Sunny's POV
Sunny threw himself sideways just as a shadow monster's claws slashed through the air where his head had been.
"There are too many of them!" he shouted to Zara, who was using her wind magic to blow three shadow creatures off the palace balcony.
Through his weakening bond with Luna, Sunny could feel her fighting the same hopeless battle in the Night Realm. Hundreds of monsters from other worlds were pouring through the Shadow King's portals, and more kept coming every second.
"We can't win this fight," Zara panted, dodging a blast of dark fire from a shadow mage. "There are thousands of them and only four of us."
Sunny's heart ached as he realized she was right. Even with their new magic, even with their determination to save everyone, they were completely outnumbered. The shadow armies weren't just from one world—they were from dozens of conquered realms.
