Tony Stark had just gone through that incident and was injured, so he didn't have that much energy.

And he also knew the impact the news he was about to announce would have on Stark Industries' stock.

So Tony Stark no longer had such thoughts.

Subsequently, Tony Stark began his speech, that classic scene remembered by countless people.

"So I am going to close down Stark Industries' weapons manufacturing division as soon as possible."

When Tony Stark decided that Stark Industries would abandon the arms industry, it immediately caused an uproar and attracted various doubts.

The bald-headed Stane next to Tony Stark forced a smile at this moment.

And Harvey, seeing this incredibly familiar scene, smiled.

Everything was too familiar, giving him ninety percent certainty that this was the Marvel Universe.

Tony Stark had just noticed that Harvey Anberaka was not surprised at all by his sudden announcement to close the weapons manufacturing division; instead, he seemed pleased.

If he remembered correctly, Harvey Anberaka had also purchased Stark Industries' stock, and the amount was not low, at least over five hundred million U.S. dollars.

But now, Harvey Anberaka showed no disbelief or anger at all, despite the stock about to plummet.

Why was this? Tony Stark was also a bit puzzled.

But while Tony Stark was thinking, he noticed that Harvey Anberaka had already turned around, seemingly planning to leave.

"Colonel Rhodes, stop him for me, I want to talk to him."

Tony Stark immediately called out when he saw this.

"Stop who?"

Although Rhodes didn't understand Tony Stark's behavior, hearing his good friend's words, he didn't refuse, but was just a little curious who Tony wanted him to stop.

"That Harvey Anberaka."

Tony Stark quickly said.

And while Tony Stark wanted Rhodes to do something.

Coulson had already arrived in front of Harvey.

"Mr. Harvey Anberaka, I am an Agent of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division."

"Can we talk?"

Coulson asked with a polite smile.

"You're with that crazy woman. I've been hiding for so long, and you're still haunting me?"

Harvey, seeing Coulson stop him, also spoke without any politeness upon hearing those words.

"Mr. Harvey Anberaka, that was just a misunderstanding, we mean no harm."

"We just want to ask you about some things."

"I can assure you, I will absolutely not harm you like that crazy woman."

"And I'm not carrying any firearms."

Coulson had also heard the news of the FBI questioning their department before, and a hint of embarrassment appeared on his face. He patted his chest, pockets, and trouser legs to indicate that he was not carrying any dangerous weapons.

"What exactly do you want to talk to me about?"

Harvey knew that forcing his way out would only make him more suspicious, so he looked at Coulson with some suspicion and asked.

"This is not a suitable place for a conversation."

"If convenient, you can choose a place where you feel safe but without too many outsiders."

"I can completely guarantee that I will not harm a single hair on you."

Currently, the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division is in dire need of assistance, and there has been no progress with the Avengers.

So Coulson did not want to give up on anyone who might have superpowers.

Harvey Anberaka was targeted by them for some reason; it was just that Natasha's previous actions were a bit too rushed and reckless.

So Coulson wanted to talk to Harvey Anberaka again to see if any progress could be made.

"Are you two busy?"

"I'm Tony Stark."

"Harvey Anberaka, although this is our first time meeting, I'm sure you've heard my name, just as I've heard yours."

"Shall we find a place to chat?"

"It won't take up too much of your time, and my time is just as valuable."

At this moment, Tony Stark saw the two standing at the entrance talking, and there was no need for Rhodes to stop them. He walked directly up and greeted them naturally.

However, his words revealed an undeniable self-importance and arrogance.

"Alright."

Harvey's eyes flashed when he saw Tony Stark actively approaching him, and he agreed.

"Then follow me."

Tony Stark saw that Harvey Anberaka did not refuse and was not surprised. He simply said a casual remark and then walked directly.

He led Harvey Anberaka and Coulson, who had followed, to a room next to the press conference venue.

"Harvey Anberaka, as far as I know, you've bought a large amount of our Stark Industries stock in the past two years."

"Based on Stark Industries' current market value, it's estimated to be worth around one billion U.S. dollars."

"Rumor has it that you only ever profit from stock purchases, never lose."

"But because of the news I announced today, your wealth should decrease significantly."

"Yet you don't seem surprised or angry at all; instead, you look somewhat pleased."

"Don't you feel heartbroken that your wealth will plummet from now on?"

Tony Stark poured himself a glass of Water and asked with some probing in his words.

One should know that his luxurious Stark Manor cost tens of millions of U.S. dollars to build.

One billion U.S. dollars is an enormous fortune that many people can't even dream of in a lifetime.

If that much money were to shrink by more than half, most people would be unable to bear it, and some might even faint from such sudden drastic changes.
