Mc explained: Atlas was not one to have a bountiful catch. No matter what he does, his nets normally come back with very little fish. He has never met it bring his spirits down though. Anytime he gets more than a tiny amount of fish he is confused but mostly overjoyed. Atlas has always had terrible luck so little things make him really happy. Atlas's physical appearance is rugged but handsome. He's a very straight man and currently and has a crush on a woman in town(we all know he's not, this is literally a bl)

Atlas was hauling his gear to his boat, getting ready to head out to sea. Yesterday wasn't a very big catch so he needed set out again to catch more fish to sell the market. Every time he'd put a rolled up net on the boat it would sway ever so slightly, disturbing the water causing a ripple effect. He felt so at peace when by the sea it was as if he could just bask in its presence forever. This fascination originally came from the stories in myth of the sharp people his mom would tell him about when he was just a young boy. He had always loved those stories. Despite not believing that they're real. It put him at ease to hear his mom talk so joyously about something. His mother was not in good health and she had gotten a life-threatening illness that the local doctors don't know what it is. He's been trying to make enough money to pay for the high-end doctors to come and treat her as they are the only ones who can. His mom was a very kind woman so he would do anything he can to help her.
The man got distracted by a very pretty woman who was walking by the docks. Other fishermen had stopped to stare as well. Her hair was a long loose curled brown that he swore had hints of red when the sun it at just the right Angle. The woman had heterochromia that caused her to have one green and one blue eye. The blue eye was on the right. It was so pretty it rivaled the beauty of the ocean. The green eye on her right had a certain look to it that reminded Atlas of the forest not far from the town. She had ran skin from the sun and her facial features were just the right proportions. Her body wasn't one of a model and was in the thicker side but that added to her beauty. Atlas herd from the other fishermen her name was Marie.
Atlas imeaditly snapped out of it as he was way out of her league with his slightly tanned but somehow still pale skin that was littered in scars and bruises from hauling nets and constantly getting hurt. His eyes were a deep brown just like his hair, although his brown hair was darker.
Atlas started to load the rest of his fishing gear onto the boat. It consisted of multiple nets, a tackle box, A big cooler and a couple fishing rods. You actually have yourself got on the boat trying to steady himself as it rocked slightly. The boat wasn't anything special. He had gotten it a while back. At the time it hardly even worked and so he had to make all the repairs and make sure it was running on his own. To him that boat was a very prized possession of his.
Atlas walked to the helm turning on the boat making sure everything was coming smoothly. Thankfully it was and so soon enough he was able to take off. The boat going through water he couldn't help but think about how he really hoped. He had a decent catch today. At some point he stops for a quick second to put his nets in the water. When he finishes he goes out to check the other nets he had already set the previous night. As he suspected there wasn't much fish but there was more than usuals so he was pretty happy. He pulled the nets up and put the fish in the cooler carefully picking out the ones that were too small or the fish that were inedible. He takes great care in this process, Making sure every single fish is good enough to be sold and if not he carefully places them back in the water. He has always had this respect for sea life for a fisherman. No one understood why he would choose his profession even when he cares deeply for the fish and the creatures of the ocean it's a practically a mystery.
Atlas takes off on the boat again to the deeper ocean where he will spend the rest of the time fishing using his fishing rods. He had gotten them a while back from the very man who time to fish in the first place. Just like his boat, he treasures them deeply. Atlas grabbed one which was pretty sturdy and is never failed him in the past. He puts a average size fish. He caught onto the big hook and casted it out into the ocean. Hoping the catch something good. In the back of his mind he really hopes he catches a shark as the meat will sell for a lot in the market and he gets bragging rights, which in the market is something that not many people have.
A bit of time has passed when he finally gets a bite. Atlas pulled back hard on the rod using his entire body, he leans back into it. The thing on the other end of the line was clearly strong and pretty big as it seems. At some point he almost loses his grip on the fishing rod but does because of the sheer willpower to catch this fish. It takes some time but he sees a glimpse of A silverish skin with a hint of a different color. He can't quite catch because of how much of the fish is struggling. Eventually he gets set on the boat and is completely shocked to see it's a blue marlin. He is never seen one before nor has he even hear anyone speak of catching one at the market. It is unusual for them to be out here but he doesn't care and puts it in the cooler.
After any eventful day of fishing, he returns to the nets to check to see what fish had been caught. To his surprise when he pulls up the nets they are filled with fish. He's never seen so many fish in his nets before. Atlas hurries and empties out the nets picking at the fish and surprisingly they're all eligible for him to keep. Again, he pays no mind to it. Thinking he just had a really good day today and puts in the cooler. At some point he catches a glimpse of a shark fin bigger than one he's ever seen before, but as soon as he sees it, it disappears under the water.
