Chapter 38 - The Hero's Weird Farewell Party: Wave Goodbye Dog

Ivan Vanko stood in the middle of the track, facing Dominic who was flashing red light, his eyes looking down at him were cold and disdainful. Although he started to feel a hint of guilt and cowardice inside, he glanced at the two electric whips dancing in his hands, the current "hissing" as if cheering him on. His eyes turned fierce, and he shouted, "You think you can scare me?!" With that, he suddenly swung the whips, strong currents drawing two dazzling arcs in the air, striking directly at Dominic.

Ivan roared, swinging his whips, the two electric whips like two enraged pythons, the current flashing dazzling blue light, accompanied by thunderous sounds, whistling through the air and smashing towards Dominic. Each strike was powerful and heavy, as if to tear the air apart. Dominic's figure flickered lightly, directly suspending himself in the air, dodging Ivan's attack. The seemingly fierce current was like hitting air, not even touching the hem of his clothes.

Dominic tilted his head slightly, a playful smile on his face, as if enjoying a performance lacking any novelty: "Wow, electric whips? How creative, but... are you planning to use that to herd cattle or dance? Or how about we add some background music to spice things up?"

Ivan was stunned, his face blank, the whips in his hands stopped in mid-air. He had clearly launched an aggressive attack, but was left completely disoriented by Dominic's light remark, frozen in place.

"Your whips look quite high-tech, but... they kind of resemble cattle prods, not that I'm saying." Dominic floated lightly in the air, hands behind his back, smiling effortlessly, "I mean, if you're looking to audition for the circus, I could certainly recommend a few avenues."

Ivan's face turned ashen with anger, his whole body trembling, the electric light on his whips flashing even more intensely. He glared at Dominic's mocking expression, his eyes spitting fire, "Bastard!" he cursed under his breath, suddenly turning around and running away, clearly realizing that the opponent in front of him was not someone he could easily deal with.

Seeing this, Dominic burst into laughter as if he had seen the funniest thing ever: "Oh, weren't you quite fierce just now? Why are you chickening out now? You're running really fast!" The laser from his eyes shot out instantly, hitting the road directly in front of where Ivan was running. With a loud bang, a large pit was blasted into the ground, blocking Ivan's path.

Ivan stumbled, startled by the sudden explosion, his steps unsteady, nearly falling. He quickly stopped, his eyes filled with terror, swallowing hard, feeling his blood rushing backward. He cursed himself inwardly: "Damn it! I've run into a monster! Why did I have to provoke such a lunatic!"

Just as Ivan stood there, his face stiff, not knowing what to do, Abomination carefully pulled Tony out of the smoking race car. Tony was covered in dust but unharmed. Under Abomination's cover, he took off his racing suit and called for the Mark armor. Not long after, Tony, fully armed in the Iron Man suit, flew in front of Ivan.

Tony looked at Ivan in front of him, then at Dominic floating in the air, and couldn't help but mutter, "This party is really getting livelier." He landed in front of Ivan, raised his hand to scan the opponent's equipment, and seeing the two swinging electric whips, a sarcastic smile curved his lips.

"Buddy," Tony said in that nonchalant tone, full of confidence and mockery, "Where did you buy this gear? And these electric whips, I remember seeing something similar at a country fair a long time ago, but they were mainly used for herding cattle." Tony slightly raised his hand and gently tapped his helmet with his finger, "If you're interested, I can help you upgrade it, put in a few flashy light bulbs, maybe you can make a name for yourself in a nightclub."

Ivan's face turned green with anger, but he had no way to refute it. After all, compared to Tony's armor and his own "Whip Lash armor," both in terms of design and technological content, they were completely on different levels. He tightened his grip on the electric whips, glaring fiercely at Tony and Dominic.

Dominic leaned down slightly in the air, a playful smile on his lips: "Ah, Tony, you're finally here. I thought you were going to lie in that pile of scrap metal for a while. Speaking of which, this guy runs quite fast, how should I put it... how about we give him a 'Fastest Fugitive Award'?"

Tony lightly patted the armor on his chest, replying with a confident look: "I just wanted to give him a little hope just now. After all, for a hero, it's more interesting to let the villain run a couple of steps. You know, letting them have hope and then completely destroying it, that's what you call a slap in the face."

Dominic laughed heartily, his tone carrying a hint of cold mockery: "Well said, I like it. Now let's see how far this 'Fastest Fugitive' can run."

Just as Tony, Blonsky, and Dominic were facing each other and joking, the tense atmosphere on the track solidified again. Ivan Vanko knew he was in an extremely unfavorable situation. A trace of despair flashed in his eyes, but there was more unwillingness and anger.

