Luna's POV
Luna grabbed the Staff of Divided Light and slammed it into the ground just as Sage's eyes started to close forever.
"No!" she screamed, pouring every bit of her silver-and-gold magic into the ancient artifact. "I won't let you die for me!"
The staff blazed with rainbow light that shot through both palaces like lightning. Luna felt the power hit her bond with Sunny, and suddenly she could see what he was seeing in the Day Realm. Zara was lying on the floor next to him, her skin turning gray from the death magic.
Use your staff too! Luna told Sunny through their connection. Right now, while mine is still working!
Sunny didn't hesitate. He grabbed the Heart of Unmaking and smashed it against the floor. Crystal shards exploded everywhere, each piece glowing with ancient power that made the air itself sing with magic.
