Luna's POV
The purple light wrapped around Luna's wrists like burning ropes.
"No!" she screamed, but the prophecy magic didn't care about her fear. The glowing chains pulled tighter, and Luna felt something terrible happening inside her chest. Her magic was being sucked out of her body like water going down a drain.
Sunny! she called through their bond, but his voice sounded far away now.
I'm coming! Hold on! Sunny's thoughts reached her, filled with panic and love.
But the Shadow King just laughed. "How sweet. The boy thinks he can save you. But the prophecy has made its choice, little moon princess."
Luna tried to fight the chains, but they were made of ancient magic that was stronger than anything she'd ever felt. Each second that passed, more of her life force flowed out of her body and into the glowing purple light.
"Why me?" Luna gasped, falling to her knees as weakness spread through her legs.
