Chapter 40 - Iron Man's Late Night Chicken Soup and Bronski's Midnight Dinner

Night fell, and the entire city of New York was enveloped in the interweaving of stars and neon lights, appearing hazy and brilliant. The party gradually dispersed, and the luxurious hotel building regained a hint of tranquility. The cool breeze on the rooftop blew, providing a moment of peace. Tony Stark leaned against the corner of the building, holding a bottle of iced beer in his hand, his eyes distant, his expression showing a hint of fatigue and an indescribable melancholy. His suit jacket was casually tossed aside, and two buttons on his shirt were undone, completely gone was the image of the glamorous and energetic billionaire. In its place was a slightly lonely man, silently watching the city lights, as if contemplating something.

Just then, Dominic slowly walked over, holding a wrinkled Shar-Pei. His steps were as relaxed and confident as ever, as if he had just returned from a graceful curtain call on stage. Seeing Tony like that, he slightly raised an eyebrow, and a playful smile appeared on his face.

"Hey, old Tony, are you pondering life, or just spacing out?" Dominic said in a teasing tone, slowly approaching and putting down the Shar-Pei he was holding. The dog lay listlessly on the ground, yawning, seemingly not very interested in the World around it.

Tony didn't respond, just sighed, casually grabbed a bottle of beer from beside him, shook it slightly, and then threw it forcefully towards Dominic. "Here, have a drink. It's not like we have anything important tonight anyway."

Dominic reached out and caught it gently; the bottle landed steadily in his hand. He lowered his head to look at the bottle, then glanced at Tony, shaking his head with a smile. "Whoa, what's going on here? How did our 'Iron Man Billionaire, World Savior, King of Parties' suddenly turn into a down-and-out poet?" He deliberately dragged out each title, his voice full of mockery. "You're not brewing some profound philosophy of life, are you? Or are you thinking about how to mold yourself into a tragic hero of the new era?"

Tony took a small sip from the beer bottle, his eyes still fixed on the distant city lights, a tired smile on his face. "Profound philosophy of life? No, buddy, don't overthink it. I just want to... enjoy this brief quiet." He looked up, glancing at Dominic, a trace of imperceptible melancholy in his eyes. "You know, sometimes, when you feel like you have everything, you feel like you can't hold onto anything."

Dominic slightly raised an eyebrow, saying nothing, just quietly watching Tony.

Tony shook the beer bottle in his hand, making a crisp sound. "Money, power, fame... I have all these things, but they can't stop time from flowing, nor can they solve all my problems for me." He chuckled slightly, a hint of self-mockery in his voice, which was low and relaxed. "You know, I got a call from Pepper tonight, and I just brushed her off... but deep down, I had this indescribable feeling, as if something was slowly leaving me."

Dominic's eyes moved slightly. He slowly squatted down and gently placed the Shar-Pei beside Tony. The dog boredly pawed at Tony's pant leg, as if trying to get his attention.

"Oh, don't be so down." Dominic shrugged, sat down next to Tony, and opened the bottle of beer. "You're Tony Stark. Even if the end of the World came, you could just whip up some high-tech gadget and reverse it, right?" His tone was light, but his eyes were somewhat serious. "Besides, who would have thought you'd be in the corner of a tall building like this, feeling lost like an ordinary person? It's truly... surprising."

Tony didn't respond, just silently took a sip of beer, his gaze still fixed on the distance, seemingly lost in deep thought. After a while, he spoke in a low voice, with a hint of self-mockery. "If that day really comes, I hope you'll remember not to put my ashes in that damn office. It'd be best to scatter me at some party venue, so I can continue to be with you guys in the liveliest place."

Dominic laughed, gently patting Tony's shoulder. "Tsk, your funeral arrangements are quite stylish. But I'm not planning on letting you say goodbye so soon. After all, who else could take over as the King of Parties?" He deliberately elongated his words, with a hint of cynicism. "Besides, maybe we'll even have a chance to drink beer together and watch you continue to shine at parties in the underworld."

Tony finally showed a hint of a smile, shaking his head. "Dominic, I really don't know if you're comforting me or cursing me." His smile was a bit forced, but there was finally a trace of relaxation in his eyes.

Dominic also smiled, picked up his beer, and clinked it against Tony's. "Whatever you say. Don't forget, you still have time, and plenty of chances to do more crazy things. As for tonight, now that things have quieted down, let's just enjoy this rare tranquility."

Tony nodded, took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled, as if releasing the pent-up emotions in his chest at that moment. He looked at Dominic, then at the Shar-Pei lying by his leg, the corner of his mouth slightly turned up. "Thanks, buddy. It's rare to be able to talk about these things with you tonight."

"Don't mention it." Dominic raised the beer bottle to his lips, took a small sip, a playful glint in his eyes. "Of course, next time you'll have to buy me something more expensive."

The Shar-Pei suddenly stood up, ambled around Tony and Dominic, wagged its tail, and suddenly barked at Dominic. Dominic looked down at the dog, reached out and gently stroked its head. "See, even it agrees."

The night wind blew gently. Tony and Dominic sat side-by-side in the corner like this, looking at the city lights not far away, feeling a bit tired, yet with a rare sense of ease. On this short night, they cast aside all identities and responsibilities, simply two "ordinary people" drinking beer.

Meanwhile, Blonsky was completely immersed after the party's revelry, not stopping for a moment. After the party ended, he walked straight towards the luxurious large room below the hotel, arm in arm with a few beauties he'd picked up from who knows where, 'pretending' to be drunk and swaying, his face full of an energetic smile.

"Come on, beauties, the battle tonight has just begun." Blonsky said, feigning seriousness, but a mischievous glint sparkled in his eyes. "Don't think there's only one battlefield. I can conquer anywhere."

The beauties giggled and surrounded him, letting out peals of laughter like silver bells, as if completely captivated by his ruggedness and charm. Their arms were tightly wrapped around Blonsky's shoulders, occasionally whispering sweet nothings in his ear, and every now and then letting out a playful laugh.

Blonsky seized the opportunity to wrap his arm around the slender waist of one of the blonde beauties, and whispered softly in her ear, "Don't worry, I won't disappoint you. Tonight is a night for complete 'release'." His voice was low and carried a hint of ambiguity, as if setting the stage for the madness that was about to come.

As the door slowly closed, faint sounds of low revelry could be heard from inside the room, mixed with laughter and flirtatious murmurs. Outside, the night wind blew across the beach, while Blonsky was already deep in another kind of "battle," completely intoxicated in the embrace of alcohol and beauties.

"Tonight, belongs to me." This was his final murmur, and then, all sounds were shut away inside the room.
