Ivy's POV
I watched Nancy grow pale, her body language revealing her hesitation. Unable to resist, I wrapped her in a quick hug. "Give him a chance," I whispered softly against her ear. "He might surprise you." With a small, encouraging wave to Connor, I felt Nancy's fingers tighten desperately around mine.
Connor approached with confident strides, his eyes never leaving Nancy. "Come on, little wolf," he said, voice deep and gentle as he slid his arm around her waist. "I think we have something to discuss."
When I pulled my hand free, Nancy's eyes pleaded silently for rescue. Instead, I gave her another wave and backed away. Curiosity got the better of me, and I turned just in time to witness Connor silence whatever Nancy had been about to say with a sudden, passionate kiss. My eyebrows shot up in surprise before I spun around and jogged the remaining distance to the training area.
"Everything okay with you?" Cecilia called out the moment I approached the training ring.
