Chapter 18 - Diary Content Overload

"Universe 1999? Does this mean there are other universes, from Universe 1 to Universe 1999, or even more?" Tony Stark asked.

"Yes, sir, logically speaking, that's the case!" Jarvis replied. "As you said before, the universe he originally belonged to might be a higher-dimensional universe, and it's possible they have some ability to observe other universes!"

"So, this completely confirms the existence of other multiverses, or parallel universes?" Tony Stark said. "It seems our technology might be far behind theirs!"

Currently, human technology struggles even to observe our own universe, and the observable universe is limited, let alone observing other universes.

"Then why is our universe called the Marvel Universe? Is Universe 1999 another name for the Marvel Universe?" Tony Stark stroked his chin, thinking. "And what's this DC Universe? Could it be that each universe, besides a numerical designation, is also given a name based on some of its characteristics?"

I wonder, with the timeline all messed up like this, isn't the Ancient One going to do something? But then again, except for Doctor Strange, who's related to his retirement, he probably doesn't care about anything else!

But I hope this world's timeline isn't too crazy. Please, don't let me wake up one day and see the whole city turned into zombies. That's too scary. I'd rather have the Purple Potato snap his fingers!

Tony Stark immediately caught several keywords here: timeline, Ancient One, Doctor Strange, the whole city turned into zombies, and the Purple Potato snapping his fingers. They all seemed very complex.

"Timeline… Could timelines really exist?" Tony Stark was a bit confused. According to current scientific explanations of time, it was difficult to even say whether time truly existed. It was even possible that time was just a construct of human perception.

As for the Ancient One and Doctor Strange, he didn't know them and had never heard of them.

But from Lin Feng's words, it seemed like this Ancient One could manage these messy matters. Could she be some unknown big shot?

The part about the whole city turning into zombies was frightening.

From the context, it implied that if the many possibilities of the future were viewed as a linear thing, one possible future was the appearance of all sorts of zombies.

Just thinking about the various zombies depicted in all sorts of artistic works made his scalp tingle.

Zombie movies were also one of Hollywood's favorite horror genres.

As for what this Purple Potato was, he didn't know. And what was the Purple Potato snapping its fingers?

For a moment, Tony Stark's mind was a mess, feeling like he had been infused with a lot of strange new knowledge.

At this moment, Nick Fury was also staring at the words constantly appearing in the diary, lost in thought.

The information revealed within likely concerned the future crises that would unfold, such as the zombie crisis, and, for instance, the unknown Purple Potato's snap, which didn't sound like anything good.

"But there aren't many peaceful days left. In a short while, Tony Stark will announce to the world that he is Iron Man. Then what? Captain America's return, Thor's arrival, and finally, the Avengers' first gathering to fight aliens. Should I stay away? But that seems to be a 2012 thing. It's a bit too early to run now!"

Another passage of information that was explosive, making Nick Fury's scalp tingle.

"Nick, the Captain America mentioned here, couldn't that be the Captain America we know?"

At this moment, a slightly raspy female voice came from beside Nick Fury.

It was none other than Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, with her red hair and a fiery figure.

Beside her were Hawkeye Barton, the rookie village chief from various Marvel stories, Coulson, and Agent Hill, a senior agent.

These were all Nick Fury's most trusted confidants, so after Nick Fury obtained this diary, he had summoned them and informed them of all this.

At the same time, Nick Fury was also trying to confirm something: whether this diary was something no one could be told about, or if it was just that Lin Feng couldn't be told about its existence.

In the end, it was proven that he simply couldn't reveal the diary to Lin Feng directly.

"If I'm not mistaken, it should be Captain America!" Nick Fury nodded and said.

"Oh my god, but, isn't Captain dead?" Coulson said, shocked and delighted.

No one here was happier than him, because he had been a loyal fan of Captain America since childhood.

After World War II, the American government had tirelessly engaged in a deification campaign for many years. Captain America had become a symbol of freedom for America. But probably no one expected that Captain America, who had been presumed dead for decades, would actually return one day.

"But the data shows that Captain America is missing. No one saw him die, and no one found his body, right?" Black Widow Natasha thought for a moment and said.

Everyone thought about it and realized that it was indeed the case. Although they had always assumed that Captain America, Steve Rogers, was dead, who had actually seen him die?

"But at his age, even if he's still alive, he probably can't even walk anymore. Are we really expecting him to go to war?"

Hawkeye, Barton, said.

The thought of it made everyone feel quite ridiculous. Captain America, with white hair and no teeth, wearing a ridiculous suit, hobbling onto the battlefield with a cane. The scene would be as strange as could be.

"Forget it. If Captain is still alive, we'll find him eventually!" Nick Fury thought for a moment and stopped discussing this headache. "But this Thor... which Thor? It couldn't really be the Thor from some mythology, could it?"

Everyone looked at each other, the world had too many pantheons, and there were many with the title of Thor.

It was even possible that a certain ordinary supervillain or superhero could have the alias Thor.

"If it really is a god, it doesn't seem so incomprehensible, after all, vampires, werewolves, and the like exist, don't they?" Hawkeye, Barton, said.

Among the various things S.H.I.E.L.D. dealt with daily, they also handled some restless werewolves and vampires, who were all creatures from myths and legends. Now a Thor had appeared, which seemed quite reasonable.
