"But Lin Feng used the word 'descended'," Agent Hill pointed out. "Could it be... a god actually descended? If that's the case, we're in serious trouble. Does that mean those legendary gods might actually exist?"
If that's true, it means the gods from those pantheons could really exist. Thinking about the gods from myths, the ones who could destroy the world with a flick of their wrist... that's beyond S.H.I.E.L.D.'s capabilities.
They struggle against ordinary werewolves and vampires, needing UV bullets or silver bullets, and full-on gear to even the playing field.
But what about gods?
And if gods exist, then what about demons?
These are indescribable existences. In myths, whether gods or demons, they all possess immense power, far beyond S.H.I.E.L.D.'s current power structure.
"If that's the case, we might need to consider dealing with those demons and gods," Nick Fury said.
Yes, in his heart, even the Gods were not of the same kind. What if they wanted to invade Earth? After all, various myths subtly depicted Gods enslaving ordinary humans.
"As for the Hell Demons, I know a playboy exorcist. Maybe I can ask him about some things!" Nick Fury's mind conjured an image of a carefree, white man.
He wasn't completely ignorant of Hell Demons. However, the occasional ones that possessed ordinary people weren't particularly troublesome.
Not to mention, humanity had the Holy Knights of the Church, exorcists, demon hunters, and many other special professions. But if they were to come in large numbers, it would be a different story.
"Hey, guys, don't you think the focus should be on this? The Avengers assembling to fight Aliens? An alien army?" Natasha (Black Widow) spoke up.
Everyone's expressions shifted slightly upon hearing this. Compared to Gods or Hell Demons, an alien invasion seemed like a more acceptable scenario for the average American.
"I hope it's not an alien army. If it's just some aliens, we might stand a chance!" Hawkeye Barton felt a little uneasy.
He was considered a seasoned veteran, but his experiences certainly didn't include aliens. Who knew what kind of beings they were?
"If that's the case, I think I understand what Lin Feng meant by not having many good days left!"
Nick Fury thought for a moment, then said, "But I think the scale probably won't be huge. Otherwise, with just the Avengers, it wouldn't be enough!"
He knew his Avengers team very well. Honestly, even with Tony Stark and the originally planned Hulk, it was just a small squad.
It was meant for elite special operations, not for trench warfare. After all, even someone as powerful as the Hulk had to avoid the human military, didn't he?
Besides, if aliens could invade Earth, it meant their strength was far beyond Earth's.
"Aliens, aliens, aliens!"
In Tony Stark's mansion, he stared intently at the contents of the notebook. He didn't care much about the other things, but the alien invasion was enough to concern him.
First Thor, then an alien invasion; neither was simple.
Especially when mentioning an alien invasion, his mind conjured scenes from Hollywood blockbusters, all sorts of aliens. But without a doubt, their power was far superior to current Earthlings.
Humans were considered the dominant species on Earth, but on a cosmic scale, they were just a bunch of skinny monkeys who hadn't even flown off the planet.
This immediately doused Tony Stark's pride, which had just bloomed from creating the Mark Armor, like a bucket of ice water.
His Mark Armor was more than enough to handle ordinary Earth weaponry, but if he faced Aliens, it might just become a toy in their eyes.
He had to find a way to upgrade the Mark Armor, and he had to mass-produce it!
The Lone Ranger approach was clearly no longer suitable.
Tony Stark immediately abandoned his plan to go out and find some young models, and got back to work.
"Jarvis, create another file for me. File name: Mark II. Also, create another file for a feasibility study on the mass production of the Mark Armor!" Tony Stark said.
"Okay, completed!"
Jarvis replied.
"No, I still need to think of something. Jarvis, create a reminder for me. I want to transform this house into a fortress capable of withstanding the end of the world!" Tony Stark thought for a moment and said.
Besides the alien threat Lin Feng mentioned, he also said that in some absurd timelines, the entire city would turn into zombies. He would need to protect himself and Pepper. Therefore, he had to transform the entire mansion into an above-ground and underground fortress.
This kind of doomsday shelter, an underground fortress, was once extremely popular during the peak of the Cold War. Many wealthy people had made similar preparations, but Tony Stark never believed in such things.
However, now, knowing there was danger, he couldn't avoid making preparations.
Moreover, even if it was just a possible future, even Lin Feng himself said it was difficult to determine whether it would evolve into such an absurd future.
"Also, find a way to infiltrate the global bio-companies and national-level laboratories, monitor their research progress, and see if what they're researching could lead to a large-scale zombie outbreak!" Tony Stark thought for a moment, then said. "Especially keep a close eye on our country's government projects!"
Tony Stark knew the true face of the U.S. government too well. If it suddenly came out that they were researching some kind of zombie virus, he wouldn't be surprised.
In his understanding, the so-called timelines were probably just possibilities. The future might not necessarily develop into a future where the city was filled with zombies, but it was still possible.
So he had to be prepared. If there was indeed a zombie virus that could lead to the destruction of humanity, he had to find a way to intervene in advance.
Giving up and waiting to die, or just standing by and doing nothing, wasn't his style.
