Chapter 15 - 15

Harvey came to the gourmet area, looked at the dazzling array of delicacies, and picked them out himself with a tray.

He had invested so much money in Stark Industries, so naturally, he didn't want to see Tony Stark suddenly suffer a major setback.

So he came here to take a look, give Tony Stark a reminder, and also fill his stomach.

Although there were other gourmet restaurants open, those places clearly didn't offer food as good as what was available at such a grand charity ball.

More importantly, there was no waiting for these; he could just eat to his heart's content.

Tony Stark walked to the bar, feeling a bit dejected, and ordered a drink at random.

"Hello, Mr. Tony Stark, I'm Agent Coulson; we met last time."

When Coulson saw Tony Stark walking towards the bar, he immediately went over and introduced himself.

"It's that one, right, Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division or something."

Tony Stark looked over upon hearing that, remembering something.

"Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division."

"It's even better that you remember."

Coulson smiled slightly upon hearing this, correcting him.

"You guys really should change that name."

Tony Stark felt a headache coming on after hearing that string of words.

"Many people have mentioned that issue, and we are indeed considering revising it."

"But let's not discuss that for now. This time, I'm here because I have something I'd like to understand, Mr. Tony Stark."

"Although I know you've been having a tough time recently, we still need to understand some things..."

Coulson didn't mind and, after agreeing, began to chat with Tony Stark.

"I'll consider it. I'm going to find my secretary first."

Tony Stark casually replied and then found an excuse to leave.

He went directly to his secretary, Pepper, but his gaze was directed towards the gourmet area.

When he noticed Harvey Anberaka was actually eating heartily over there, as if genuinely hungry, he was a bit speechless.

For him, hosting a charity ball was merely a routine act of doing good to gain a good reputation and exchange pleasantries with familiar acquaintances.

But this was only true for him; in the upper echelons of New York society, few could rival his status.

However, for Harvey Anberaka, a rising New York wealthy individual, being able to attend his charity ball was a good opportunity to network with other wealthy people and make introductions.

If he could secure some major collaborations, it would bring in a lot of money.

Even though approaching people might lead to being looked down upon or disdained by others, these things were unavoidable before truly becoming a prominent figure in others' eyes and integrating into this upper-class circle.

Yet, when Harvey Anberaka arrived, aside from himself going up to chat for a few sentences, Harvey Anberaka truly just ate on his own, seemingly with no intention of socializing with others.

Tony Stark thought for a moment and realized he still couldn't understand Harvey Anberaka's logic.

Meanwhile, Pepper noticed that when her boss, Tony, was talking to her, his gaze wasn't focused on her but rather on other places.

She initially thought Tony Stark was attracted to another young, beautiful woman, but upon following his gaze, she realized that wasn't the case at all.

"Are you very concerned about Mr. Harvey Anberaka?"

Pepper asked softly while dancing with Tony Stark.

"No, I'm just thinking about some things."

Tony Stark immediately denied it upon hearing the question.

"Agent Coulson seemed very interested in Harvey Anberaka earlier too, but he didn't disclose too many details to me."

Pepper, knowing Tony Stark's insincerity, said with a smile.

With Pepper's reminder, Tony Stark's brain spun wildly.

Just now, Coulson came to him wanting to ask about what happened to him in Afghanistan.

So, when they met last time, Coulson said he would visit again, which should have been for the same purpose.

However, instead of asking about what happened to him in Afghanistan, Coulson prioritized going to Harvey Anberaka last time to understand some things.

Although he still didn't know why Coulson sought out Harvey Anberaka, it seemed Harvey Anberaka's priority was higher than his?

The thought that he was outranked in priority by Harvey Anberaka made Tony Stark's mood a bit subtle.

If it had been earlier, he would definitely have felt very annoyed, but after chatting with Harvey Anberaka just now.

Tony Stark knew that Harvey Anberaka was too mysterious, so much so that he couldn't see through Harvey Anberaka at all.

So, rather than annoyance, he was curious about why Coulson had sought out Harvey Anberaka before.

Tony Stark looked back and found that Coulson was already gone. His mind recalled the contact information Coulson had proactively given him, left on the table.

But no matter how he tried to remember, because he hadn't paid much attention at the time, he couldn't find any memory related to Coulson's contact information in his mind.

"Shall we go to the balcony for some fresh air?"

Pepper noticed that Tony Stark seemed to have something on his mind, and she also felt the gazes on her from around them, so she suggested it proactively.

"Okay."

Tony Stark came back to his senses upon hearing this and nodded.

Harvey noticed that Tony Stark still went to the balcony with Pepper and didn't pay it any mind.

Harvey elegantly consumed all the delicacies laid out on the long table before him.

This caused the people around him to unconsciously turn their gazes towards Harvey.

