Synopsis
I was simply a student enrolled in a magic academy. Chrysium Academy. I wasn't a commoner, nor in a prestigious family. Just- from a normally "wealthy" family. I took my classes with youth and vigor, hoping to become like one of the bigshots in the academy, but one particular day, something felt off. At one of the classes I was taking, while I took down notes during a session, I saw people dressed as mercenaries pass by the doorway. Nobody seemed to notice them. "Teacher, may I take the bathroom?" I asked. "You may go, Lukas Kartazen." He replied. ... As I followed them, they looked foreign, but nobody noticed them. No, rather, they didn't see them. But, for absolutely no reason, they exploded into millions of pieces, and found myself back in my seat in the class I took minutes ago. "...What?"

Chapter 1 - Samsara (1)

Chrysium Academy.

I managed to enroll myself into the most prestigious Royal Academy in the capital, as a baron from a third-rate Royal Family.

It's been already a couple of months, yet I still couldn't believe it. I'm taking classes here for the whole year...!

I walked slowly, embracing the scenery of the usual hallways, the doors of classes just lining up there.

I went inside a bathroom to take a small break.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror, my messy pastel green hair and golden eyes slightly standing out from others.

"I'm kind of handsome, aren't I?"

[Magic Refinement Class]

"This is my next class. My favorite one in particular... I can't wait." I mumbled to myself, opening the door to the classroom, walking inside and proceeding to take my seat.

"I really need to improve my magic circulation..." I sighed, looking at my friend which was my seatmate.

"You'll get there soon, Lukas. I believe in you." He smiled passionately, I wanted both sides of his pillow to be warm.

"You're saying that when you have all the talent in the world and a first-rate family, I'm jealous." I whined, shaking his shoulders.

"You'll really become better-" He said as I shook his shoulders.

"Silence!" The teacher yelled and appeared on the pedestal, who seemed to just teleported there.

Every single chatter and mumble immediately died down, the chirps of crickets only heard.

The lesson had started. It was about magic elements and of finding out our innate elements.

"Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Ice, Poison, Light, Darkness. There are much more elements, and those are the innate elements that are present in this world, and in yourselves."

"Today's lesson is about finding your innate element."

Upon hearing, the class erupted in chatters and whispers.

"Silence! Now, for the first student, please touch this crystal ball to view your element..." He stated.

The 3 Royal Heirs went first.

Reze, the crown princess, Kaylus, the crown prince, and Arthur, the third son of the king.

They were the unstoppable trio that came from the direct bloodline from the king, where one of them will come to ascend the throne.

"Kaylus Van Omerta, Light." The teacher remarked.

"Reze Van Omerta, Ice." He remarked.

"Arthur Van Omerta, Gravity." He remarked.

"Interesting, next." He blandly praised, signalling the next student to come up.

Whispers erupted the room, most students admiring the 3 heirs and the praise they had gotten from the teacher.

It was my turn then.

"Lukas Kartazen... Mind." He said with a slight hint of shock.

Mind? What's that supposed to mean?

Well, I'm the last person anyway, so I'll head back to my seat-

I caught a glimpse of a person walking by a doorway, nobody else seemed to notice.

What, who passed by? It wasn't a teacher, they were more like a mercenary... Intruders?

"You may now go back to your seat, Lukas." The teacher saw me daydreaming and I snapped back to reality.

"Oh, yes. I apologize." I sighed nervously and took my seat.

Who were those people? How did nobody else notice them, but I did? Even they were so clear in their view.

I'm curious.

During another lesson the teacher had started, I took my chance.

"Excuse me teacher, may I head to the bathroom?" I asked, standing up and raising my hand.

0:58

"...You may go." He replied.

As I rushed outside, I ran. I got an indescribable feeling. It wasn't something negative, but rather similar to "excitement."

There I was, I found them. In the first hallway. Many students were simply walking in the hallwaybut nobody seemed to notice them.

0:21

They were talking a whole completely different language. Not one that I know of.

What were they talking about? How come nobody else batted an eye?

0:09

It was kind of baffling for me, to be honest.

0:05

I took a step, trying to approach them from afar, but for absolutely no reason...

Their bodies all got sliced into a million pieces as their blood splattered everywhere.

0:00

"Haah...!" I gasped, waking up to see myself in my seat in my classroom. I quietly gagged while facing my head down to lower any sound and avoid attention.

"Silence! Now, for the first student, please touch this crystal ball to view your element..." He stated.

What the fuck, they died just like that? From what?

Wait, this lesson is familiar.

If my memory serves me right, then...

...Kaylus will get light,

"Kaylus Van Omerta, Light." The teacher remarked.

Reze will get ice,

"Reze Van Omerta, Ice." The teacher remarked.

and Arthur will get gravity.

"Arthur Van Omerta, Gravity." The teacher remarked.

"Interesting, next." The teacher blandly praised them.

Why am I in the exact same situation I was in a couple minutes ago?

It's my turn again...

...Within expectations, I gained the mind element again, but this time, the weird mercenaries didn't pass by.

That's, weird... Aren't they supposed to pass by now? What if I go ahead and ask to go to the bathroom?

Would they be in the same place?

I ran, trying to look for the unusual party. I found them, and they weren't noticed like before, but were in the second hallway. They emitted different auras and were dressed differently.

It took way longer to find them too.

What the hell is going on here...?

0:00

Their bodies split into a million pieces again and their blood splattered everywhere.

"What..?!" I gasped, finding myself in the same lesson the teacher was discussing earlier.

Is this a prank or something? Why are they all dying?

I counted how long it took for me to wake up here again, I have exactly 5 minutes after my evaluation.

5:00

I have to ask the teacher to go to the bathroom as quick as possible to look for the party like that.

4:32

I gasped as I ran with all my might, trying to find them, and I did. Completely different people, but they were still unnoticed by the background.

This time, they're in the third hallway.

Improvement. I've found them 4 minutes earlier.

But, how do I talk to them? I should come up to them.

"Excuse me," I greeted them, and they seemed to be surprised.

"######" A female remarked.

"#####, ##############?" The male asked to the woman.

She chanted a spell and then I could understand.

"Can you understand me now?" She asked me one more time.

"Yes, so, how are you in the academy?" I asked.

"We were asked from the #####-" She says but it distorts her image, and I got a sudden headache.

...what?

"It's forbidden to say that word to them. Anyways, our job here is to protect one individual from death, but we don't know who exactly..." The man explains.

"I see. But, how is one dying in the academy? The security is pretty tight here." I mumbled, confused and thinking of any possibilities.

2:31

"We still have a bit of time, let's explore the academy. Care to guide us?" The female smirked as she spoke.

"Maybe the second prince. I assume it can't be the obvious person." I said.

"You've got brains." The man said.

1:26

"I can't really go inside, cause they're gonna see me." I told the two people.

"...He can't see us. I don't think he's the individual." The woman uttered.

"Shit, we have no time to waste." The man said with nervousness in his eyes.

0:39

We ran in the hallways to try find any individual that could see them, but none did.

0:01

"Fuck-" The woman exclaimed.

I widened my eyes as I saw a shower of blood explode from their bodies, and I woke up again.

"Haah...!" I gasped as I woke up from the very same lesson.

I gagged as I thought about the way they died.

Do I have to keep witnessing this type of death every 5 minutes...?
