Chapter 28 - Grudges and Resentment, Kissed by Gwen!

For Cassius, this wasn't a problem at all. If nothing unexpected happened, Wilson Fisk would spend the rest of his life as a vegetable. The muscular man leaned against a broken pillar, his eyes empty.

"Call 911 for your boss," Cassius said, retracting his hand and calmly looking back at the terrified thugs. "Then turn yourselves in with all the stuff in this warehouse."

The thugs all nodded frantically when their eyes met his. What they had just witnessed would haunt them for the rest of their lives.

"Let's go." Cassius glanced at Wilson Fisk, who was lying motionless on the ground, and left the warehouse with Gwen. Not a single person dared to stop them. Who would have thought that in just one night, the king of the underworld would be gone forever, replaced by an insignificant vegetable?

Under the moonlight, the pale silver light fell on the ground like a layer of frost. On a small hill in the suburbs, the bright moonlight enveloped the entire area.

Gwen sat on the sharp, protruding cliff face, looking up at the moon. She didn't say anything, just stared at the bright moon in a daze.

"You hate Wilson Fisk?" Cassius walked up and sat next to Gwen, asking her a question. He could tell that the moment Wilson Fisk appeared, Gwen's hatred had reached its peak. She wanted to tear him to shreds. Gwen's character wasn't usually this extreme, which showed just how much she hated Wilson Fisk.

"Yeah." Gwen nodded slightly and took off her mask. The moment the mask came off, her light blonde hair fell down, looking like a flowing river of silver under the moonlight. Her sharp nose made her face even more charming. Up close, her fair skin was flawless, glowing with a crystal-clear luster in the moonlight. The contours of her face were clear and soft, with a high nose and tight lips, giving her a firm and decisive look.

"..." Cassius was surprised. Gwen had always been very protective of her identity, so she wouldn't easily reveal it to outsiders. He never expected her to take off her mask in front of him.

And her face was beautiful... like an orchid under the moonlight, with a refined elegance, yet also a hint of immaturity and charm. It was completely different from Wanda's beauty, but it didn't diminish Gwen's loveliness at all.

"Surprised?" Gwen smiled, turning to look at Cassius. "You're not wearing your helmet either. It would be rude of me to keep mine on."

"Yeah." Cassius stared at her enchanting face and nodded subconsciously. He had to admit that Gwen's beauty was far beyond his expectations.

"My dad is a police officer. Two years ago, while he was on duty, he arrested a wanted criminal and got on Wilson Fisk's bad side. He was severely injured and has been in the hospital, unconscious, for over two years." Gwen's eyes dimmed as she looked at the bustling city in the distance. That was the reason she hated Wilson Fisk so much. If that hadn't happened, she might not have become Ghost-Spider and would just be a normal girl next door.

"So, you wanted Wilson Fisk to experience the same pain..." Cassius never expected that this universe's Gwen's family would also have such a tragic story.

This must have been the reason she had been chasing Wilson Fisk. For Gwen, this was probably a lifelong trauma. He remembered that Gwen's father, George Stacy, was indeed a police officer, a righteous, brave, helpful, and aspiring police officer. But he had become a vegetable.

That kind of life was worse than death! The hope of him waking up was like a string that Gwen was hanging on to. She didn't even know if her father would ever wake up.

"For a guy like Wilson Fisk, making him a living vegetable is far more terrifying than killing him," Cassius said.

"Yeah." Gwen looked at the moon and nodded slightly, her eyes welling up. "I've been investigating this for a while, and that's why I've been giving Wilson Fisk trouble."

"But he's too strong, and his power is terrifying. No matter what I do, I always feel so weak." Gwen moved her gaze back to the moon and nodded slightly, her eyes shining with tears. The thing she had been striving for had finally been achieved.

"But your goal has been achieved," Cassius said, taking a deep breath and forcing a smile to comfort her. She was also a poor soul who had been running on the path of revenge and never stopped.

"Yeah... but also no." Gwen lowered her head and sighed. "Dad is still in bed and will never wake up."

She had achieved her goal, but what followed was emptiness and despair. The girl's face was filled with sadness, and tears streamed down her cheeks, but she quickly wiped them away with the back of her hand. She didn't want to show her fragile side to others.

Suddenly, a big hand grabbed her soft, white hand. "No. Your father has a chance to wake up."

"You have a way?" Gwen looked up sharply, her teary eyes full of hope. "You have a way?" This man was always shrouded in mystery, so maybe he really did have a way.

"Tomorrow morning, we'll go to the hospital together to see your father. I'll take care of everything then," Cassius replied confidently. He had the Horse Talisman, which could cure any disease. Gwen's father would definitely get better.

"Okay, tomorrow it is!" Gwen didn't pull away from Cassius's hand and flashed a brilliant smile. Her sixth sense told her she could trust this mysterious man. Whenever she was close to him, she felt a sense of peace. He was trustworthy.

"Let's go!" Cassius let go of her hand and stood up, smiling. "So, it's a deal. I'll come by tomorrow night."

"Okay!" Gwen nodded with a shy smile, looking very charming under the moonlight. Cassius got on his motorcycle and drove Gwen to her house.

"Give me your number." Gwen got off the motorcycle and asked. Cassius was more than happy to exchange numbers.

"I'm going back now." Gwen said, shaking the phone with his number saved.

"Go ahead." Cassius waved.

But just then, Gwen seemed to muster her courage and took a step forward. Her soft lips pressed against Cassius's cheek. Cassius's eyes widened. He never expected this to happen...

"I'm going back! See you tomorrow!" Gwen pulled away and ran back into her building.

Cassius touched his cheek, watching her disappear into the tall buildings.

He had just been kissed by a young girl!

But... it would be a shame to only use those soft lips to kiss a cheek...