Some young women nearby watched as, under Harvey Anberaka's polite and pleasingly elegant movements, the food was visibly disappearing at a rapid rate.

They all looked at Harvey Anberaka's stomach with some curiosity, wanting to figure out where all that food was going.

Despite Harvey Anberaka eating so much, his stomach didn't swell at all, as if the food was entering a bottomless black hole.

However, it was also because Harvey Anberaka was so focused on eating that even if they wanted to strike up a conversation, there was no suitable opportunity, so they could only watch as more and more empty plates accumulated.

This presented a curious phenomenon: everyone else was chatting and dancing, while Harvey Anberaka alone was eating.

Other men noticed their female companions and the women around them, all involuntarily turning their attention to Harvey Anberaka.

Outwardly, due to demeanor and the occasion, they didn't show it, but inwardly, they felt some disdain.

Harvey Anberaka, this newly risen nobody, not only didn't proactively greet them to seek cooperation but was also putting on a show as a big eater here.

Harvey paid no attention to the gazes directed at him from around.

This charity gala had ten tables laden with all sorts of delicacies, all of which contained a large amount of Evolution Points.

Harvey ate four of those tables, directly acquiring 530,000 Evolution Points, and then stopped eating.

If Harvey wanted to eat, no amount would be enough for him, but one shouldn't be too extreme; there were still hundreds of people present, so he had to leave some for others.

The Evolution Points acquired on this trip directly amounted to 3-4 days' worth for Harvey, so it was a worthwhile journey.

The women around were initially curious when they saw Harvey Anberaka eat one table, but then Harvey Anberaka proceeded to eat seven tables in a row.

Almost all the food for hundreds of people went into Harvey Anberaka's stomach; they were no longer curious but incredulous.

Harvey elegantly wiped his mouth with a handkerchief, finished the last bottle of fine wine on the table, drank it to moisten his throat, and then left.

These eight tables of food, plus the wine displayed, would have cost at least two million U.S. dollars, yet Harvey Anberaka consumed it all.

And it was one thing for Harvey Anberaka to drink so much fine wine; if he got drunk and made a fool of himself, it would at least give them a laugh and something to talk about after dinner.

But Harvey Anberaka showed no signs of being drunk; his face didn't even flush.

This astonishing appetite and alcohol tolerance made the men who had originally disdained Harvey Anberaka's eyelids twitch a few times.

It turned out that Harvey Anberaka wasn't here to make friends at all, but rather to eat them out of house and home.

With that appetite, in the future, whoever hosts a party or celebration, even if they want to invite Harvey Anberaka, will have to consider whether they've allocated that much budget for food.

If there isn't that much budget, this big eater with a good set of teeth really shouldn't be invited casually.

Meanwhile, the women looking at Harvey Anberaka's perfectly steady body, who had originally been hoping Harvey Anberaka would get drunk so they might have a chance to approach him.

So some young women watched the entire time, but from beginning to end, Harvey Anberaka ate and drank without showing any signs of being drunk, and they were all greatly disappointed.

Harvey Anberaka's status might not be as high as some of the prominent figures present, but Harvey Anberaka was young, handsome, tall, and wealthy.

Even setting aside his wealth, just based on Harvey Anberaka's tall physique, which still showed his robust muscles beneath his suit.

That alone was enough to make some young wealthy women present have some ideas, perhaps occasionally keeping him as a sugar baby to try some Asian flavor.

Unfortunately, while they could afford to keep other young handsome men, Harvey Anberaka was completely out of their league.

The undisguised looks of disappointment from some women at the ball made the other men feel somewhat annoyed.

Harvey Anberaka, simply by being there, attracted most of the attention and stole the show.

This made them start thinking about how they could make Harvey Anberaka suffer a little.

If he's a person, he must have weaknesses. So what are Harvey Anberaka's weaknesses?

For example, family or friends, or some companies under his name.

Using weaknesses, and employing some power and wealth at hand, it wouldn't be difficult to strike at Harvey Anberaka.

The prominent figures began to ponder Harvey Anberaka's information.

However, no matter how much they thought, they couldn't find any weaknesses for Harvey Anberaka in their minds.

Although Harvey Anberaka was a rising New York wealthy individual, he was also an existence completely detached from the New York wealthy elite, entirely on his own.

To strike at Harvey Anberaka, there was only one place to start: stocks.

But Harvey Anberaka's current major holdings were in Stark Industries.

If they wanted to strike at Harvey Anberaka, it meant they would have to go up against Stark Industries.

What a joke, weren't they currently attending Stark Industries' charity ball?

As for affecting the property prices under Harvey Anberaka's name, they wouldn't drop that easily.

Even if they wanted to, the authorities wouldn't allow them to spread rumors indiscriminately, causing house prices to plummet significantly.