"Bastards... just you wait!" Ivan gritted his teeth, saying fiercely, "I will definitely get my revenge, no matter the cost!"

The police car sounded "woo-wah woo-wah" as it slowly arrived, putting Ivan Vanko into the back seat. The onlookers gradually dispersed, but on the other side of the track, a strange farewell ceremony was quietly taking place. Tony, Dominic, Blonsky, and Happy Hogan, along with a Shar-Pei that Dominic had somehow gotten, all struck a bizarre pose in unison, as if performing some mysterious summoning ritual.

Dominic stood at the front, one hand raised high, the other pointing diagonally towards the sky, his face still wearing an inexplicable confident smile. Tony and Blonsky were on either side of him, each bending one leg and striking some exaggerated pose with their hands, as if imitating some superhero style. And Happy was on the very edge, trying to copy their movements, but no matter how you looked at it, it seemed like he was trying to fart but holding it in.

The most hilarious part was the Shar-Pei. It stood by Dominic's feet, mouth open, tongue hanging out, tail wagging like an electric fan, and occasionally letting out a few "woof woof" sounds towards Ivan, as if giving him a final salute.

"Alright, Ivan, remember to come play again next time!" Dominic, with a toothpick in his mouth, waved at Ivan who was being put into the police car, "But you might need to change your gear. Next time, get an armor that automatically poops, at least it can help you with your problems."

Tony stood aside, watching Ivan being taken away by the police car with complete indifference, and casually checked his phone, "Hey, Blonsky, I think we can call this pose... 'Galaxy's Strongest'? How about it?"

Blonsky casually flicked his hair, revealing a baffling cool expression, his voice low and hoarse: "You can call me... 'Beach Phantom'." After saying that, he deliberately struck an even stranger pose, crossing his hands over his chest, his eyes full of disdain.

Happy, meanwhile, was struggling to imitate them, resulting in his whole body nearly tying itself in knots. He let out an "ouch," his lower abdomen protruding, almost falling to the ground, and said breathlessly, "What are you guys doing? I feel like my waist is going to break."

The Shar-Pei, however, was completely oblivious to all this. It occasionally licked its nose, sometimes looking in the direction of the police car, baring its teeth and making strange "owoo owoo" sounds, as if imitating the roar of an engine.

Tony watched all this and suddenly said, "Hey, guys, I have a feeling that us doing this pose behind the police car is practically hinting at him to go form a 'Super Villain Team'. What do you think?" After saying that, he winked at Dominic.

Dominic immediately followed up: "Of course, that's called the '**Universe's Number One Villain Pose**'. If you want to join, you have to be able to strike this super cool pose, and have a dog with you." After saying that, he lowered his head and looked at the Shar-Pei: "Right, little doggy?"

The dog paused for a moment, then let out an excited "woof," and immediately extended its paws forward, as if imitating Dominic's movements, which made the few of them burst into laughter.

Just as the few of them were having fun, completely forgetting they were in a formal setting, Pepper suddenly came running over, her face full of anxious expression: "Tony, are you okay? Are you guys all crazy? This is a race track! And what is this strange farewell ceremony?"

Seeing Pepper arrive, the three of them and the dog immediately stopped their actions. Tony shrugged nonchalantly, pretending to be serious as he said to Pepper: "Oh, dear, we were just performing... a special blessing ceremony, like lighting a lamp to guide his way."

Pepper glanced at Tony suspiciously, then looked at the other two and the Shar-Pei: "You guys aren't plotting something messy, are you?"

Dominic immediately raised his hands, looking innocent: "How could that be, Pepper? We just wanted to give our new friend a special farewell ceremony. After all, not everyone gets this kind of treatment, right?"

"Moreover," Blonsky chimed in, "this is a 'big scene' for us. 'Lighting the lamp' isn't something just anyone can enjoy." After saying that, he even winked at Pepper, seemingly implying something.

Tony casually took out his car keys from his pocket, revealing a mysterious smile: "Since the 'lamp' has been lit, why don't we make a quick getaway? There's an even more exciting 'lamp' waiting to be lit tonight."

Dominic and Blonsky immediately understood Tony's meaning and said in unison: "Then let's hurry up and go, don't delay the important matter." After saying that, the few of them and the dog immediately stood in a line, bumping shoulders with each other, striking a very exaggerated waving pose, imitating the classic group entrance stance from some anime, and then walked towards the parking lot together.

"We'll go get the 'lamp' ready first, Pepper, you can follow slowly." Tony turned back and said to Pepper, a playful smile on his lips, his tone full of suggestion.

Pepper shook her head helplessly, but couldn't help but laugh: "You guys, I really don't know what you're up to all day."
