Chapter 11 - 11

Harvey left the press conference venue and headed to his luxury car.

"Let's go to a place I feel is safe; I'll listen to what you have to say."

Harvey Anberaka looked at Coulson, who had caught up, and directly waved him into the car.

Coulson didn't stand on ceremony; he opened the car door and got in.

Harvey drove away, heading towards his estate.

"What exactly do you want from me?"

Along the way, Harvey asked casually.

"Mr. Harvey Anberaka."

"Our Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division is a special unit established by the International Security Council specifically to handle various unusual incidents."

"Firstly, I can assure you that our department has no ill will towards a high-taxpayer like you."

"It's just that your rise has undoubtedly been very rapid and smooth, so based on our assessment, you might possess some superpowers."

"Therefore, we want to talk to you, and if possible, we hope to invite you to join us and contribute to Blue Star."

Coulson, hearing this, did not hide anything; he formally introduced himself and stated his purpose.

"So you're saying you had no evidence, just because you suspected I had superpowers, you sent that crazy woman to test me?"

"And with a gun, no less?"

"That doesn't look like a wise move to talk to me or recruit me to join you at all."

Harvey didn't give Coulson a good impression just because of Coulson's friendly attitude; instead, he continued to complain about the terrible impression Black Widow Natasha had left on him.

"Because we encountered some issues that day, that Agent's actions were a bit hasty."

"However, although she startled you, she shouldn't have truly harmed you, so please understand."

Coulson's expression was a bit awkward upon hearing Harvey's blunt attitude.

If it were an ordinary person, Coulson could have been more assertive, but facing a high-taxpayer like Harvey Anberaka, who had no negative information or weaknesses, his attitude couldn't be too aggressive, to avoid leaving an even worse impression.

Even if Harvey Anberaka wasn't a super-powered individual, based on Harvey Anberaka's various deeds over the past two years, if given some time to rise, he might become an investor in some of their projects one day.

"She didn't harm me, but she did scare me so much that I didn't dare to go out for a while."

Harvey's expression softened slightly, but his words still carried complaints and dissatisfaction.

"Mr. Harvey Anberaka, I am deeply sorry for that."

Coulson also honestly apologized and made amends on behalf of Black Widow Natasha.

"The ideal of contributing to Blue Star is great, provided that your internal intentions haven't changed from beginning to end and haven't become tools for certain politicians."

"However, I think it's impossible for you not to be controlled by those politicians."

"After all, your department was established by the International Security Council, and I'm afraid it has been deeply controlled by them from the start, making it impossible to act freely in many matters, isn't that right?"

"And I am just an ordinary citizen with some money, who doesn't need to worry about work or finances."

"So please don't bother me again."

"If, in the future, I truly receive some help and protection from you, I will sincerely express my gratitude to you."

"But you should know, it's definitely not now."

Harvey pulled the car over, shared some thoughts, and finally distanced himself.

He could take money for missions, but for him to join the Avengers, to be constrained and instructed by others, was absolutely impossible.

What he wanted to do depended entirely on his own will; if others wanted to command him, they had to see if they truly had that much power.

At least the HYDRA branch of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't, U.S. politicians certainly didn't, and public outcry couldn't affect him either.

He didn't want to reveal his identity now because the time wasn't ripe, and he didn't want to disrupt his comfortable life and affect his Evolution speed.

But if S.H.I.E.L.D. went too far, he would teach S.H.I.E.L.D. and America a good lesson.

Coulson saw the car stop and, from Harvey Anberaka's words, heard his dislike for politicians and his desire not to be controlled by others.

He couldn't deny that what Harvey Anberaka said was true.

"I understand. Thank you, Mr. Harvey Anberaka, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to discuss your thoughts with me."

So Coulson was silent for a moment, a hint of apology on his face, and then spoke.

Then, Coulson opened the car door and got out.

Although the conversation was not very pleasant, Coulson undoubtedly confirmed Harvey Anberaka's thoughts and attitude.

Although he couldn't completely confirm whether Harvey Anberaka was a super-powered individual, through his attitude, Coulson could be certain that whether Harvey Anberaka was a super-powered individual or not, he would not agree to join them.

Because no matter how good the initial intention of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division's establishment sounded, it was essentially an organization that would be influenced by politicians.

This was indeed some of the difficulties and obstacles they would inevitably face when trying to recruit others later on.

Completely eliminating this obstacle was impossible, so they could only try to blur and downplay the impact of such things on others.

After Harvey saw Coulson sensibly get out of the car, he didn't waste any words and drove away.

Coulson sent a message for someone to pick him up.

It wasn't wise for him to directly approach Tony Stark now, as Stark Industries was about to face a period of significant stock decline.

This would certainly cause Tony Stark to be entangled in some troubles, and if he wasn't in a good mood, then having a good chat with him would be out of the question.

As for the contact with Harvey Anberaka, he had no intention of reporting it, because even if he reported these matters, it would only make others in the department unhappy.

Harvey, on the other hand, returned all the way to his luxurious estate.

Because of his contact with Coulson, Harvey could now safely return to this estate, which he had left for several months.

Since someone came regularly to clean every week, there was no dust accumulated inside the estate.

Harvey returned home and turned on the television in the living room.

The television was filled with news about Stark Industries.

Countless people said Tony Stark had lost his mind, and some hosts put on incredibly exaggerated performances.

Stocks, such things, could rise and fall at any time due to rumors and events.

Not to mention, Tony Stark's statement about stopping weapon production was a bombshell.

Harvey opened the stock software, and sure enough, Stark Industries' stock was glowing green and steadily dropping.

Countless retail investors and some large holders with more shares were frantically selling off their stocks.

Fearing that even a second's delay would cause the value of their shares to drop.

Harvey knew that when Tony Stark announced the transition to the energy industry and showed results, the stock value would rise significantly.

But the current stock decline was just the beginning, so it wasn't yet time for him to buy a large number of shares.

Three updates today, this is the first.
