In the age of the Xianxia Realm, the empire stretched across mountains, rivers, and endless plains. It was a land of jade palaces and crimson banners, where dynasties rose and fell like the changing of seasons. At the heart of this vast empire stood the Imperial Capital of Longyun, ruled by the mighty Emperor of the Dragon Throne.
Yet within this grand empire, countless smaller kingdoms pledged loyalty to the Emperor, each with its own traditions, rulers, and secrets. Among them was the Huánglóng Kingdom—the Kingdom of the Golden Dragon. Though small in size, it was rich in culture, proud in heritage, and strong in spirit.
The Huánglóng throne belonged to King Liang Wei, a just and noble ruler admired by his people. His reign brought prosperity, his decisions marked by wisdom, and his heart known for compassion. Beside him stood Queen Meiling, beloved for her grace and kindness, a woman whose presence soothed even the most restless soul.
But the greatest pride of Huánglóng was their daughter—Princess Liang Yuexin. Born beneath a full moon, she was named Yuexin, meaning Heart of the Moon. Her beauty was whispered about in poems, her intelligence praised in the court, and her courage admired by those who served her. With long raven hair, eyes like shimmering starlight, and a mind as sharp as a scholar's, Yuexin was more than a jewel—she was the very future of her kingdom.
Yet in the shadows of the palace lurked ambition.
King Liang Wei's younger brother, Prince Liang Zhen, had long hidden envy in his heart. He watched his brother sit upon the throne and seethed, believing himself the rightful ruler. His voice was honeyed before the people, but behind closed doors, his soul was poisoned with greed.
On the night of the Lantern Festival, as the kingdom bathed in golden light, treachery struck.
The grand hall was alive with music, laughter, and the glow of a thousand lanterns drifting into the night sky. Yuexin, dressed in silken robes of white and jade, danced gracefully, her presence enchanting the nobles. The people rejoiced, unaware that death had already entered the palace.
Suddenly, the banquet doors crashed open. Soldiers clad in black stormed in, blades gleaming like hungry wolves. Gasps filled the hall as nobles scrambled in terror.
King Liang Wei rose, his commanding voice echoing through the chamber. "What is the meaning of this madness?"
From behind the soldiers, Prince Liang Zhen emerged, his eyes glinting with triumph. "Brother," he sneered, "your time as king ends tonight. Huánglóng will have a new ruler—me."
"You dare betray your own blood?" the King roared, fury blazing in his eyes.
Liang Zhen smirked coldly. "Blood means nothing when power is at stake."
Chaos erupted as the soldiers overpowered the royal guards. The king and queen were seized, and chains bound their hands. Yuexin's heart raced as she clutched her mother's sleeve, fear searing through her veins.
"Mother, what is happening?" she whispered, her voice trembling.
Queen Meiling's eyes burned with desperation as she grasped Yuexin's hand tightly. "Listen to me, Yuexin. You must survive. You are the hope of Huánglóng."
Through the chaos, Meiling spotted the silk curtain at the edge of the hall—behind it, a secret passage known only to the royal family. She shoved Yuexin toward it. "Go, my daughter! Run, and never look back!"
"Mother, I cannot leave you!" Yuexin cried, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"You must!" Meiling's voice broke, yet her hands were steady as she pushed her daughter away. "Live, Yuexin. Live for us."
With one final glance at her chained parents, Yuexin fled into the darkness of the secret passage. Behind her, the sounds of steel clashing and voices shouting echoed like thunder.
Her world had shattered in a single night.