Atlas prepares his boat to head back to shore. Completely unaware of the two shadows circling The boat underneath. Atlas immediately takes off to the town so he can start prepping the fish for selling. He is so overjoyed that He could hardly form any words. All Alice could think about is how the jealous the other fishers are going to be at the fact that he caught a blue marlin and Atlas fully intends on teasing everybody else about it.
It doesn't take long for Atlas to get to shore because when he was working on the boat before he made sure it can go a pretty fast speed. Atlas pulls up into the docks putting the anchor down and tying it to the docks making sure it won't drift away at all. Atlas gets off and have to drag the cooler off using a ramp to get it safely on shore. The other fishers are surprised to see Atlas struggling to carry the cooler for once. One decides to speak up and ask him about it.
" Is it just me or did Atlas actually catch something for once? This is a miracle Atlas you were finally useful" the man teased The man who spoke with none other than atlas's. Best friend, Aaron. Atlas and Aaron have been friends since childhood and always shared the same interests in fishing. They normally treat each other like shit but that was mainly because of their friendship.
" Wow Aaron. You wound me" Atlas faked a very hurt tone, putting his right hand to his chest and the back of his left hand on his forehead. Atlas pretends to be hurt by Aaron's words, but sooner rather than later he flips Aaron off and continues to drag the giant cooler full of fish.
" Hey Atlas what did you catch? That kind of looks pretty heavy, Let me give you a hand" Aaron took the other side of the cooler helping Atlas carry it.
" Surprisingly today my nuts were full and I managed to catch a Marlin. My body hurts pretty bad now, but it was well worth it and it'll sell for a lot" Atlas responded with a proud tone.
Aaron, lets out a low whistle. Clearly impressed "damn, didn't think you had it in you"
Atlas could only glare at Aaron on the other side of the cooler. Finally, after a bit of walking they get it too to atlas's home where him and his sick mom live together. Atlas puts down the cooler and thanks Aaron for helping him take it home. Atlas waves Aaron off and starts to get the fish ready for prepping. After a couple hours or so the fish was all ready and prepped to be sold at the market and is placed back in the cooler for tomorrow.
Atlas enters the house which is quiet compared to what it normally is. He suspects his mom is probably asleep already as she sleeps for most of the day and it's quite late at night. He walks to his room ever so quietly avoiding this specific floorboards that creek to not wake up his mom. Atlas shrugs off his coat letting it drop to the floor once in his room. He gets into comfortable clothes and plops on the bed closing his eyes as he tries to sleep. The task is proven almost impossible because of the sound of the Town celebrating a festival that has been around for ages. It's supposedly happens every 10 years and lasts for a week. It's been happening hundreds of years. Some point everybody believed at the shark people were real In the festival would signify a decade of peace with them. Nowadays, it's more of a excuse to get drunk and party.
It is really late into the night when all the partying dies down in. Alice is finally able to catch some shut eye. Atlas ends up dreaming the one dream, well it More like a nightmare he's had since he was a kid. He normally that have such a dream occasionally pops up every now and then and it's the same every time. He is fishing peacefully, not doing anything when all of a sudden. He's pulled into the water and is completely conscious while sharks rip and tear at his body. In the dream he's forced to be awake and conscious enduring every single bit of it while he feels like he's drowning. The dream has never changed. Not once in years for some reason this time something feels different. When he's on the break of losing consciousness, the sharks disperse and he feels two pairs of eyes on him. His vision is way too blurry to make out the figures. They carefully reach out and put their hands under his body carefully lifting him up to the surface to breathe. Right as his body breaches the surface and takes a gas of a bear, he wakes up. He shoots out of bed gasping for air. Once he realizes he everything is okay. He looks outside the window and determines it to be morning and so he gets up and gets dressed to head out to the market.
At the market, Atlas has set up his stand and is currently laying out the fish, The Marlin getting his own table because the fish was so big it takes up the one he already had. It was not long till he had his first customer. When he looked up to greet them, he saw the brown shimmering hair with a red hue and eyes that have one green and one blue. It's clear who this is in Atlas takes a gulp before looking up " hi Marie..." Atlas says with a shaky voice
" Good morning Atlas" she said in that same sweet tone she uses on everybody but for some reason it feels different to him.

Hey guys that's the first chapter of my story! I really hope you guys like the story as I update it. The time I currently finish this chapter is 12:41 a.m. If there's anything you guys think I should improve on please let me know. Another thing, please do not mind the random capitals and grammar that isn't proper. I'm dyslexic so I can't write properly so I have to use the voice to text feature on my phone to write. Have a great great morning/night and blessed Be.
