Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 – The First Clash

The Marines were in chaos. Their Captain lay broken, the civilians had begun to rally, and still the courtyard trembled with fear at the presence of the silver-haired stranger.

But their discipline cracked back into place when an officer barked, "DON'T JUST STAND THERE—ATTACK! TAKE DOWN THE INTRUDERS!"

Dozens of rifles snapped into place.

Magnus didn't move. His cold eyes swept the courtyard, calculating and judging. He could end this in a heartbeat. But a part of him the strategist, the observer—wanted to see what these two boys were capable of.

Luffy stretched his arms, that irrepressible grin never fading. "Zoro, let's do this!"

Zoro smirked around his sword, dropping into his stance. "Just don't get in my way, Captain."

Then they moved.

The Marines opened fire, but bullets ricocheted harmlessly off Luffy's rubber flesh. He laughed, fists snapping back like slingshots before rocketing forward GOMU GOMU NO PISTOL! Soldiers dropped like flies, crashing into walls and scattering like leaves in a storm.

Beside him, Zoro cut a path of his own. Blades whistled through the air, precise and merciless, cleaving rifles, helmets, and pride in a single sweep. His style wasn't elegant—yet it was overwhelming, the weight of a man who lived by steel alone.

Magnus watched, his sharp eyes reading every move. Raw talent. Fierce will. Their paths are reckless, but undeniable.

A squad of Marines broke formation, circling toward Luffy's exposed flank.

Before they could strike, Magnus moved.

A blur of silver hair and blackened fists tore through their ranks. Armament Haki shimmered across his knuckles as he struck with surgical precision each blow disabling without mercy.

One Marine dropped clutching his ribs, another crumpled with shattered kneecaps, a third fell choking from a blow to the throat.

Blood sprayed and Screams echoed.

Where Luffy was chaos and Zoro was steel, Magnus was cold efficiency—the storm's sharp edge.

Koby stood frozen, eyes wide as he clutched his fists to his chest. He had seen Morgan's brutality, had endured it. But this… this was different. Luffy's laughter, Zoro's defiance, Magnus's cold precision—it wasn't tyranny. It was strength wielded freely, without any chains.

His throat tightened. This… this is what real strength looks like…

Within minutes, the courtyard was silent once more. Marines groaned on the ground, too broken to rise. The civilians stared wide-eyed from the edges of the square, caught between fear and awe.

Zoro slid his blades back into their sheaths with a sharp click, sweat dripping down his jaw. "Tch. Guess I'm out of practice."

Luffy laughed, hands behind his head as though nothing had happened. "That was fun!"

Magnus stood apart, his silver hair catching the sunlight, his cold gaze sweeping the aftermath. He said nothing but in the silence, his presence spoke louder than words.

Zoro glanced his way, a smirk tugging at his lips. "You're one hell of a monster, White Fang. If you're sticking with this idiot… I'll have to keep an eye on you."

Magnus didn't answer. His eyes flicked briefly to Koby, who still trembled where he stood but whose fists clenched tighter than before.

Fragile, yet unyielding. Even the smallest spark can ignite a fire.
