Ivy's POV
"Ugh." A pained groan erupted from behind the chair, causing me to slap my hand over my mouth in shock. "Are you trying to obliterate me, pup?"
"I'm so sorry," I apologized, turning toward my dad who was doubled over in hysterics. "Dad?"
"Did you see how far he went flying back?" Dad was practically wheezing, tears streaming down his face as laughter overtook him.
Grant stood up with as much dignity as he could muster, brushing invisible dust from his shirt. "Both of you are absolutely inconsiderate."
"I honestly didn't mean to do that," I insisted, then turned to my father with confusion. "What did I do wrong exactly?"
Dad finally composed himself enough to explain, "For starters, you weren't controlling the size of the wisp at all. Your power just rushed out to fulfill your intention, creating the largest possible manifestation." He wiped tears from his eyes as his laughter subsided. "But Grant, you know perfectly well it can't actually harm you."
