"Stop staring and keep up!" Cassius snapped Gwen out of her thoughts.
Gwen subconsciously nodded and quietly followed Cassius.
"Shh, Wilson Fisk brought his elite squad with him," she whispered. "He trained these guys specifically to clear out his obstacles!"
The two of them hid behind some old, rusty containers. Gwen carefully gestured to the side. Following her gaze, Cassius saw a team of soldiers armed to the teeth, with gear that rivaled a special ops team. They were equipped with the latest bulletproof helmets, vests, and even bulletproof face masks.
'Wilson Fisk is really loaded,' Cassius thought to himself. That kind of equipment would cost at least half a million dollars, and he had armed dozens of people with it.
"We have to be careful. They're not like those thugs from before..." Gwen moved her limbs, carefully observing for any weaknesses. She was nimble, but that didn't make her bulletproof. Since they were specially trained, she had to be extra cautious.
But just as Gwen was speaking, the figure next to her suddenly stood up. Cassius walked straight out from behind the container, openly heading toward the soldiers.
"Hey!" Gwen hissed, her voice low. "Unicorn, what are you doing?!" She wondered if he couldn't hear her through the armor. Walking out like that was a death wish!
"I'm going to test the performance of this suit," Cassius said without looking back, stretching his limbs as he walked. Although he had fought the thugs earlier, he hadn't learned anything useful. To know the true power of Kabuto, he needed to fight these guys.
The moment Cassius walked out, the elite soldiers immediately noticed him.
"Contact! We have an intruder!" they called out. They didn't open fire right away but instead reported the situation with caution. As soon as the message went out, other teams immediately sent people to surround him. In less than ten seconds, Cassius was completely encircled.
Facing the soldiers, Cassius calmly placed his hand on the Kabuto Zecter on his belt.
"Masked Form!" He yanked the beetle-head lever to the right.
[PUT ON!]
The rhinoceros beetle helmet on his suit changed. With his hands crossed and a flash of light, steel plates covered the surface of the armor. The horn on his head retracted, becoming two forked steel horns. The suit's sleek appearance became that of a powerful shield, looking indestructible just by looking at it.
The reason Cassius changed into this form was because of its strong defensive capabilities. Even a direct missile strike couldn't penetrate it.
"That looks so cool!" Gwen carefully peeked her head out from behind the container, her eyes wide. No engineering student could resist an armored suit like this. She couldn't even tell how he did it!
"Open fire!" the elite soldiers shouted, pulling their triggers without hesitation.
Flames erupted! A rain of bullets poured out of the guns. The bullets covered Cassius's head like a heavy downpour.
BANG, BANG, BANG!!!!
Because of their training, the soldiers fired in alternating bursts. The rapid gunfire echoed through the night, not stopping for a moment, like a string of firecrackers.
The bullets hit Cassius's Kabuto Masked Form, and sparks flew as the bullets ricocheted off the armor. The flashes of light on the armor were like fireworks in the night sky. The sound of metal on metal echoed all around. The soldiers didn't stop pulling their triggers until they saw Cassius fall.
Meanwhile, Cassius stood there, observing the changes to the Kabuto Masked Form in the hail of bullets. The bullets felt like nothing more than a tickle, and with the incredibly thick armor, he saw these guys as nothing more than struggling in vain.
"This guy can actually handle them!" Gwen's heart finally settled. Cassius stood there like an unbreakable fortress. She had clearly been overthinking things. In this situation, these guys couldn't do anything to Cassius.
"It's my turn to show off!" Gwen leaped out from behind the container, rolled, and quickly shot webs at the elite soldiers. The sticky webs stuck to their masks, blocking their vision.
Just as they frantically tried to rip the webs off, they were met by a white blur. The white streak flipped and jumped between the trees and obstacles so fast that it was almost invisible.
With Cassius as a distraction, Gwen arced through the air and landed behind the enemies. With enemies in front and behind, the elite soldiers were in a tough spot.
.....
Inside the factory.
"I'll handle the North Coast, and with our partnership, our business will soon spread overseas!" A big, bald man in a suit sat on a black sofa. He held a cane in his right hand and raised his glass with a sinister smile.
Bang, bang, bang...
Just as Wilson Fisk was about to clink glasses with his guest, a series of rapid gunshots rang out. He frowned and turned to his subordinate standing next to him.
"Boss, we have two intruders!" The subordinate quickly pulled out a tablet, showing the security footage.
"Ghost-Spider?" Wilson Fisk immediately recognized the white figure. "Who is this red armored figure? Iron Man?"
"Boss, it doesn't seem to be Iron Man," the subordinate bowed and explained respectfully.
"It's not?" Wilson Fisk finally relaxed and waved his hand dismissively. "Tell the doctor to activate 'Protocol A.' Let's get rid of them."
If Iron Man had shown up, the Avengers might have come. But there was no need to worry about these two lowlifes.
"Mr. Fisk, is everything okay outside?" The guest sitting across from him was clearly getting anxious.
"Don't worry, it's just a small problem. It'll be handled soon!" Wilson Fisk grinned and picked up his wine glass again.
.....
Outside.
BANG, BANG, BANG!
Cassius stood calmly in the middle of the battlefield, shooting at the guards one by one with a pistol. With a simple spray of bullets, the guards fell to the ground, and their blood soaked the pavement.
"Are you a scientist?" Gwen landed next to Cassius, spinning in the air. She was very curious about his identity. She often attended various scientific conferences but had no memory of this kind of technological achievement. At first, she thought it was a knockoff of Iron Man, but it was clearly not the same type of armor.
"Let's go inside." Cassius didn't answer her question and walked toward the factory.
"What's your armor made of? It's not just normal metal, right?" Gwen followed him, chattering nonstop. "Otherwise, it would have been pierced! Is it made of Vibranium?" She really couldn't figure out who this guy was.
BOOM!
Suddenly, the factory door burst open. Amidst the thick smoke, more than twenty strange shadows appeared. They were twenty robots with mech-like bodies and spider legs on their backs. The robots quickly crawled up the walls, and when their mouths opened, mini-guns could be seen inside!
"It's Wilson Fisk's Spider Slayers!" Gwen's expression turned grim. These robots were specifically designed to fight her. She had defeated the prototypes before, but she never expected him to mass-produce them!
